Good luck with that one. :)
yeah, going to run linx tonight since i just ran it for an 1 hour and 15 minutes and only 12 test completed so, to long for me to wait (have to play L4D :P) so i will let it run overnight, im just worried 450 x 9 is going to take at least 1.55v or more =/ i really need a Q9650 or Q9550 =[
New bios for the EP45T UD3P : F5 and boy is this finally a good step in the right direction !! most divider issues are gone and I can run the same specs at lower volts than before ( FSB term and Nb voltage)
Running at the moment 500FSB with 1600mhz rams 8-8-8-24 PL 9 with just 1.32NB voltage hyperpi 32mb stable
Grab here : EP45T UD3P F5 bios
E7400 is a nice CPU too

Ah, nice chip you got there :yepp:
Either or both :)Quote:
do i need more MCHcore or vDimm to get PL9? my team dark currently at PL10, when i set to PL9 it wont boot...
Nice, glad you got there
If it's stable, leave EIST and Cx enabled. And thermal monitor.
The lowest you can get stable :)
I'm just curious if anybody hates the UD3P as much as I do.
Here are some of the problems. I start in windows, set my EasyTune 6 settings and run my Q6600 at 3.8ghz on prime for 4 hours no issues. I then re-start my pc, set those exact same settings in the bios and the pc does not start at all. It just cycles on and off for a few minutes (nothing i can do about that) until finally it works and takes me to the bios. In the bios, my voltages are COMPLETELY off.
example: my MCH Refference should be 0.76V and sometimes in the bios it is .86, sometimes it is .6V - and this is completely random. this is not the only setting this happens to. My MCH/Dram reference voltage is sometimes WAY below stock which is why sometime my pc doesn't boot at all.
After struggling for half an hour at a time to start my pc, I decide to set everything on auto. Upon entering windows ET6 reads my CPU PLL at 1.85V ....
I have to say I am very mad because of this. Sorry for this highly negative post, but I do not understand why my settings do not stay put in the bios, and sometimes the voltages that go through my pc are quite dangerous..... I'm using the latest bios, F7 I beleive. Does anybody have any idea what may be going on here? I have never had this much trouble with any motherboard before.....
edit. Another example. My cpu termination should be 1.38 volts. My pc started with it at 1.5volts....
my final problem is that no matter what, I cannot run my ram at stock speeds. I should be able to do 1066 at 5-5-5-15 timings. I cannot go over 844 at 5-7-7-20....
That said, when I DO get it running properly, it runs stable as can be.
I wanted to run @ 4.4Ghz. but Prime kept failing a couple min. into the 800000 with FFT length of 8k. So running small FFT's I tried about everything without raising Vcore. Everything failed just after 3min. It would run 13min though after changing the Vref to .800v from .760v. A huge improvement actually. There is a relationship between Vtt and Vref so you can go too high on Vref if changed alone. In the end I needed to raise Vcore after all. All else is the same since last post but:
Vcore........................1.3375v ****************** MCH...............1.20v
CPU Term..................1.20v ****************** MCH ref.......... .720v
CPU PLL...................1.5v ****************** MCH/Dram ref. .820v
Vref......................... .800v ****************** VDimm.......... 2.18v
Used Crucial 8500"s. 4 hrs of small FFT's.

How do I do that?
adpr 02,heres a post that might help you understand what ET6 shows and what to set in bios.http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=1157
daaaaaaaaamn, hopefully this link sheds some light on the issue. From skimming over it, I don't see any explanation of why my cpu PLL voltage would jump to 1.85 in ET6 though, as it is not a reference voltage (is that right?). And there is still the problem of not being able to run my ram at stock speeds.
Either way, I'll go give it a good read and see if I can determine the proper voltages.
Alright, I don't know if I'm just being an idiot, or if I fried my brains doing physics today, but I don't get how that works. Here are the settings that I was completely stable with... although the VTT was different in the bios. I Beleive it was 1.24 or something like that. I don't know if the VTT that I set on ET6 counts.
Is this enough info to be able to tell what voltages I should put in the bios? And yeah, my pc is not stable anymore with these exact settings put in ET6. Just BSOD'd 5 times.
Here's the link:

adpr 02,have been setting things in ET6 (voltages)? if so make sure it is not set to load values upon reboot.
Yeah, I have. That is how I overclocked this processor to begin with. It is not set to load on boot. The program isn't set to start-up upon re-start.
I'm just wondering how those ET6 settings would look like in the bios, since with those setting I was completely stable. I don't feel like starting from scratch again... Btw, what are the max voltages you'd put for the various options?
one thing you have to remember is that ET6 just show % values for ref volt so you cant go into the bios and put 0.76 and expect it to work.have you tried fatguy1992's template?read this too.http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=983Code:B Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)

Well, Fatman's settings did not work for me at all. I then got pissed off and just put random (liberal) voltages through everything but the Reference voltages which I set to auto, and for some reason I managed to boot in windows, and have been priming for 10 minutes.....
I would still like someone to explain what's going on here, because I want to actually understand what I am doing.
Anybody know what the max safe voltages are for the motherboard and the quad? I still have that image of the VPLL at 1.85 V in my mind.
i'm guessing ur using ET6 to overclock??? dont, just go into the bio, and change setting, and dont use ET6 and see if u still have troubles. btw: pll 1.85v is high, 1.65v pll should be more than enough for the clock u r trying to run
edit: i never used ET6, maybe try uninstalling it than using the bios to oc, also when it is turning on and off it means failed to boot, failed oc and it trys to recover with stock bios settings, did u mean your mobo boots after this with different voltage everything and way off stock???
Yeah, bro. I'd never go above 1.57v myself. I didn't select that 1.85V setting, ET6 did. Seriously, there's nothing "easy" about that program.
Well, now that I learnt to stay away from the reference voltages, I got my processor stable at 3.8ghz, primed for 2 hours. It's also stable at 3.9Ghz (primed for 15 minutes) but needs a voltage of 1.53v which is a bit high for my tastes. I'm now reading the GTL Reference voltage thread to see if I can reach any higher, with about 1.5v.
I'll think about it. 3.9 seems so tempting especially since my temperatures don't exceed 60C...
Still. What do you guys think should be the max VTT and MCH core voltage I should put through my setup? I'd rather increase those 2 from now on and leave my Vcore alone.
I`m really don`t know what i can do to get stable over 500 FSB... Now i`m playing with 520 but my goal is 530, But i tried every possible combination in BIOS and in ET6 but doesn`t work very well, With settings below i can run ORTHOS small FTT for 20 min then program crash. Blend test fails immediately. I saw many people getting stable at 550, 540... etc, i believe i can do that as well just need figure out how.

Lower NB voltage to 1.36, set PL 11 and set more Ram voltage try eg 2.12, ram timings at 5-5-5-18 ( my board undervolts 0.07 )
Trying to get max oc on stock volts. Ran LinX and passed at 3.7ghz. Tried 3.8 but screen locked up.
Having a lot of fun with this motherboard.
hey guys finally pick the ram am getting (http://1582.tchosts3.net/TEMPLATES/T...2DOC%2D4GK1066) but forgot to ask will the ud3p run this ram as its not in the compatiable list but niether is the ram i run now?
