yeah. anything with CCCBWE 0551 is a poor overclocking stepping. i would try to return it if possible. i know im thinking about it
Well your asking alot of the ram to run at 270+ with tighter timings the ram porbably doesnt like that. My UCCC max is 170 and it took alot of tweaking to get that to run.Quote:

I thought that was what i saw for your settings over at dfi-street anyways. I think i may be limited by ither my motherboard, the RAM, or my cooling. Angry at dfi-street said he didn't think the Expert board was that great of an overclocker compared to the earlier DFI boards. I think i'm starting to agree because my temps aren't that bad with this Zalman CNPS9500. Could be the UCCC based RAM just doesn't play as well with the memory controllers too i guess. My DRAM settings should be good to go because i've tried a lot of combinations and all the different settings i've seen others use with the UCCC RAM. I'm satisfied with 2.85-2.9GHz but i'd like to get one up in the 2.95-3GHz range Prime stable without a ton of voltage. I'm probably going AM2 here before long once DFI releases their new nVidia chipset board so i'm not too worried over a measly ~100MHz clock.Quote:

no, you got a processor that works exactly as AMD manufactured it.Quote:

the 0610's coming out now are the best of the bunch i think
anyone have a problem w/ core 0 crashing after 1 or 2 mins of prime? i even tried raising the volts up a little bit and its still crashing on me.
2.9ghz at 1.45v is prime stable though
3.0ghz at 1.5-1.55v core 0 crash
core 0 seems to be always crapping out on me.
btw this is on water and temp is at 51-53c at 3.0ghz at 1.5-1.55v
could it be my IHS?
its a 165 0610
right now im trying out ice water and it seems to be priming pass the 1-3 minute mark. 3.0ghz at 1.488v. cpu temp on guardian is 38c.
core 0 failed after 17 minutes of prime :slapass:
I had posted earlier about an ebay auction for Opteron 165's for $290 & 170's for $389 CCB1E & CCBBE steppings available upon rrequest. This seller was originally pointed out by niexa77 and I'm glad he let us know. Now to the bad news. I bought a 170 CCBBE 0617 XXXX. I paid via paypal Friday morning and had the funds available in paypal so no need for transfers from bank account or credit cards. (Had a one time weird problem with paypal using an e-check a few weeks back due to cc expired so I had funded paypal and needed to spend it) Monday morning @ 9:27 a.m. I received an email from paypal that a shipping label had been created and it gave tracking info. I was a bit disappointed since I paid Friday morning 10 a.m. which would be 8 a.m. the sellers time, but figured o well I'll have it Wednesday. Wednesday came no cpu. Thursday came no cpu. Friday came no cpu. Seller is using USPS. I contacted them via email Friday after the mail ran. Was told my order processed Monday but did not ship til Wednesday morning June 14th. Once again I was disappointed but felt o well at least I have it Saturday to really spend some time seeing what its got over the weekend. Well you don't have to guess, it didn't come Saturday either:mad:
Now I buy & sell on ebay all the time. I prefer usps myself and only have trouble when shipping internationally. But Gawd     !!! Its been over a week since they've got my $$$ and still no cpu. The person I've been in contact with via email said he'd talk to his boss about overnighting another Monday.
Anyway I checked the feedback which I should of done in the first place and this seems to be a frequent problem. Good prices on some highly sought after CPU's everyone, but shipping & receiving seems to be an issue. I just thought I post back my experience before anyone else jumps on. By the way, the seller now says they can ship by other means if you request, so I strongly recommend it. Personally, I'm going back to Tankguys like I did before, or Give Dave another try. If this is inappropriate mods please delete just wanted to let others know how things have been so far.
Aaaaargh! hope i get mine :( i ordered two and half was not my money :(Quote:

I'm sure I'll be over all the shipping troubles after I report the first opty 170 CCBBE stepping. The price is good too. I guess I'm just wanting people to know not to expect their product in a couple of days as we've become accustomed too. If you're in no rush it's still a good buy. After all, Monarch ships a few days after you order, which of course is why I never buy from them.
Has anyone found a good Phase Chip apart from the CCWBE 0550 UPMW Stepping?
With phase, I would be more concerned with getting higher multipliers to reduce cold bug problems with high HTT.Quote:
