You need the latest Jmicron drivers to use esata. If you have an SSD and want maximum performance you will want to use Ligushka's bios and the Intel RST drivers to run ACHI properly.

-- You said the driver works fine, but didn't specify which one. Was I correct in saying the Vista one?
Well if you aren't using esata or an SSD I would just update the ethernet and chipset drivers. There were definately issues with the win7 ethernet drivers and the chipset drivers are just the right thing to do,
Windows 7 has the necessary chipset drivers. You can still manually update the drivers if you extract the Intel Chipset driver installer and then point every "Intel..." device in System Devices & USB Controllers (and IDE/ATA Controllers since you're not using AHCI) to that folder in the "Update Driver Software..." wizard, but Windows' own drivers work fine. Likewise with the audio and Ethernet (Windows' own drivers will suffice), but I advise installing those. The Realtek audio driver will install its own sound control panel, but if you really hate it just extract the setup file and point Windows to the driver folder. If you only use IDE emulation mode, you do not require the Intel Rapid Storage Technology, but if you're using eSATA you need the JMicron driver. The Vista x64 µGuru driver works fine in Win7x64.
Ok thanks!
Is there any special reason your link to the audio drivers goes to the majorgeeks site and not right to the source?
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false
SLI hack for this board? Is it true?
Realtek's site is ridiculously slow in my experience, so I use Majorgeeks' mirror whenever I link the driver to anybody. :)
@UrbanSmooth: theoretically, yes. I have not tested it and I do not have the capability to test it (two identical cards). I'm not too afraid of bricking my board as a buddy has an identical one I can hotflash with to fix mine. However I believe if I attempt inserting SLI strings into the BIOS I'd also have to insert SLIC 2.1 strings which would be questionable to post here as that would be a method of bypassing Windows Vista/7 activation. Plus I'd have that many more BIOS versions to "maintain".
Well, shoot me a PM. I really like this board in my backup rig, but, I would love to add another GTX 460 to SLI with.
On the realtek website link for the network drivers, I noticed there are two sections.
One labeled: RTL8110SC(L)
The other is: RTL8110S-32/RTL8110SB(L)/RTL8169SB(L)/RTL8169SC(L)
RTL8169 (RTL8110SC(L))
Each section has a variety of downloads for many OSes. Which one of these do I want?
First page says 8110SC, BIOS OROM says 8110SC
8169/8110 is PCI-E IIRC, our Realtek implementation is PCI
Anyway Realtek uses the same driver zip for their PCI-E and PCI Gigabit controllers, so it doesn't matter really what you have, just as long as you pick the correct driver for your OS.
Great, thanks for your help!
I've installed the audio drivers from the zip file by just unzipping and installing through device manager. Same for uGuru. Going to install the ethernet here in a min. After that I'm all set for mobo-related stuff. Thank you guys for your help! :D

By the way, Realtek HD Audio R2.59 was released a few days ago.
Here is a new BIOS compilation with:
- Phoenix AHCI Option ROM 01.07.10 (12-05-2008)
- Intel RAID/AHCI Option ROM 8.5.0.1030
- JMicron JMB363 Option ROM 1.07.25
- Realtek 8110SC PXE Option ROM 1.75c
Flash at your own risk. I've tested 18ZZZ only, no issues. There's almost zero chance of failure for other versions, however. Worst thing that'll happen is some option ROM throws an error, in which case you flash back to stock and post here so I can figure out why and possibly correct it (or put in an older working version of that option ROM instead).

I spoke too soon on my excitement...
Even after updating the drivers manually through device manager for the audio, it still gave me that blasted audio panel in the system tray. Ugh...
Anyone know of a way to remove that garbage and just use the built-in Windows tools? As far as I can tell, that GUI gets me nothing special.
Try removing the startup entry for the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel using StartupCPL.
Hi Ligushka,
You may have already try these RAID/AHCI Option ROM : v10.5.0.744 & v10.0.5.916 & v10.5.0.976 & v10.5.0.1034. Just in case one is working on our board.
Thanks.
I do know that those OROMs are floating around, but I have not tested them yet. I probably will not because they are all over 64kb in size still, thus they will most likely not work. Thanks for the suggestion.
There was a RTL8110SC driver update about a week ago.
New drivers:
- Intel Chipset 9.2.0.1030 (zip format)
- Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.5.0.1027 (Windows installer, 32-bit and 64-bit floppy downloads)
- Realtek 8110SC PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Realtek updated the LAN driver a few days ago, but the driver version stayed the same. The actual driver files did change somehow, however, so it's probably a good idea to update regardless.)

Hey Ligushka,
Thanks a ton for continuing to post updates for us IP35 Pro users...seriously awesome work!
This may be a tad off-topic, but I was hoping to pick your brain on RAID with this mobo:
I finally took the plunge and bought an SSD to use as a boot/system/programs drive. I want to use the rest of my old spindle drives as storage in a RAID config (18ZZZ BIOS, W7 Ultimate). After I migrate my system data to the SSD, I'm assuming I need to enable RAID in the BIOS, then install the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver from your links to be able to configure the storage RAID array...?
Thanks again for any input you might have.
That makes sense, yes. I've never personally set up any RAID arrays so I don't know the exact procedure, but yours seems logical.
I might be able to help you with RAID on this board.
If you had the OS installed in IDE mode it won't boot, you need to follow this procedure before enabling the RAID mode and then install the RST driver. If it was installed in AHCI mode you are good, you just need RST driver after you enable the RAID mode.
If you do a fresh OS install use the RAID mode before starting the installation and use the RST F6 driver (if needed). You can set-up the array before of after the OS installation, it does not matter because your are not RAIDing the OS only data. When the installation is finished install the RST driver.
You can setup the array in the BIOS during the boot or it can be done with the RST manager, I personally prefer the BIOS method.
For information RAID mode is equivalent to the AHCI mode when no array (e.g. single drive).
Happy to help if you need more information.
Fantastic. I've got my project for the weekend and will let y'all know how it goes. Thanks again very much.
Hi guys I need a bit of a info!
I have an Abit IP35 Pro V1.1 (Bios V18ZZZ) with bolt mod running with a Q6600(1.325VID) and 4GB of OCZ reaper PC2 8500 Ram.
Just ordered an OCZ Agility 3 60GB SSD, should be with me on Tuesday. But reading some posts I am wondering if I need the V19 Bios update posted in OCZ Forums?
I'm not sure what exactly the "V19" BIOS on that forum is, never examined it. I don't really care, either.
This BIOS has all the latest option ROMs at the date of this posting, and will be sufficient for your needs. See the first post on this page for all the latest drivers.
And Realtek HD Audio R2.61 has been released. See the first post for valid links.
Thank you very much for the quick response! I have already updated the drivers it is just the bios I was not sure about. With the recent talk about the cold boot issues with OCZ SSD's I was(am) a bit worried. I will stick with 18ZZZ bios.
Unfortunately the versioning of BIOSes now is confusing. Where did you get your 18ZZZ BIOS from? Are you certain that it has newer option ROMs than the "original" 18ZZZ offering from the Lejabeach site?
i downloaded it from http://www.lejabeach.com/ABIT/IP35Pro/
Direct link is http://www.lejabeach.com/ABIT/IP35Pr...ro%2018ZZZ.rar
Is this not the correct bios version?
It is correct, and is sufficiently new to use with your SSD without issue, but I have a newer one with newer Phoenix AHCI, JMicron, and Realtek PXE ROMs. I would suggest updating.
Oh Ok I Have downloaded that using your link but didn't update as both bios has the same name(18ZZZ) but your one is "b18-0117.ZZZ" and dated 17/01/2011, the one I have flashed is Called "07-05-10.ZZZ" and dated 05/07/2010 thats the one from lejabeach web site.
So I will flash it in the morning and will update. Thanx for the help. Must sleep now it is close to 5am and I have to wake up again in less than 4 hours :)
So I updated the bios, and got my SSD(OCZ Agility 3 60GB) it is blazing fast even in SATAII but I have the cold boot issue as well :( any advice?
Which cold boot issue?
If you carefully watch the ROM screens at bootup you should be able to tell which version you have.
JMicron JMB363 Storage Controller driver R1.17.63 WHQL is out. Download
Yay, JMicron released an update to their JMB363 option ROM, version 1.07.28. Release notes have not been updated, so I have no clue what's changed yet. I'll have a lot of fun updating 13 BIOS versions soon...
And Realtek HD Audio driver R2.62 was released a few days ago, see links at the top of this page.
IP35 Pro BIOS 17- Problem started with random blue screens, when system idle. Now, upon latest reboot splash screen froze for over two minutes. Tried resetting CMOS, and then unplugging power cord for hour. Splash screen still freezing. Finally just left the splash screen, and finally (4+ minutes) screen changed and gave me a "cmos check sum error-Defaults loaded". Was then able to finish boot, but before I try restart, thought I'd check with the experts for advice.
Replace your CMOS battery, to begin with.
Glad I could help. If you could zip up the contents of the %systemroot%\Minidump folder and upload it somewhere, I can analyze the crash dumps to hopefully figure out the cause of your blue screens.
I think I figured out the attachment method. Hope this helps.Attachment 117538
The causes given for your BSODs (oldest to newest):
I suggest installing the latest Realtek Ethernet driver (download Vista and WinServer 2008 Auto Installation Program (SID:1457676) [assuming you're still running Vista here], and do a Repair install if prompted) to potentially solve that first Realtek sys BSOD, but the rest seem to indicate some hardware issue. I see you are overclocking; verify your temperatures at idle and load, as well as power supply voltages (best to check with a multimeter). Run IntelBurnTest, then if that passes, memtest86+ for an extended period of time (24 hours or more) to rule out CPU/RAM issues. If any errors result, go back to stock speeds and test again. If no issues, then your overclock has an issue somewhere.Quote:

Thanks Ligushka-Did the Realtek update.
When Blue Screens started, I stopped the overclocking and have everything set defaults, with no effect on the occurrences of Blue Screens. I run Real Temp and all my temps have stayed in the 35F range, with 50F+ under Prime Load. I will run the Burn Test, and the memtest86+, and do the PS voltage test shortly .
Coincidentally, the Blue Screens started when I installed Avast Free AV, recently, and occur only after full scans. Took me a while to figure that out, as I have been running the full scans at night. Finally ran a full one today, and Voila, up came the blue screen, so I have since uninstalled Avast and returned to MSE. I have also run Scan Now, and it did some repairs to my sys files.
So, all-in-all, with your advice and lots of other forum folks, I hope I have this problem solved.
Thanks again for your kind assistance.
35F? Do you live in a freezer? :) Did you mean Celsius?
I'm glad you were able to solve your problem. I'd still run the IntelBurnTest & memtest86+ at stock and then overclocked speeds to verify stability, and check PSU voltages under idle & load.
Hah! Good catch-Celsius is correct. Just finished running Intel Burn for 10 @ High and passed perfectly. Will do Memtest tonight at bedtime, and let it run over night.
Following that I'll haul out my old analog Multi, and check the PSU. If all that checks out, I'll rebuild the overclock from scratch, though probably not to the 4.1 I had previously.
I just want to make sure system is stable, as I plan to upgrade to a 2500k and Win7 system shortly, and keep this system for off line work, and backup.
Thanks again.
You're quite welcome, good luck! :)
On another note, I really don't like updating 13 BIOS versions, it's quite tedious. I think I'll just update 16, 17, 18, & 18ZZZ for simplicity's sake, and if anybody needs any other version they can just post here and I'll gladly do it. I'll get around to testing that new JMicron OROM and the latest Intel AHCI OROM soon.

I'm sorry but I have to say a board thats around 4 years old, the manufacturer isn't even around anymore and you want BIOS updates and things... thats really flogging a dead horse right there. Some good P45 boards can still be found new through a bit of googling.
I was able to get SSDs working properly on this board thanks to Ligushka BIOS update (Intel RAID/AHCI Option ROM 8.5.0.1030), there is no need to change the board, just want to keep it up-to-date if it is possible. I don't think that I am the only one using Ligushka BIOS to keep this board going.
This has been a great board. Finally looking to upgrade and now the company I relied upon is gone. So sad.
ASrock maybe the company I move too, they seem to have the same type of gamer friendly design's as Abit did.
I haven't attempted updating yet. I'm still positive that the Intel AHCI ROM will not work, but the JMicron should.
I'm new to this forum, and looking for some advice on memory selection for my new IP-35 Pro build. I'm trying to finish building a partially built computer that was started a few years ago, but never completed. All parts are brand new, never been used. I've got these parts: IP-35 Pro mb (bios unknown), Intel Quad Q6600 cpu (SLACR, stepping GO), Noctua NH-U92B cpu cooler, MSI NX8800GT OC'd graphics card, PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 PSU, HT Omega Claro sound card, Antec P182 case, Windows 7 Home Premium, and for memory, I have a 4g (2x2) dual channel kit of Mushkin #996582 DDR2 PC2-6400 with 5-4-4-12 timings. I plan on playing around with OC'ing this rig when done, and will do very mild gaming, photoshop work, and general computer usage.
My problem is, I want to run 8g of memory, and I don't know which is the better way to go with this build for the best performance. I have 2 options that I'm looking at, and I need advice as to which way to go.
Option #1: Keep the 4g of PC2-6400 Mushkin 5-4-4-12 I have now, and then add another 4g (2x2) dual channel kit of PC2-6400 G.Skill #F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B (4-4-4-12 timings) for a total of 8g. Will the Mushkin & G.Skill run okay together?
Option #2: Don't use the Mushkin (sell it), and instead order 2 dual channel kits of (2x2) of PC2-8500 G.Skill #F2-8500CL5D-4GBPI-B (5-5-5-15 timings) for a total of 8g.
So, I know the IP-35 Pro MB is old, but this forum & thread seems to still be going and willing to help people out. Hopefully you guys can help me out here so I can get a great build. Also, any additional advice or tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
Just go with what you've got, no need to waste money. You'll not notice the difference in timings outside of synthetic benchmarks. I'd have more, but (slightly) slower RAM than less, but faster RAM any day. The two RAMs mixed should run at 5-4-4-12 timings I think.
Flash BIOS 14ZZZ and you will be set.
Ligushka,
Thanks for the help. Guess I'll keep the 4g of Mushkin PC2-6400, finish the build and get it running, and then just buy another 4g of the G.Skill PC2-6400 fairly soon. I didn't know if there would be much of a difference between running PC-6400 and PC-8500, and if it was worthwhile to get the 8500 or not. I'm all for saving money, especially on this "old" technology build, and with the other parts and 8g of memory, it'll be faster than what I'm running now.
Also, even though I've built 3 computers previously, I've never flashed a BIOS, and am a little concerned about that. Can you offer any advice on how to successfully do this without screwing things up, or point me in the right direction for the "how to" information? Thanks.
Create a bootable USB flash drive by using this tool and these DOS files. Flashing instructions are in the BIOS archive in the post I linked.
Thanks for the info. I'll give it a shot next week when I have some time around the house again. Out of curiosity, why flash to the 14zzz BIOS and not the latest 18zzz one? Any particular reason? Is the 14zzz as high as I will ever be able to go?
BIOS 14 and below have reportedly better compatibility with 65nm processors, which is what your Q6600 is. You may use any BIOS revision you wish, 14ZZZ is just a suggestion. I believe BIOS newer than 14 has some issue with reading the core temperature improperly or something like that, I don't recall exactly.

I've personally tested 18ZZZ only. There's very little chance of failure for other versions, however. Worst thing that'll happen is some option ROM throws an error, in which case you flash back to a stock BIOS and post here so I can figure out why and possibly correct it (or put in an older working version of that option ROM instead).
If you do not require the PXE ROM to display its "press Shift+F10 to configure..." message twice after the Intel AHCI OROM's initialization message during boot up, go to the CMOS setup screen, then Integrated Peripherals, then Onboard PCI Device, and set - Invoke Boot Agent to Disabled for both Network Controller 1 and Network Controller 2.

Realtek HD Audio R2.67 was released a couple weeks ago.
Realtek High Audio Definition R2.67 for Vista 32bit / Vista 64bit / Win7 32bit / Win7 64bit
Realtek High Audio Definition R2.67 for 2000 / XP / XP 64bit / 2003 / 2003 64bit
Nothing new to report other than that.
It's upgrade time (kinda) - E8400, more memory (adding 4GB), bigger hard drive, more powerful power supply etc.
Thank you for all that you do Ligusta !
Megaupload got megashutdown, so I had to update the links for µGuru and motherboard manual.
Realtek has released a new version of the Ethernet driver for all versions of Windows.
Drivers:
- Intel Chipset 9.3.0.1019 NEW!
EXE & ZIP formats
These drivers are unnecessary if you're running Windows 7 or Vista as they contain all necessary chipset drivers for our board. If you would still like to run Intel's drivers, you can update Intel system devices through Device Manager; point them to an extracted installation directory of these drivers, but I don't think there is any benefit to doing so.- Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.8.0.1003
32-bit and 64-bit floppy files for use during Windows XP or Server 2003 installation, or for manual installation through Device Manager on all versions of Windows: here
These drivers are only necessary if you're running the onboard Intel storage controller in AHCI/RAID mode (see here to enable AHCI if running Windows 7 or Vista).- Realtek 8110SC PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller NEW!
While this points to the PCI-E-based NIC driver, this driver is newer than the one found on the 8110SC page and works without issue.- Realtek High Audio Definition R2.67 for Vista 32bit / Vista 64bit / Win7 32bit / Win7 64bit
- Realtek High Audio Definition R2.67 for 2000 / XP / XP 64bit / 2003 / 2003 64bit
- JMicron JMB363 Storage Controller R1.17.63 WHQL
Utilities:

Does Uguru work in win7 x64 :D ?
Thx for the updated link, just got my old machine back for some updating :D
As far as I know, uGuru will work in W7x64. I don't bother installing the utility though, and just install the driver.
I added a Samsung 830 128GB SSD today without any issue, running the latest 18ZZZ from my BIOS compilation pack. :)

Hello, maybe anyone can help with a little OC for this n00b
I just upgraded my PSU to Corsair 850AX & MSI R7870 and I thought I could match this upgrade with a little OC. I don't know how OC really works but maybe anyone can give me notes or screenshots of your BIOS that I can maybe copy to mine
here's where I'm at for now

advance thanks
Sorry, I've never done any overclocking with this board and haven't really overclocked anything since 2006. Why are you running a beta BIOS, though (assuming your signature is current)?
Still upgrading - 128GB Crucial m4 SSD being the latest addition - zoom!
Currently running this board with a Q9550 @ 3.8Ghz, 8GB G.Skill DDR2-800, EVGA GTX 670 FTW, 2x 128GB Crucial M4
Try these settings...
FSB: 400Mhz
CPU voltage 1.4v (this is a start)
Memory voltage 1.8v
memory ratio 1:1 (800Mhz)
Memory timings 5-5-5-15
You should boot up into 3.6Ghz. Do some testing and then try dropping the CPU voltage down little by little. The only CPU features I'd turn off is virtulization. Everything else is on.
Done :)Quote:

Hi!
Sorry I'm not English so I'll try to be as clearly as possible in my explanations.
Attachment 127679
I have a problem: the memory slots 3 and 4 are not recognized. I can not run the dual channel with my kingston 2gb + 2gb. They are only recognized in slots 1 and 2 as a single. Computer don't boot at all when I put them twice in the slot 3 et 4 ..they are not recognized at all in theses slots.
The ssd work but it not recognized too in the kingston toolbox software.
My bios is 1.8zzz
config:
core2duo 8200
Cooler Master 620W power supply
Msi 570gtx twin frost II
bios 1.8zzz
SSD Kingston HyperX sh103s3/120g in AHCI
4 go Kingston DDR3 pc 6400
All drivers are updated.
I never succeeded with this one or with another memory (gskills) to work.
Is this a hardware issue with the motherboard in your opinion?
Thank you for your answers!
I'm building a budget system for my son-in-law using the IP35 Pro and Q6600, and I need a $50-$60 video card for it. The one I'm seriously looking at is this: GIGABYTE GV-R667D3-1GI Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card, which I can get for about $57 shipped after the rebate. Usage will be watching videos and maybe some light gaming. Will this newer card work easily with the older IP35-Pro, or is there maybe a better option in the same price range? Thanks.
Sure, it'll work just fine.
