heck, i'm willing to let you just buy the steppings you want. LOL! nothing new with that concept.

i dont think he was saying it was a new concept, but that they had CCBBE's in stock in case anyone was looking for one.
its an ebay auction
^^ ROFL @ 60 GB hardisk !!!!! Super LanBoy is not a bad case but way too delicate and small for a high end machine
I also got a CCBBE 0610 DPMW (*904*) from monarch a few weeks ago, and it's curently running at 320x9=2880 @ 1.47V prime stable (3 hours).
Haven't tried going higher yet in the BIOS (though using clockgen it freezes the machine).
CPU: Opteron 165 Dual Core @320x9=2880 MHz 1.47V w/Freezer 64 Pro HSF, 45C load temps
Mobo: DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert
Memory: 2GB (2x1GB) Patriot LL PC3200 @2x160=DDR320 2-3-2-5 1T
Video: XFX 7800 GTX Extreme (490/1300)
Sound: Creative Audigy2 ZS
HD: WD 150GB Raptor 10K rpm
Monitor: Dell 2405fpw 24" LCD
Case: X-Alien metallic green aluminum tower
PSU: OCZ PowerStream 520W
STill no good Opty 170s coming in ehh?? I got a 551 from Monarch =(
i bought an opti from alternate.de
ccbwe 0551UPWM :slapass: :mad:
i hope i get 2800 on water :slap:
Are the good steppings for 165s same as the 170s? Are the ones on front page for 165s only or what... :(
its listed if its a 165 /170 , i have an 170 to but a bad stepping:slapass:
i had a CCBWE 0546XPMW on T_T Bigwater 735 at 9X 314 @ 1.65Vcore but no prime shots as the bigwater lived up to its rep:slap:
EDIT: opteron 170 39 load
would it be better for me to get a 165 and a 170 or 2x 165's or a 180 for next cpu (want a new stepping)
looks like dave at www.flickerdown.com has 165 ccb1e 0606 vpmw.Quote:

yea, there's tons of CCBBE 0610/0615, CCB1E 0608/0609's on ebay.
and they are selling for 1/2 of what they were a month ago
so something interesting has been happening.
after a lot of tweaking and such, i went from prime failure in ~2 mins to about 1.5-2 hours on core 0 while core 1 is still good.
does this sound like heat issue or still a memory issue?
What psu are you using? whats your pwmic & chipset temps? I liked my Super Lanboy, but it never had enough airflow to oc. Have you left the side panel off, & pointed as fan or blower at it?Quote:

most of the time one core will fail before teh other. and if the time span between failures is great enough, the core that survived will prime forever due to the great reduction in heat.
im using the Enermax 535w Whisper. i have a 110cfm fan on my BT, another 110cfm as exhaust in the back, and the stock BT fan as intake in the front. i also have my side panel open with another 120mm fan blowing towards my video card which only has a moderate OC on it right now.
the pc sits in the basement so ambient temps arent a problem.
my PWMIC temps are ~48 if i recall. at 1.475v, my dual cpu burn temps are ~ 44c.
Your Temps are way better than mine. I have the enermax 535w too. The 12v rail idles @ 11.71v and dropped down to 11.35 under load. I stopped using it because it effected my oc and wouldn't power sli without errors. It's probably a long shot, but with the amount of periphials and high cfm fans you got there, whats the 12v rail showing idle & load. You could not be getting enough stable power to the cpu. You do have the two connectors on the board hooked up too right? The DFI is a power hungry board for overclocking,Quote:

I ordered a 170 retail today seller said he had ccb1e & CCBBE steppings. I'm not sure which to ask for as I've not heard anything about 170's @ ccbbe steppings before.Quote:

Stepping = CCBBE 0610 DPMW
Vcore = 1.43v
Vdimm = 2.8v
Load temp = 47°C (mind you at ambient temps of 29°C)
Will post prime results later or tomorrow, maybe you can add me to the list as well then. Lets hope she stays stable.
got 6-7 of them left.Quote:

fwiw, i have a customer who got 2.7ghz @ 1.29v on an 0606vpmw...not too shabby, but i wouldn't know it too well.
dave
anyone know what the 391E substrate # matches to (week code)?
dave
Hi this is my first overclock. How is the result? Any area of improvement? Opty 165, Dfi Expert with Patriot Tccds. Thanks. Ones question is why before the Self-test 64k passed, one processor did 5 test and another did 6? Is this normal?

looking good N15M0 now crank that baby up som more ;)
what stepping ? cooling ? temps look a little high at 1.39
