It's now midnight eastern time, COME ON newegg!
anyone think these would cool the 8800GT in SLI? Zerotherm GX815

can anyone tell me if the 'arctic cooling accelero S1' is compatible with the 8800GT
yeah i think max setting for 512MB card is 1680x1050 2xAA 16xAA all high ... if u go 4xAA ull run out of VRAM easily as it can use ~ 650MB in some areas, but mostly in the low 600's.... of course u can turn down texture/shadows to reduce VRAM usage by ~50MB
1440x900 was ~ 380MB vs 1680x1050 ~ 420MB both at the same setting , i think AA eats too much VRAM ... heh
I only need up to my max resolution, which is 1360x768, so this should make a nice 8800gts 320 replacement in a month or so.
this card looks great, but it won't give me 2x performance from a x1900xtx,
plus im a 939 holdout at 2.5GHz : 250 fsb, 2gb ram...
new system or card.. system or card... system... or.. card...... :sigh:
So what waterblock will fit?
I see the xfx on Zipzppmfly is out of stock (not a surprise), I wonder how many they had to start with.
I had a feeling newegg wouldn't be up until later this morning, if it wasn't up sometime Sunday.
My $5 bet for 8am Central is looking good so far ;)
tomshardware put better than nothing  :p:

will a 3870 tempt you or will you hold off until a higher end card?
im tempted to wait for an offering from ati that trumps the gtx.
annoying that gtx has sat there for a year now - so literally the high end has had virtually no progress whatsoever :)
and i havent seen proof of 8800gt sli fraps in games yet....as it seems that is what is currently on offer as a cheaper alternative to a gtx.
This card is great for the price and definitely has earned it's crown.
Though by no means is it a gtx killer and with aa applied it's definitely struggling against the gtx.
If this is priced at $230 then the gtx should be closer to $350 imho.
This makes sense since the new gts should beat the older gtx and that will be at $325-350
I think the new gtx based on the g92chipset will be a massive card with an incredible amount of memory and shaders.
Considering 2 gts were slightly faster than 1 gtx
I could imagine the next gtx card will be 2x + faster than the current gt.
That being said, who has the gt in stock ;)
If ati's new gpu is slightly faster than the gt, you can always sell the gt for just slightly less than what it's worth and upgrade. I don't think it's worth paying the premium for an overclock on these boards. You are better off getting the cheapest one and then selling and upgrading later on.
and what is going to prompt nvidia to make this?Quote:

r680?
i would have thought crysis would prompt more uber hardware considering it brings gtx sli to its knees @high->max settings....
let alone 8800gt sli :rolleyes:
so there is an 8800gt that slots in between current 8800 320 gts and gtx in terms of performance....and still isnt available. :ROTF:
Now it's confirmed , you were correct! Look at the bottom of the article in this link...

..Not only that, but we can expect the stock clocked 512MB 8800 GT to hit $200 at the low end. The 256MB part, which won't show up until the end of November, will hit prices below $200...
