Has anybody removed the backplate on the mobo?
No..but it's supposed to be easy, GB have guides on there website.

New Problem fixing BIOSes would be a nice touch. This "beta" thingy is starting to annoy me. First video card drivers now mb BIOSes...
Okay, so with a lot of blowdrying and prying with plastic tireirons, we finally got it off. The metal that was in contact with the soldering, got so warm that it actually meltet this soldering a bit, which worried me. The adhesive in between the board and the bracket was not very heat conductive, so it was only at the places where it touched the solderings we had some serious heat issues. But well, the board worked fine after, and we replaced it with a plastic zalman 775 backplate, which is much much better. For some reason, the NB heatsink is no longer burning either, this could be because we added an 80mm fan (standing loose on graphicscard)... but its just SO much cooler, so I doubt that was the only reason.Quote:

What's wrong with the bios's that you've seen? I tried F7b and F7f and haven't seen any issues with either one. If the changes are transparent to the end user, I would think they are doing their jobs, no?Quote:

Motherboard Intelligent tweakr It's for the X48T DQ6 but applies to the X48 DQ6 equally.

Take a quick peek at the PCB Shawn and report if it's Revision 1.3 or not.
