Anybody who gets this board, even if you have no confidence in the heatpipe system (like I and others :rofl: ) please be a pioneer and compare it anyway!

In the picture it has "lanparty" stamped on it. Also Lanparty and Infinity should be the same PCB, just infinity less a bells and whistles board like the NF2 series. It's sad seeing a lot of fairly new members think LP is a special line of DFI lol. It never really has, and it should go back like the NF2 releases.

Maybe this will be good news for you. The DFI LP P35 TR2 in listed at this shop in Romania, but actually it's not in stock. Aldo , they usually list the product in the moment they order them from the producer.

And one more thing. Have you heard anything about the DFI Infinity P35 TR2 , which is supposed to be launched same time with LP P35 ? (at least this is what the roadmap says)

Hmm that means the price in the US is going tobe right around the price of a P5k3 deluxe. They should have a "non retarded heatsink design" version for less.

I asked Andre the same thing right after he made the thread, and he said they are still on schedule to ship at the same time. :up:

BTW, the INFINITY version is the "non-retarded heatsink for less" version. :yepp:

Okay thanks turtle the infinity sounds good then - turtle can you confirm that the P35 infinity will offer the same bios options as the Lanparty Motherboard? I have not found much information about the P35 infinity version at all.

I too am interested in the Infinity. If the ONLY thing missing is the heatpipes then I would get the infinity and just put on a couple HR-05 myself. If it has less SATA/USB/Ethernet among other things it may not be worth getting over the lanparty however.

...I thought the LanParty's were manufactured in Taiwan, and the Infinity's were manufactured in China.

You know how DFI is...Only thing you can do is shoot them an e-mail, and they will more-than-likely give you the best information they have available right now.

As for features, I think the main differance is as follows, but it's per the roadmap as I havn't inquired further:

*6-phase PWM (8 on LP)
*Two less SATA ports
*Lacks second RAID controller (Sil3132 on LP)
*1 ethernet port (2 and teaming on LP)
*Doesn't have heatpipe thinger

Judging by the P965-DARK, I imagine bios options will remain similar, and not crippled as in the past on Infinity boards.

I would agree - digital could be the better solution. Thus far no company has given enthusiasts a digital solution that was properly designed for our needs. Thus - like i said, currently analouge is much better suited for our needs. When we start running this cheap digital hardware out of spec; like you say, it just shuts down or burns out. With the current high end analouge designs (that are cheaper then the cheap digital designs) we have a more flexible and more reliable power solution.

So while i would agree a well thought out digital solution using high quality parts with excess capacity in relation to our enthusiast needs would be more ideal then an analouge solution; no company has yet to offer that - and my educated guess would lead me to believe that for a digital PWM to compete quality wise with an analouge setup, it would cost much more money. So; I would rather have a simple; cool running, and cheap analouge setup that might need new capacitors in ten years instead of a hot; underdesigned; and expensive digital solution that is prone to overloading and melting down.

This is very funny, you are know nothing about it! Digital PWM is only marketing phrase for noobs! Coils cannot to be digital or analogue! In that "digital PWM" is only few coils in one case, there is nothing digital on that coils ... Only one think is better - place savings ...

Hey, I agree with you. I had a NF2 Infinity and loved it because it had most of the LPB features (I loved the 3.3v VDIMM...Why I switched from the NF7-S 2.0) without being so expensive. In this case though, the only thing I would miss is the second RAID controller, and if the "dumbing down" in this case makes a DFI board using the P35 chipset with a $120-130 price tag instead of $220+ price tag, i'm all for it. I'll just buy a damn RAID controller. :D

I am just concerned about the BIOS options and the quality of the power delivery - raid and all that means little for me. Thanks for the update anyhow I have taken your advice and sent an email to DFI.

Any more info about dfi inf p35 will be more than appreciated. :welcome: I'm a little undecided about buying a new mobo for conroe rig. I have to choose between DFI Dark and a p35 implementation. I've read about the advantages of P35 and i'm not convinced that it's better than DFI Dark. So if i will buy a P35 based motherboard i will certainly buy a DFI Infinity. Please provide more info. :up:

Well, whether it's actually "Digital" in Webster's definition of the word, or not, my analysis is fairly accurate.

But since I "are know nothing about it!", and seeing as it's only "marketing phrase for noobs" despite the fact that everyone everywhere uses this phrase, perhaps you could tell us all what it's REALLY called and what the technical differences are between analog and digital, as well as the benefits and weaknesses that go along with each?
