ok I take that back  i just started prime small and watched the htref change in cpuz. Sometimes it goes up to 202.3 (+30mhz @ 20x200).

dont think the board is bad, i have ht bouncing on 0905 too,, posted about it back in june :/ its less frequent than earlier bios but still there. i know ive hinted at it before but quite frankly ive been less than impressed with my experience so far on asus flagship board, seems like even some 890gx boards/bios are more polished/stable
With BIOS 1102 I get a 2mhz bounce running Prime95 and a Vcore jump of 0.2v.
Well today is wednesday, usually the day of the week bingo13 brings us some news...
Probably we soon will see a new ChIVF bios, 055 & 1102 merged together with further mem/voltage tweaks i hope ;)
I tested the 1606 BIOS in my M4A89GTD PRO with 2 Nvidia cards (1xGTX260 and 1x8800GT).
The 260 was in the lower PCIe slot and the 8800 in the upper (closer to the cpu).
With the 1456 BIOS 'lspci' of my Linux cd ( www.sysresccd.org ) showed the 260 but not the 8800.
After flashing the 1606 'lspci' shows both cards :-)
Edit: Windows XP now also found the 8800GT and installed the Nvidia driver for it.
Update-
1. Apologize about the lack of updates but between constant travel and my daughter's cancer coming out of remission it has been a hetic three weeks.
2. I will be back in the office tomorrow but I do have R&D working on BIOS updates to fix the dual NV card problem on the M89x series boards.
3. I should have an update shortly on beta BIOS' for the other boards.
4. I will answer my PMs later today.
Very sorry to hear about your daughter bingo. Thank you for taking the time to update us amidst that trial.
Hope everything will be fine with your daughter bingo, family is the most important thing, specially our children
Family first bingo :)
Take a good care of your daughter.
Regards
Ya don't worry about our damn hardware.
We had no idea.
Hope she gets well.
whats about new for Crosshair IV Extreme?
ZED: wait to Monday, and u will see :)
Hope everything goes well with your daughter.
@Bingo13: As written here, I got two NV cards working with the 1606 BIOS (M4A89GTD PRO) http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=606
If I can help (more information or testing a beta BIOS) please let me know.
Take care of family first, hope your daughter gets well soon. Thanks for staying on top of the bios updates, great if you can give an update/post the M3A79-T and M3HNT updates. Take care Bingo
there seems to be a new m4a79t deluxe bios out. except the links down.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...eluxe-3303.zip
someone else can try it.
Hi bingo
My heart and prayers go out for you and your family dude :(. May God / Allah grant her a quick recovery and patience for your family - Amen / Ameen.
On an aside - I've found a resolve for my stability issues using the latest BIOS's - Upping the VDDA from standard 2.5 to 2.6 - I'm rock solid prime95 stable for 18+hours on 4ghz @ 1.428v and NB on 2600Mhz (yay!) at 1.225v - thats 200mhz more than I've ever had on my CPU-NB
No more messing for me - tired of overclocking this system lol  - I'll leave the rest to the big fish here
Try this one. Build date is 20/8/10

BINGO13, go take care of your daughter. my grandma just gave us a scare. she broke her arm in 2 places above the elbow, and at the hospital they said she had a problem with her heart, so im just waiting to hear anything while at home.
it still overvolts like a mother.
Update: i think i picked up 120 MHz on the 1055t overclock
BINGO My prayers are with you. I am sorry to here that about your daughter. I know what you are going though this is my second time also..
for those who are still waiting for an update for M3N-HT board: i just got the following message from asus support:
---
Thank you for contacting ASUS Customer Service.
Sincerely sorry for the delay due to the system error.
Due to some hardware limit and some compatibility problem with nVidia chipset, some power management features of Phenom 2 can not be supported currently. But our engineer will make efforts on some known problem, please focus on our download page for updates.
Thanks for your understanding.
If you continue to experience issues in the future, please do not
hesitate to contact us.
Best Regards,

I've told them the folowing bugs:
1) Bios hides P3-State from Operating System. Phenom 2 X6 have 5 P-States, 4 "normal" one and the B0 for TurboCore. Bios only offers B0, P0, P1, P2 to the operating system. So the energy saving P3 state is not available, CPU will only downclock to 1600MHz instead of 800Mhz.
2) There is no option in Bios to disable TurboCore.
3) Downcore Option in Bios offers only downcoring to 1 core, not to 1 to 5 Cores.
I think I'll take a look for a new mainboard...
>>>Cyber
strange thing is bios cant handle the additional P state
but tools like PhenomMrsTweaker can handle all P states easy
so just disable cool and quiat and handle it with the software tool
the only reall fix needed is disable option for turbo in bios
and im happy i can handly all cpu settings with software tools
just a poor attempt from bios setting turbo states random
doesnt fit good together with any software tools that also manage p states
Hi guys is this normal?
CPUID Hardware Monitor showing the following volts on stock setting 0055.
+12: 11.73v
+5: 4.96v
+3.3: 3.55V
The +3.3 seems pretty off, is this a normal tolerance level?
Cheers
thats pretty close to the ATX spec :S
10% is allowed according to the ATX spec but even then thats not good. If you look at jonnygurus site youll notice that he frowns upon greater than 3% fluctuation.
What series corsair is it and how old is it?
sorry to bother you with that once again bingo, but are there any news regarding the M4A79?
I've just seen that the M4A79T already got a new bios. Thanks :)
Don't know about others but for me it's not a "plus" to use the downclock feature;way ? cose when i do so i get little lags in movies from the change 800-1600 (maybe something wrong with my settings)
If i set in windows to change from 1600 above then the lags in movies are gone, but from 800 to above it lags.
So if in movies lags a little what can i expect ingames ?
If you have any advices pls post them.(it could be from bios no ideea)
M3A79T-deluxe (1703 ) / AMD Phenom2 X4 940 3Ghz / 8Gb RAM / Palit Sonic 512 DDR5
I tryed latest bios too same thing happening.
Maybe when will change to a x6 1090T the downclock will work better.
Has anyone done any comparisons between the C4F's 0055 beta and the 1102 release bios?
I'm going to try flashing 1102 tonight, hopefully it'll take.. ;)
BTW: Bingo, I'm not a religious man, but my heart goes out to your daughter, she's in my thoughts!
I wish you and your family the best,
Dave
Following up on this post, as it's becoming increasingly difficult to post, I've dropped down to two memory sticks. After doing this the 3.3V reading (confirming this is under ITE IT8721 on CPUID Hardware Monitor) is now reading as 3.07V.
Is this normal for firmware 0055 or could I have a a faulty motherboard?
Cheers
@GMScribe: I wouldn't put all that fait in HWMonitor =)
What are your readings in Asus PcProbeII ?
Alternative HWiNFO32?
I would trust thoose more ;)
hwmonitor voltage readings are off with this mobo, use pcprobe or check voltages in the bios.
I see what you mean guys, readings seem much better on PC Probe II.
vcore 1.34
cpu/nb 1.15
cpu vdda 2.51
dram 1.57
ht 1.21
nb 1.12
sb 1.11
3.3 3.31
5 5.06
12 12.11
It'll be interesting to see if any of this changes should I put my memory back in.
Hi guys, any news or status on m3a79-t deluxe board? Im little bit confused, because bingo13 on page 10 posted a 1609 beta and on page 16 he is still talking about m3a79 bios.
i bought 1055T, and i can get it only to 3700 stable, nothing else.
only multiplier which is accepted by board is 14, everything else doesnt work (ie: if i put 260x15-3900, bios show OC 4880, everest same 4880, but when I run linx a get only 42Gflops, with 3700 I have 53 Gflops with ddr2 880Mhz)
has anyone tried 1609 beta...are multiplicators working?
and can I flash 1608 back if something wouldnt working? - I saw on some boards you cant flash back older versions
thanks
edit: so im running 1609, multiplicator still doesnt work, cant get more than 3700. What I see as benefit from 1608 is that I can run 3700 on lower voltage. Wiht 1608 I had 1.43V in bios...now im running on 1.35V, but when running linx cpuz and hwmonitor gives me 1.42V
i'm m4a89gtd-pro user (no usb3.0) bios 1606 from official website
is it me only, that i found when i plug in the hdmi to onboard to boot, my pc shows no post screen and no keyboard flashing, just stuck like that...
but when i use vga it's just fine....weird... coz i tested the monitor on my wife's 785g onboard and it's fine.
Thirdman, I can double check that later today for you.
Having some issues with the 1609 for the m3a79
1st For some reason the HT link override function in the BIOS is FUBARD!!
On 275 HT and it set to auto i get a HT speed of 1100mhz which is the default 4 times. Now if i set it to 10x i still get 1100mhz
Now if i turn on the override to 2Ghz i instantly get a speed of 2750 so WTF
2nd Memory dividers seem to be screwy as well as i cant boot with RAM at 1:1 :s It will either go HIGHER or LOWER than what the HT is set to. E.g i can run my ram at 667 or 1066 no issue. Set to 800 and then all mayhem ensues :S
thanx alot man~
coz i already checked the lcd on my wife's onboard igp (m4a785-m) and it works fine with hdmi.
and this m4a89gtd-pro is the 2nd one that has the problem with 1606 bios (also tried 1602 / 1605 bios, but same result tho) and i also tried 2 different hdmi cables too...weird.
just picked up a crosshair iv formula. as expected vdroop of around .05 (sometimes a bit more) for both cpu-nb/cpu. HTT also drifts. hopefully this can be sorted with a bios update.
board had 1005 on it already.
tested 0055.
same vdroops and htt swings.
with llc on (cpu), when set at ~1.27, it will shoot to ~1.42 at idle at various times for a few seconds. at load it stays around where it should be. concerned to stay running with it, as things could shoot up well in to the 1.5v range while pumping up the voltage. this is reading in everest beta.
will test with llc off tonight.
wow i just cant believe the vcore jumping.
at ~1.32 it gets up to 1.48 just sitting there. this is with 0055 and 1102. in various monitoring tools. i dont seem to spot it in bios.
i dont feel comfy clocking it like this (if this jumping is really what is ocurring).
bingo, all, any thoughts on this?
Update-
1. 890GX board having problems with two NV cards - Random beyond belief in regression testing, but after checking several user configurations we have the problem narrowed down to certain vBIOS inconsistences between cards, drivers, and the BIOS. Working on a final solution now.
2. 890FX - beta BIOS releases with greater LLC control coming soon.
3. M4A/M4N/M3A/M3N - Finally have some AGESA code tweaks coming that will tighten up the voltages on the X6 family and allow slightly better overclocking but that will be about the best we can do on those chipsets.
4. I am back on a consistent basis. :)
^^ Hope your daughter is doing well.
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
With BIOS 1606 if I put USB drive before boot, BIOS change the boot order to boot from it.
How to reproduce:
Put usb stick into port, turn on PC, go to BIOS, the first boot device is usb drive. Change boot order to boot from HDD, save changes, system starts from HDD. Now turn off system, remove USB stick, turn pc on, wait until OS starts, put usb stick back, and reboot system - boot order changed, and first boot drive is usb now. This is very annoying, please, roll back this change or at least make it configurable.
Also, if I put usb stick in port when system boots, it hangs.
This is both regression from 1456
still need someone to confirm the problem of onboard hdmi booting issue.
OK wow first failed boot on 8GB, maybe it really is this mobo, time to test the memory in another machine!
[QUOTE=bingo13;4568737]Update-
2. 890FX - beta BIOS releases with greater LLC control coming soon.
looking forward to this. really need tighter control over voltages.
Hello...
Any news regarding BIOS BOOT support for OCZ's Revodrive on the Crosshair IV Formula?
http://www.hitechreview.com/uploads/...RevoDrive1.jpg
It's an interesting drive indeed and it's not supported ATM on this motherboard :(
Hmmm... anyone?
Ahhh... Thank you!
I've been reading about the drive and it doesn't seem to be THAT good anyway. Performance at the 4K level is similar/inferior to top of the range SSDs and that's what matters for Windows loading/application operation. I guess i'll wait some more time to see how it goes.
Just hope we can get the M3N-HT deluxe stable. I am about to turn one into a HTPC + Storage Server..
Bingo13 , any advice about what BIOS is better: 1608 from ASUS download page or 1609 that you posted?
Tomorrow i'll get my 1090T and i want to know what's best for my M3A79-T Deluxe.
Wow, thats wierd...
I'm in the middle of a Steam DL so I can't try it right now...
But I tried it using the Bios flash option and it gave me errors, saying 1102 wasn't a valid file.
Thanks for the tip, maybe it's because I'm trying from a HD...
I'll put the bios file on a flash drive and try it form there. :yepp:
Thanks
Hi dudes, I got the CH4, 0055 bios.
A phenom 1090t.
And some gskill 2133mhz ram.
4hgz cpu, 2ghz mem, and 3ghz cpu-nb and ht.
I can post screenshots and more specs later.
I just wanted to post this for now and I can worry about the other thigns later.
Need:
More mem stability for higher then 2000mhz mem clocks.
I can get memtest stable at 2133mhz at decent timings np, but getting s&m stable nope...
More cpu-nb stability for speeds higher then 3000mhz.
I can run 3000mhz at low voltages, but to even boot into windows at say 3250mhz is a pain and requires way way to much voltage.
And in the end I can never get it 100% stable anyways at 3250mhz.
Adjustable power states for the cpu.
PhenomMsrTweaker screws up and my cpu gets stucks with only 2 working power states.
I need the bios to doit instead.
At the very least I'de like to beable to have control on the turbo mode cpu voltage.
An example of what I'de like to beable to do:
3000 12x 1.037500v, sm stable
3250 13x 1.093750v, HWMonitor 1.10v/1.12v 37.6c sm stable
3500 14x 1.159375v, HWMonitor 1.16v/1.18v 40.5c sm stable
3750 15x 1.228125v, HWMonitor 1.24v/1.26v 44.5c sm stable
4000 16x 1.334375v, HWMonitor 1.34v/1.37v 52.5c sm stable
1.334375v BIOS = 1.37v-1.38v DMM 1.4v VID
1.228125v BIOS = 1.26v DMM 1.3000v VID
1.159375v BIOS = 1.19v DMM 1.2250v VID
1.093750v BIOS = 1.13v DMM 1.1625v VID
1.037500v BIOS = 1.07v DMM 1.1125v VID (spot on if not a tad more)
P4 12x 3000 1.1125v/1.25v
P3 13x 3250 1.1625v/1.25v
P2 14x 3500 1.2250v/1.25v
P1 15x 3750 1.3000v/1.25v
P0 16x 4000 1.4000v/1.25v
CPU L1/L2/L3 ECC I don't think is working, at least from what everest says.
Booting is annoying...
The dmi screen countdown (which is nice, bu when you have little options to control it it's annoying).
The 2 seperate post logo screens, before dmi and after dmi, why 2...
The 2nd even says press this or that to get into bios setup, by that time, it's to lait to be pressing any keys anyways...
And with raid enabled, it's pretty darn annoying and slow to boot.
I can boot win7 faster then I can boot the board...
To put it bluntly, if the bios is set to quick boot essentually, it shouldn't take 12-15secs to boot.
There is little to no options for the pcie bus config.
PCIE speed limit of 150mhz is way to low.
250mhz or higher would be nice.
Not sure until I buy another psu, but at the moment both my 8600gt and 240gt is not 100% stable on this board.
Not sure if it's a problem with the board is that I don't have quite enough power.
I used to have issues in codmw2 and bbc2.
Though these days I only have probs with mafia2 and sometimes (not offen) random crashes on flash stuff.
I've also seem some oddities with the card's themselves on this board which leads me to belive it's releated to my psu or the board's pcie bus.
Examples:
Rarely, gpu errors in my windows logs (rmlogging enabled).
Gpu-z sometimes not being able to figuer out what sort of vga card I have (happens on both my cards sometimes).
The pcie bus sometimes running at pcie 2.0 mode with a 8x link speed.
Every crash or lockup that I still have is releated to the vga card in some way or another it seems...
Stuff I used to have issues with:
Call of duty modern warfare 2
Battlefield bad company 2 (even worse then codmw2...)
Stuff I still have issue with from time to time:
Mafia 2 (Soemtimes I can play for hours, other times it crashes or locks within so many mins of play).
Online flash video's (opera as the browser), rarely crash or lock on these but it does happen so I know it's not just mafia 2 that screws up.
Then again I am using opera (buggy by nature I guess you could say)...
Some hd controller options in the bios, I believe it was the 1st 2 controllers that have more options in the bios then the other ones.
Missing some spread spectrum options, I think the south bridge is one example.
And what does it mean that when have both south bridge + north bridge spread spectrum enabled it cuases corruption?
I can't remember the specific error msg, but it's listed somewhere in the bios in some hidden settings.
PCIE slots I think are a mm to short...
I have issues getting my 240gt to post because the heatsink sits right on top of the adjecent pci slots.
And when I do, sometimes i'm only able to use half of the pcie slot..., ie getting stuck in 8x mode and having to re-insert the card again.
And what is the deal with releasing the ch4 extreme?
I waited months for that board to come out, it never did so I baught this, for around $250.
If you guys are truly releasing the extreme ver then you should allow us an upgrade from the formula ver for a small fee.
Because I wouuld of never baught this board if the extreme had been out.
That kinda ticks me off...(actually I'm pretty pissed off about it, paying $250 for a mid ranger)
Pwm heatsink is a few mm to high.
I mean there's a few mm gap between the heatsink and the pwm.
I had to keep the thermal pads on the pwm because of this.
The asus temp probe 2 software or whatever it's called does not work in my win7 os or win2k3 os because it tries to use wmi or something to get performance info from windows.
And even if it did work I don't like the interface anyways...
Hwmonitor works, but is spyware.
Also it's missing to much...
Everest works good but it takes up to much ram...
I'm finding myself wishing that the asus software was decent...
Are you serious about your demands ? 250Mhz PCI-E ? Where have you seen that value before ? Ya heatsink problem is so lol ? Your GT240 cooler is probably too big, not the PCI-E that are too low. SB spectrum control ? You want a step up to the CH IV E coz you couldn't wait another week ? Your list is endless... and not always reasonable...
What cooling are you using, if it's air or water, sorry mate over 3000NB will be a pain... And your rig is not stable, but it's the boards fault... ow boy... is it April fools already ?
Ya I'm serious...
250mhz pcie is easy on dfi boards.
Though I thaught 250mhz was to low of a speed, but stuck at 150mhz is much worse.
I could actually use more pci/pcie speed though.
I'm on stock cooling right now.
Ya my 240gt's heatsink is to big, but if the slots were just 1mm taller it would be alot better.
I know it's way to late to change that but in the future, it would be nice to have a slightly taller pcie slot.
They are alot shorter then the pci slots...
Spread spectrum, I use this...
Hence why I want the rest of it, I know there's more hidden away...
I don't see why nb speeds over 3ghz are so hard to get.
My voltage I think is 1.125v for the cpu-nb or close to that.
I need around 1.4v to boot into windows at higher speeds :\.
I know something can be done about that.
Stability...
I'm unsure if it's my board or my psu.
I can pass s&m normal length 2 times in a row, prime, intelburn test, superpi, etc, all np.
But when it comes to vga, certain things just screw up on my system.
I've tried 2 diff cards, both worked 100% in my dfi.
I'm getting another psu in a few months though, a corsair or seasonic I'm not sure which yet.
But what do I do if the psu isn't the problem ?
Throw the $250 board in the garbage because I can't return it ?
I've already tried every voltage, speed setting that there is.
I still crash even at lower then stock speeds.
Even disabled spread spectrum settings, tried everything I think.
My stability went from 100%, no crashes even on vga, on my stock bios 801.
When I flashed the 905, I lost that stability.
I was never able to get it back fully.
Even when I flashed back.
At 1st, cpu-nb voltage needed to be adjusted.
But my mem wasn't 2000mhz stable.
I dn what I did but that eventually came back.
But my vga is still wacked :\.
Yes I've tried lower pci-e speeds...
It helps a little on my 240gt.
But not at all on my 8600gt.
My 240gt needs a tiny bit more pcie voltage, then it's stable.
But still less reliable then the 8600gt.
My psu voltages look ok, I can't remember where exactly they are at, around 12.10 or 12.16v.
It fluctuates around 0.01v which is decent enough.
I haven't tried using 2 psu's at once, but I only have 4 crappy fans running anyways.
I'm using maybe 20w's max on my fans.
That may make up the 30w's diff between the 8600gt and the 240gt, but if power is my issue, then it won't fix it by taking a measly 20w's off my load.
When I got the ch4, it was another 2-3 months before the extreme was mentioned to go retail.
I sat with money in my pocket for 3-4 months waiting for the extreme to come out, figure it wouldn't so I got the formula.
Now only a few months later diff sites out there are saying that the extreme has gone retail.
I'de pay another $50 to swap this board if I could.
Pretty darn pricey, but I'm not gonna stick with a mid range board if there's a better one out there with the same chipset.
Mem stability wise...
I can do 2133 memtest stable at 8-9-7 cmd1.
2000mhz, so close to stable at 8-9-6 cmd1.
Cpu clocking wise I don't see much of a problem, with a decent heatsink I could clock higher.
I've got my cpu voltage to the lowest ratio it will allow in the bios.
And to be onest it much higher then what I need for voltages :\.
Everest benches:
12k, 10k and 17k for mem bandwith right now.
I've got the mem in single chan mode.
...
Oh, dual chan mode has a hard time working at fsb speeds past 240mhz...
Forgot to mention that, that was kind of important.
The ganged mode thing...
Edit:
Getting a new psu and vga card in a few months.
Going for a nv 465.
I only get $80 a month to collect up on though for it'll take a few.
Cigs and weed cost money too...
Getting the new psu 1st though.
Should only take me 2 months ^^ :\.
My list is quite small considering what I want in the bios.
I only mentioned the important things ^^.
First upgrade ya cooling. So you are doing 4ghz/3000Mhz NB speed on boxed cooler ? Impressive
FYI Ganged kills performance... Sweetspot is somewhere else on this board...
I'm so puzzled by your posts, most of my GPU's don't even like anything above 115-120Mhz for 3D... Have you seen a performance increase with real tilme stuff with such high PCI-E speeds ?
and i thought i was :banana::banana::banana::banana:ed up :p:
i got at BOX 4150 MHz wprime 1024M and 4550 MHz validation :).
I've only seen small increases with higher pci and pcie speeds.
Generally these days the mem bandwith doesn't change with an increase of the pci/pcie bus like it used to.
Mainly what I want it for is pcsx2.
That thing is pretty hungry for vga texture upload bandwith.
Increasing to 150mhz might net say 4fps more but I haven't checked.
Lowering from 9t in mem to my 8-9-7t timings got me another 5fps in pcsx2 though.
5fps in pcsx2, is not that small ;).
Especially when you're fighting to get it past 60fps with a cpu at 4ghz :).
(in certain cases, some ps2 games use need alot more power)
What I'de like to do is keep the pcie bus 1:1 with the fsb or 2:1 (500 pcie : 250mhz fsb).
In the past I haven't had much probs getting higher then normal bus speeds.
It all depends on the board.
Some board can clock good, most can't.
This asus ch4 seems like it can though.
150mhz is doable I know it is.
On my dfi ut 790fx-m2r 250mhz pcie, the limit in the bios, was pretty easy to do with a few bumps of the voltages.
Not all cards can doit though.
Most nvidia cards can.
The vga card's mem gets power hungry at higher bus speeds though, always seems to on every single card I've tried.
Sometimes I don't need to do anything, but other timees I need to up the bus voltage.
If I remember right, the south bridge needed a tiny bit more voltage on my older board too, I think it used the pcie bus to comm between the nb and sb.
I should probably double check that on this board...
I just thaught about something.
I redid the heatsinks on this board twice so far.
The 1st time my nb temps got over 60c when before hand it reached around 40c.
I had moved the screws to diff spots on the board, pwm, sb and nb screws.
When I put it back together it worked better.
Back to around the 40's for nb temp.
If the nb was having a prob that would explain my vga card probs, I think the pcie lanes for the top pcie slot are hooked to the nb and not the sb.
At least it was that way on my dfi.
If grinding down all of the screws a few mm helps I might just try that.
Might be my prob right there...
Yeah my cpu is a nice one, I'm surprised it does 4ghz on stock cooling myself.
:)
I do need to replace my modded enermax 350w psu though lmao.
I really think I'm cutting it close with that thing.
I'll brb
Edit:
Cpu voltage: -0.0625v
Cpu-nb voltage: 1.125v
I have c&q enabled, with turbo enabled.
14x cpu ratio, turbo @ 16x.
It works well enough, the voltages are a bit higher then what I really need though.
I'll post my bench in everest.
Some of my secondary timings are higher then what they probably need to be though, I up'ed them thinking I was fixing my vga issue, lol..
Err attachments not working in opera...
Can you please shut the *** up and stop talking bull:banana::banana::banana::banana:?250MHZ on pci-e is fantasy, never done or could be ever attainable.Give us some proof,i could easily say i got 5 GHZ CPU-Nb but i have no proof...i mean come on...
I don't know how I'm gonna do that when my dfi board isn't put together.
That and everest is the only one I knew of that showed that info, and now it seems to don't anymore, at least on this board it doesn't.
The dfi is going to my mom so I'll check everest when I put it together for her.
Dfi club is down so all of my posts related to figuering out how to get 250mhz stable are gone.
I'm not lying about it, I don't see what is so hard to believe.
It's pretty easy to do...
Even if everest could show me the pcie speed on this specific board, well, with what it shows for fsb I wouldn't trust it.
Supposed to say 250mhz fsb...
But it says 271.
But anyways to make you happy I'll post a screenshot of 250mhz pcie in a few days.
Edit:
New bios out for the ch4.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...-ASUS-1102.zip
Ftp dates it to 09-10.
I'm glad since the 905 bios that the built in bios flasher doesn't lockup when it finds fat64 partitions lol.
That used to suck.
Err nm, it's an old bios, I allready had that one.
Stupid date confused me.
With it being 10-9 today.
lol :\
Ok one more edit:
Latest everest beta fixes the fsb readings.
Still no pcie reading though.
I'll build my mom's system tonight I guess so I can get this out of the way.
It says 271 because you have the FSB on 271, a FSB of 271 gives me exactly the same memory speed, CPU/NB and HT frequency and memory bandwidth. Your full of s**t.
No I was at 250mhz fsb, not 271...
Newest everest beta fixes that on that screen.
Benchmark and overclock pages didn't have that prob though.
Besides, I have a heck of a time at 275mhz, I wouldn't be messing around at speed when I need 266 stable 1st.
Edit:
Now I would be full of it if I said this was stable ->
I can't use superpi mod ver's on my systems, but don't believe me, I'm full of :banana::banana::banana::banana: ^^.
Ehh whatever.
And right there i stopped to read/care...
Where is a moderator when you need one?
Put/Move all his b*s* in a own thread, and after that also remove this post as it won't be needed anymore.
We are discussing current/upcoming beta bioses in this thread, nothing else please!
And where's Prime95 screen? I bet it will shut down/lock up/blue screen in a minute, or immediately. I haven't seen any stability screen - only everest memory benchmark and SPi...common, this doesn't proof anything.
And as nex_73 said - this belongs to another thread, but I couldn't resist writing something about these insane posts. Your system is crashing randomly? Guess what - it's not stable!
He didn't say 250Mhz PCI-E, he said clearly 250FSB or HT clock for the everest screenshot... keep open mind guys...
I'm already shocked the rig boots at the clocks with them volts (undervolting the VID)... must be a gem CPU... I need 1.41Vcore to get 4Ghz stable with only 2750Mhz NB and 2000Mhz on the rams...
But indeed we need some more proof to believe it...
Keep on topic...
Quote (No I was at 250mhz fsb, not 271...
Newest everest beta fixes that on that screen.)
I use the same beta version and 250 fsb shows as 250 and 271 as 271.
250 bus is a 25% overclock, if you look at his benchmark he has a 33% overclock. Also if you work it out you get that memory speed and CPU/NB frequency with a 271 fsb not 250.
My apologies if this is off thread.
talkin Of beta bios is there goinn to be a fix for the 3870x2 graphics cards Errors In The Event viewer
Driver PCI returned invalid ID for a child device (AA854810B5000EDF60):wierd:
Come on already where is the bios for the M3NHT Deluxe. Asus do you even care anymore god all the other companies have had stable bios's for months, why don't you. Please release a beta soon I want my hexacore to work. I am using my 955 at 4GHZ right now until a beta comes out if it even does.
Cyber go ask them to mod a bios at Bios-mods.com
+1 to a reduction on boot time please.
It takes longer to boot my mainboard than load my operating system!
Sits there for nearly 10 to 15 seconds from the moment I press power - to the point it get to the initial BIOS screen! :(
And before you guys ask - no I ain't got any Asus expressgate rubbish enabled or anything like that lol!
thanks in advance
Is there a chance to manually control (independently from the voltages) the leds on the Crosshair IV Formula via BIOS? If I could set them to red that would be great.:yepp:
hi bingo.
any luck on qualifying the new 890fx (crosshair iv) bioses for beta testing?
I'm just curious....
Has Asus given up on C4F bios now that the Extreme is out?
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but there are still quite a a few problems with a board that I paid close to $300 for...
Votage fluctuations are still a problem, there's still a floating HTRef (better but not fixed) and Turbo Core is still virtually useless. :(
On top of that, I haven't seen or heard anything about new bios for well over 5 weeks, be it beta or release.
I've been an Asus fan since the M3A79-T Deluxe, but I'm pretty disappointed with the support for what I thought was a top of the line board....
I upgrade often (probably too much), and quite honestly I think I'll be looking at MSI or Gigabyte for my next mobo purchase, especially if I'm going to go for top of the line... :shakes:
Despite the fact that I love a topic for new beta bios releases (thanks Bingo13) , I have to say I'm quite disappointed with the frequency of updates and quality of the bioses alltogether .
A new platform is launched soon, think most of the focus is on there to get it out at the launch date... think we all need to hold on and be patient
Few updates from bingo with big intervals BUT he doesn't have to do that and yet he does so BIG thanks.
M3A79-T Deluxe user here
But what makes me a little upset is ASUS ; from 09.07.2010 when they posted the 1608 BIOS till now they still didn't updated the CPU suport list
http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx
If you search by CPU you don't find any info that M3A79-T Deluxe supports x6 CPU's
If you search by Motherboard you don't find any X6 CPU's to be supported
So ,for a normal user that only uses ASUS webpage for information x6 CPU's are not supported by M3A79-T Deluxe.
Lucky me that i know this forum.
Those that think this is ASUS tactic to manipulate users to update the card maybe are right maybe are wrong but one thing is clear users dont have to chose an ASUS card again.
Anyway , Bingo we are waiting for your updates; and maybe u give to the ASUS team that make updates to the webpage a kick in the right direction :)
No news for the M4A79 yet?
