Still sounds like a bad flash to me
Are you using Dos flash, EZflash or windows flash utility?
i tried it with all of them and the bios do the same think :(
is there any possibility that the latest bios don't like my cpu ? :p
it's on AM2 3800+ x2
Memory with Everest, anyone else says the same? BIOS 1406
http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/4766/memorytr0.png
On my M3A79-T Deluxe board I have "Supported Memory Types DDR2-400 SDRAM, DDR2-533 SDRAM, DDR2-667 SDRAM, DDR2-800 SDRAM, DDR2-1066 SDRAM, DDR3-800 SDRAM, DDR3-1066 SDRAM" the same as you.
Thanks...... Interesting
the same thing happens on intel chipsets that support DDR2 And DDR3 besides what the board can support
yea its been saying that it supports ddr3 for a long time now. because the chip is on there it just can't be used. although i don't even think ddr3 800 exists and phenom II can run ddr3 1066 and ddr3 1333.
those are just reference speed i thing same as ddr2 400
So how is this board with Phenom II? I just ordered one, the WiFi flavour, and I don't know if I made the right decision.. Well I didn't really have a choice, there are very few AMD boards available in this third world country I live in.. :shakes:
Just got my Ph2 940 today. Running 3,7ghz @ 1,40v atm, 35 deg C idle, 48 deg C under load. Had some trouble getting all 8Gb of RAM to run properly but it turned out to be my own fault :)
Aiming for 3800+ 24/7 in my gaming rig with comfortable temps. Massive upgrade already from my 6000x2 :) The difference is VERY noticable. Recommended buy!
I took some pictures of the chip before I put it in but they happened to turn out unreadable ofcourse so I don't have the full stepping numbers.
CPU-Z @ 3811, 1,44 volts, same temps :) (Seti and gaming stable, haven't primed yet).
Clickable pic. Didn't figure out how to post pix here yet!
http://bildr.no/thumb/325219.jpeg
Gonna try for some more tomorrow but don't really have a lot of time before the weekend. I want to se what my HT limits are too. Chip seems to be ok tho :)
stepping here is 0848FPAW
80343
Nice one DYM
Ok it isn't stable at those volts and 3800. Seems like somewhere between 3700 and 3800 is my sweet spot.

yay i was waiting for a new bios. anyone try this yet? i see it supports the new phenom II tri cores now too.
hey i am thinking about getting a nh-u9b does anyone think i might have issues using this cooler with the mempipe when the air is going out the back?
Hi all ;D
I have this motherboard asus m3a32-mvp deluxe with amd 64 x2 6000+ procc..and 2x 1gb 1066mhz ram...hd 4850 graphics..
Now I am interested in AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE Black Edition AM3 CPU.
How will this processor works for my system, will be any notice different... i use this comp for playing games, and it works fine.
Is there really big diffrent between x2 6000+ and phenom II x3 or x4 soo i could said "wow this rocksss"
Because some people said that dual core is very good for gaming.
If the performance is about 20% faster then this will be super.
Have fun ;D
Stock vs stock,ie 720BE vs 6000+, you can expect at least 20% in games, maybe even more.Agena(Phenom I) was about 15-20% faster in games than X2(K8).Deneb(PhenomII) is around 10-25% clock for clock better in games than Agena,so you can do the math yourself :)
Plus, you can OC the 720BE easily to 3.5GHz near stock volts,so you gain another 25% compared to stock 2.8Ghz clock for this chip.
Thx for your reply, yes i was searching now on google and really x3 720be is very good as you said 15-25% faster. On asus hp i see i must have a new bios 1502 for phenom II x3 720be.
I hope this will works fine for my comp :D
Have fun ;D
so that red circle in amd overdrive is boost mode. im trying to turn this off but everytime i make the change in aod when i reboot its back on. i have turned off auto express and cpu tweak and i don't know what would turn it off. it keeps overriding all the settings i am making for the nb.
In AOD make sure that you dont have a check in the Perference/ Misc mode. Where is says apply my last settings when system boots......try that amd let me know. also what chip are you running if its the 940 I think its built into the chip like ACC. I had the same thing with my 940 and this mobo
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/9...perference.png
yea i got a 940, i checked that box tho and it fixed that problem. i can change my nb settings now, thanks.
thinking about getting the 940 BE....
does this cpu have a lower TDP than the 9850 BE? therefore would it be cooler?
i have it at 3.0 ghz @ 1.375v under a Xigmatek RS-1283 and i get about 38-41C idle/low load (room temp is about 65-70F)
wondering what type of temps i would be getting with the 940BE at stock
sorry to bring this thread from the dead....i want to get in on the new phenom II action.
anybody try the 955 on this board yet?
curious as to see how it runs
im still runnin 1406 bios so im surei d have to update to new bios version i think there up to 1604 now?
im still running 1406 as well but 1406 should still work for the 955 as it was either that version or the one before that added am3 support. i havent found a reason to upgrade to 1604 yet.
can we unlock cores with this mobo?
edit: i guess it must be 710 and 750 SB
According to ASUS you need the 1604 BIOS for the 955BE CPU. IDK from experience since I upgraded to 1604 when I dropped in the 940BE.
I couldn't check the memory issue, if any, since the TRUE won't allow 4 sticks of RAM ...
Using 955BE on 1705 was impossible, BSOD all the time, after back to 1604 problems gone. Now with 8gb ram 1066 kingston hyper x, 700w Be quiet, and gtx 285 top, everything seems to be ok.
Thanks for sharing that information - I definitely will NOT update the BIOS ... ;)
has anyone gotten pci express 2.0 working on this board? for each slot there's 2 options in the bios but only 'autonomous software switch' works without crashing windows xp for me. any ideas?
I just install an am3 Athlon II X4 620 propus cpu on this mobo and i having difficulty overclocking, specifically its not letting me load win7 with a lower memory divider when i overclock the fsb.
i have the memory in my sig 4 x 1gb corsair dominators ddr2 1066 5-5-5-15
also running bios 1903
i tried 250 x 13 so i lowered the memory divider to 1:4 and it put the memory at 1000mhz but it wont boot, so i have to restart and change it back to stock 3:8... its well below the rating of the memory so im not sure whats happening...
i will upload bios screen shot when i get home for more help
is it because i have an older sb600??
And you set your RAM timings and voltage manually ...?
yeah ive done a bunch of different combos and tweaking, doesnt seem to like anything above 210 FSB, haha fail.
here are some bios screens of what i was try to accomplish, which i think is well under the capability of my cpu/memory
i heard 3.25 ghz is the sweet spot for the athlon II X4 620...
put plenty of volts to the cpu, or do i need more?
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4041/...94f2e0aa3f.jpg
memory divider 1:4 so its at 1000mhz with 250 fsb
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4057/...0fde3a1b85.jpg
im thinking it could be my memory since i have 4 1066 sticks, maybe ill take 2 out and try different dimm combos...
but maybe i jsut need to update my mobo
any ideas?
Have you tried decreasing the CPU multiplier to make sure it's not the CPU ...?
Mmmm, that doesn't sound even remotely good. I suggest a hard reset on the CMOS ...
4 sticks of ram will for sure dampen your overclocking performance. I went from 2x1024mb ddr2-800 ocz platinum rev. 2 to 4x1024mb. It went from running ddr2-1000 5-5-5-15 to ddr2-800 at 4-4-4-12 and now I pretty much cant overclock my ram if I want a stable cpu overclock.
to the OP.
perhaps a better psu would allow a higher stable overclock like your friend?
that 12v rail looks painful :( considering it's idle.
i will take the battery out and clear cmos and try using 2 stick instead of 4 when i get home.
maybe my memory is getting tired.
i did run OCCT for an hr and it passed fine at default settings with 4 sticks...
i report back
i have a corsair psu which has plenty of power
ok i had some luck with just 2 sticks in the black colored dimms
i managed to get 3.25 ghz @ 1.45V and around stock memory freq... hey its a start right!?
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/...65c79764_o.png
bios settings were:
CPU 250 x 13 = 3250 @ 1.45v
CPU-NB @ 1.35v
HT link 250 x 8 = 2000 @ 1.3v
NB freq 250 x 9 = 2250
memory @ 2.1V
also changed from unganged to ganged
*weird* but better now ... :)
also another weird tid bit...
when i restart the machine, it doesnt wanna load the bios it just sits there at a blank screen (blank look on its face) haha...but if i shutdown and start back up again its fine.
passed 1hr OCCT test at those (above) settings fine though...
i might just get a newer mobo/memory setup...sb600 is gettin old...
or should i wait for 890FX? and just get newer ddr2 memory in the mean time.
anyways at least its nice that im running at stock phenom II 965 speeds :-)
If you're talking about a warm boot my s939 has done that ever since I cranked it above a 240 MHz clock. Always starts up fine on a cold boot though. Besides, my rigs run 24/7 so I start-up issues have never bothered me ... ;)
got 4 sticks of 1066 working but only @ 1000 mhz...
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4008/...7e27eb84_b.jpg
hmm maybe ill had another 5770 for CrossfireX, think my psu could handle it?
also lapped my 620 idles at 25C
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4007/...bb270f2b_b.jpg
sure getting the most out of this mobo, love Amd's upgrade path...i could technically put a Thuban on here, Right!?
A second HD5770 shouldn't be a problem for your PSU.
thanks funkflix
Are the timings those in your sig ? I think you might wanna try to loosen that "22" and make it 25-26 or a little bit more to reach 1066Mhz...I'm using 4 sticks of 2GB at 1066MHz also, but 5-5-5-15-26 and runs just fine...At 25 i had rare bsods, so i changed it...
Hey,
I have mb m3a32 mpv deluxe with x3 720 be and 4x1gb hyperx running at 800mhz-unganged mode (org. ram is 1066mhz),my cooling is asus silent square pro..
Now i am running stable at 3.4ghz (200x17-- 1.5V), so can i go higher? can i overclock ram speed to 1066?
Anybody who have the same hardware? :D
Have fun
if your ram can do 1066 go into bios goto ram setting set it to manual 1066 2t enabled auto for timings till you see if your ram is capable. then you can tighten them up to like 5-5-5-12-28 @ 1066 check your ram for voltage at that speed.
I change settings now they are:
13.5x250@3375mhz
vcore: 1.5
NB: 1.4
Now my ram is running at 1000mhz and system is stable.
That still seems like a lot of voltage. My 940BE is running 3525 (235x15) @ 1.36v with a cpuNB of 2350 MHz @ 1.225v ...
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1012507 :) ht @ 2600 @ auto volts, nb 2800 @ 1.3v
cpuNB 2800 MHz @ 1.3v ain't half bad!
I wish CPU-Z recorded that information ... *sigh*
not sure got rid of AOD. think i might need to bump the volts up another .05 on cpu and nb had a bsod before i left the house this morning. only had it in the system for 6 days.
whats k10stat? lol
gotta go talk to my friend google dont know what k10stat is LOL
here we go thanks will try this program tonight. http://aspiregemstone.blogspot.com/2...processor.html
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1013775 << hows this :)
ah yes like a co0l co0l co0l breeze
:)
Nice! :)
so what driver should I be using if I wanted to install a SSD on this sb600?
select AHCI in bios or should i run in on the marvell chip or sb600 chip?
looking to setup a 80g intel g2 ssd...
whats steps should i take before install Win7?
ie. firmware update and aligning drive?
Set AHCI on SB600, align, install using raid driver disk from ASUS site and then force to install latest Raid driver from AMD.
You can also increase your SB voltage a bit (up to 1.25) to get proper performance.
so i re-installed win7 home and theres an unknown device
ati I/O communications processor LPC
i cant seem to figure out which driver to use for this
help
Is it this one :
Name: ATI I/O Communications Processor LPC Controller
Device ID: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4377&SUBSYS_009F1025&REV_80\3&13C 0B0C5&1&A3
?
yeah i found it i think its the usb 2.0 driver
cool thanks
With M3a32 mvp can I unlock core on Dual or triple core?
I believe you need the SB 750 or SB710 to unlock cores. The M3A32 has the SB600 ...
Thank's :) for reply
http://pc-overware.be/forum2/index.p...ic,3244.0.html
Vmod for M3A32 mvp deluxe
What is that for and what is the other end of the blue wire hooked to ...?
Doh! Didn't look close enough at the quiggles down there!
I figured it exceeded the board max vCore but, face it, that would only be good for extreme cooling. I run water with some of mine and won't go over 1.55v even with that. I'm just chicken! LOL!
Link says that for air cooling resistor should be 100kΩ. Obviously this mod should be for xtreme cooling or very brave ones...
It must be soldered a trimmer 50 ~ 100kOhm connect to ground on the blue wire,
This assembly is turning over 1.70v Vcore max to 2v
If u want test a processor under ln2 or cascade cooling you can make it :)
No bios for x6 phenom?
Not yet. ASUS hasn't gotten around to doing any of the M3 boards, AFAIK ...
Crosshair III Formula is 6 core ready... same series of motherboard (790fx)
Not all 790FX boards are the same ASUS series. ASUS has boards that are M3A series (AM2+) and boards that are M4A series (AM3) - both series have 790GX and 790FX chipsets. All the M4A boards I've looked at are now updated, the M3As are not updated as yet. The Crosshair III, being an AM3 board, is not the same series as M3A, which is an AM2+ board ...
:banana::banana::banana::banana: ^^
What's the max fsb on M3A32 mvp?
Don't really know - never felt the need to test it. My board will go at least 260 'cause I've had it up that high but there was no reason to go farther. Once you get your RAM that close to 533 MHz using a 400 MHz RAM setting it's easier to change the setting and other multipliers than it is to continue increasing the clock ...
