you made your bed with tankguys...it is done for me...i know you love those guys..so let this be the final word...good night!

Ok then so be it, my quarrel was not with you personally. Only that you are making statements with no fact to them at all other than your personal disdain for the fact that you have not yet received your G0 yet, and understandably so, but it is not Tankguys fault as you have said.
Night:up:
LOL...you are an anomaly!
Wow... you guys are arguing over the internet. JUST STFU ALREADY!
ahh just chill out. I agree that my analogy might be bad :P but :banana::banana::banana: happens from time to time. There are other ways to get the G0. clubit.com or allstarshop.com
i suggest clubit.com if u want your proc by friday. i got mine this week and i am very happy provided the proc lives up to its expectations.
I don't see anything special about tankguys, they "screwed the pooch" on this one.
For those of you so fond of them.....I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day.
recived mine today! batch is L726A951 ... im still wating for the p5k deluxe board to come, so i will play early next week ...
for europe ppz that want to have G0, take a look at trend4pc.de (thats where mine came from) or alternate.de (first time that they specify steppig on their page) ...
My pair of G0s are on their way...
From e-bug-europe.com (germany) @ 255€.
Received another shipment from ClubIT -- L723A890
Ordered mine from clubit it took one more day then usual to ship, should have it tomorrow or monday, G0. it was like 304.99 after shipping
MinorThreat...... You a fan of the band or just a coincidence? :welcome:
tankguys tried very hard and got screwed, its as simple as that, clubit has been shipping them constantly, so who is better, i really dont know, i really think that tankguys tried to get people to order with them, and they couldnt come through, and they didnt do it on purpose, i guess their luck is bad. thats why i never preorder anything because u never know when the heck ur item is going to ship, they should have just sold them as they came, yes they tried hard but sometimes trying hard doesnt get u anywhere when ur lucks not with you.
There's a bit of a game going on here aside from the postings of batch/revisions. Some can see through the haze that some few other's are creating. Some can not. It's really as simple as that. Then there are those who can see through it and who simply don't care. They are in the majority :yepp:
Received from TankGuys today->
Q6600SLACR
Pack Date 07/27/07
FPO/BATCH L724A760
We've filled all pre-orders, and now have them in stock.
Indeed - the 13th ETA posted is from back when we printed the labels (expecting to ship then, prior to getting the B3's instead  )
It'll update itself tonight. The packages have been picked up, but that generally doesn't get updated until later tonight, should be around 7pm or so. If it doesn't, let us know and I can check into it.
Yea... I'm interested to know what you mean here, exactly, as I'm lost
Would love a more detailed explanation!
Latest arrival from ClubIT L723A674
Damn... ACE thats not very nice thing to say to Ben!
thank you...being a good christian demands me to reach down deep and try to be humble...some times its hard...LOL:D
is Tjunction 100c realistic? I find it hard to believe 4 cores can run at that temperature
You're right. Thermal spec for Q6600 'G0' is 71C.
http://processorfinder.intel.com/det...px?sSpec=SLACR
Hey what control did Ben have over that stunt that one of his suppliers pulled? The answer would be none! Obviously the guy lied to Ben just to make the sale and worry about damage control later and quite possibly he was conting on Ben to be passive about it and just keep the inventory like most would do!
oh boy...i re-read your post..the 1st time i read it i did not read the "NOT"...my mind wanted to see "that's very nice thing to say".
oh well, sorry to disappoint you but that's life...i made my point a few posts back...i do not care to inflame this whole situation again.
Just got mine in from ClubIT today:

For those not wanting to click on the pic, Batch L723A890
me too
this thread needs to go back to what it was, instead of tankguys or clubit, common guys whats done is done, noone messes up knowingly so lets see how these things overclock. well g0 are available now from both tankguys and clubit, so order up and post what u get, that sounds like a good idea doesnt it LOL.
:D...uh-huh!
WELL...mine is finally enroute...should have mine from TG's by monday PM.

received my "G0" today..
it is:
"SLACR"
BATCH: L720B066
PACK DATE: 08/03/07
it says on the box that it has a 1.35v Max.
going to break this puter down to install.
"B" chips are one hot sucker. Mine is a B too.
i saw anandtech.com review of the g0 quad and he also had the "b" chip and he could only get it stable at 3.4ghz. i got an A batch but my friend is bringing it over this week.
No I mean something like L724B or like your L720B
Anyone got a week 21? How's it clocking?
Just got back from Scan (UK) today with a G0 - L720B062.
Hope its a good one
so...you are getting right at 71C when prime 95 or orthos?...i don't think 71C is the ultimate limitation...your cpu will shutdown before it exceeds the magic temperature...you will see a windows freeze and if you have the board out on the bench, you will hear a definite unloading sound coming from all the fans....Tjunction is the main temperature to be concerned with....i doubt you will ever get close to that temp before the cpu will just shutdown automatically.
i went to 93C on air with a l724a639, with fully loaded vcore. no problem.
But is the Tjunction of 100c realistic or even read correctly by Coretemp?
I don't know if it's true that the CPU can protect itself from
over-temperature conditions in some cases of overclocking.
I found out that TM2, thermal management ver. 2,
the one that's implemented in the Q6600, works via
reducing the CPU's multiplier to its minimum value
(x6 for a Q6600), and the Vcore voltage may be changed
as well in that case to some lower value that it's supposed
to be able to run at stock FSB x6 at.
However if you've turned off in the BIOS some set of
features such as TM2, ACPI, or locked the CPU multiplier
instead of setting it on "AUTO" it's not clear to me that
the thermal overload based switching can or will still
occur. It'd be nice if the requirements for the scheme
were better documented and it was clear how much
responsibility ACPI has in that case and what effect
BIOS parameters like running the CPU on manual
volt / clock settings has on TM/TM2's ability to function.
Certainly if you've far overclocked the FSB and it *did*
somehow manage to reduce the multiplier to x6
*and* automatically changing Vcore to the 'stock'
266x6 operating value then it'd almost surely crash
because you'd probably be running it at some much
higher FSB like 400x6 @ the lower Vcore.
If it didn't change Vcore on you then you'd maybe switch
from x8 or whatever you were running to x6 at the same
Vcore and same FSB and the power reductions might not
be quite enough to cool the chip a huge amount if you
had a really high overclock and Vcore already. In the
worst case one wouldn't even NOTICE that had happened
and might keep pushing the OC or something.
Let's not forget that heat is the ultimate enemy when it comes to the life of electrical components. Just because you have run a chip fine @ 90+C does not mean you want it to run at that temp(or even close to it) on a regular basis. You will indeed SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the life span or your chip.
Here in the UK Scan has the Q6600 G0 stepping now in stock:-
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=643237
Around £11 cheaper than OcUK, if your a member of Hexus & a regular poster on the forums you will be entitled to free shipping as well.
Much better than ripoff OcUK.
@Ace-a-Rue so did you apologize to Ben from Tank Guys seeing how he delivered you a better chip than most on the forum got?
Just received this little number yesterday :)

3DMark06 - http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=2813388 - 13959
All on air with Thermalright Ultra-120Extreme lapped :)
Temps are fantastic, max FSB it would goto windows at was 522-523mhz and 4ghz is a pain on this mobo, but the chip will do it.
Very happy...thanks TankGuys :)
Sweet, glad these are doing well for you guys, that's the goal!! :D
Damn those B's appear to be freakin insane! Isn't this what happened with the E6600? The A's came out and they were good but then the B's hit and it was
I have been using prime95 as my be all and end all for stability. When i get home i'm gonna see what frequency i can hit just for running the benches.
prime95 v25.4 with roundoff checking is a must, esp when your trying lowest voltage/mhz. small ffts of course.
Just received a new Q6600 from TankGuys with the same stepping as "Wiggy McShades" and "ChaosMinionX".
Hope you guys will keep posting new results.
Anxious to see the results!
Received my Q6600 G0 from Alternate.DE today. Cannot find anything about this one yet: 726B027
Currently priming @ 400*8, 1.25V bios, P5K Premium.

Turn that Frown Upside Down and do the right thing:cord: :sofa: :buddies:
hmm, which G0 stepping cpu can do 3.8Ghz Orthos on all 4 cores with good water cooling? And aprox. at what voltage?
I need to know which one to take :)
720B seems about one of the best...from what i have read, but some others are doing well also 723A 724A 726A
It's not prime stable by any means(I can't check due to the fact it gets too hot for comfort when trying to run prime). But i have a 1m pi screen @ 3.8ghz. I'll post it up a bit later. My work prohibits access to image hosting sights.
http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/upl...54eef8d597.jpg
Any information about B3's 645A,717A,719B and 721A that's what we have here in austria @ this time I just can't decide what to get or just wait until G0's arrive here also somewhere in end of september.

still playing with her.
oh cmon, whats with these 10 minute prime threads. nothing but stable.
Go ...hmm
Ok yep it will do 3.6 on 1.45ghz on air with a high speed fan and a v1 but its hot as hell 65c folding after only a few minutes...i wish i hadnt been suckered in by all the hype...
Very disappointed in temps...
week 23
temps are perfectly normal. There was some hype on how the 'G0' runs cooler. There were also several posts of people warning that temps were being misread. As i and many other had posted there is NO WAY your chip can run below ambient temperature using air cooling. Many of us said it. Apparently there were a few that didn't believe common sense.
Dont' get me wrong. I'm not saying you don't have common sense. But at the same time you should not have expected a HUGE drop in temps. Overclocking has always been the luck of the draw and it always will be. Some chips overclock higher. Some run cooler. None are guaranteed to do anything but stock speed.
...
well i have yet to see many people post vaild primes longer then 4+ hours. :P
Anyhow, she was stable at 3 hours when i took her off. I wasnt too happy with the startup voltage @ 1.51, and full load voltage @ 1.49V. If she would start and load at 1.49V i would be more inclined to keep her there.
But heres 1.46Vcore idle, 1.44Vcore loaded:
6.5Hours. There you happy?
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...la/3.73ghz.jpg
Heh, love my load temps. :P
ill see what i can do naekuh when i get my evga 680i. this dfi 680i lt is driving me crazy.
Here's mine at 8 hours....small fft's for max. heat. Swiftech watercooled. Runs great :)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...6G0_A8_3.8.jpg
Just got mine last week at my local Microcenter, had the guy go to the back and look for me. Too back my OC is limited by the 975X chipset.. suxorz.
Just picked up one at Oregon Fry's.
L727A903, packed 8/14/07, SLACR.
It may be a while before I find out the VID etc.
since I still need a video card and I may hold out for
the G92 '9800GTX' series which will mean waiting until
October or so.
I may also hold off until I can get a water cooling setup
for it. We'll see.
Here's my L720B062...over 4hr's and stll going on DS4 R1.0.....cooling is TRU non Extreme....weather HOT!

not installed yet
Thats great news, seeing as thats exactly what dropped on my doorstep on friday...
Mine is exactly the same week/batch... an L720B062... Only put it in last night and just priming an initial overclock now. 2hrs 15mins so far and still going...

A good start considering my B3 needs 1.35v to get anywhere near prime stable @ 3.2ghz.
Question about the condition of new retail box chips
for all of you that have received any kind of
'Core' Duo or Quad Intel CPUs with an IHS.
Has anyone received Intel CPUs with a metal IHS
that has any kind of scratching on the IHS that
looks as if it might have been scratched by something
like a square heatsink or water-block?
I just noticed there are scratch marks on the IHS
of the CPU I have that looks like a square heatsink,
water block, or some kind of square metal thing has scraped the IHS.
I don't see any residue of grease on the IHS from
the inspection I've made so far through the package's
window, but I'll have to look at it in better light in the
morning.
The scratches are not that severe that I noticed them
at the store, though they're clearly visible in offset light.
The box looks like it's still sealed with the
'Intel Factory Sealed' tape in two places, and otherwise
I'd have no problem in believing it's new, but I am
worried that maybe it's a returned one they've
repackaged or something.
The last Q6600 I got from ClubIT looked totally perfect
on its IHS with no scratch marks that I recall seeing,
and I know Fry's is known for selling things that've been
returned / opened, but I thought they'd be labeled as
such if that was the case, and it wouldn't have the
Intel seal tape on it unless it was either fake or they had
some way of resealing the returns with supplies they
got from Intel to permit that.
Should I believe it's just quite a few scratch marks
from the Intel assembly line and keep it or exchange
it for one that looks 100% untouched like my other
one did?
i would exchage it....sounds like it got nicked during packaging.
If it looks like this i would say it's what intel use to test them...although mine looked fine after i lapped it lol.:D
