bios 0903 works great!
You know this board has some V-Droop but don't let that be your excuse for not having a great Overclock!!
If you go about it thinking you can't get there then you never will. This board is extremely robust and dead fast stable!!
Mix it with the right parts and it will go just as high and fast as anyone else with the same parts.
I have been running bios 903 for a couple weeks now and I have adopted it as my now official bios.
I'm telling you this board is absolutely great so if you can't get there than take a look at the parts you've assembled and start figuring out why
If you can't find any deficiencies there then stay away from all mirrors cuz you may well see the problem.:shocked:

Whats the best bios to convert the P5E too RF or P5E deluxe?and does it lower vdroop.
I just flashed to RF 0403 and Vdroop is not only gone, I now have a Vbump:shrug: with LLC enabled. With P5E Bios I was drooping .008 under load, with RF, I'm bumping .008. Another plus is I can now run my GSkill at 4:5. All P5E Bios' limited me to 5:6 and 1:1 at my clocks. I'm waiting for koda to update the flash tool to try Delux 0205 Bios.:up:

Deluxe 0205 bios not doing well for me. Same OC and voltage settings as P5E bios cause crashes and lockups with Deluxe bios. I'm going to flash to RF 0408 and start playing with those.

Yes, I have. It's not the same GSkill. Mine is F2-8000CL5-2GBPQ. At 4:5, the board does not post and I have to turn off PSU to get the bios to boot to default. Also just realized you're using a C2D. I had better results with this RAM and the E6750. Trouble didn't start until I went to the quads.
Oh so the problem with dividers shows up when you run quads....Well Why didn't you say say so..

This board is ok with Ex000 and Q6xxx series, but is a big NO for Q9x50 series.
I cannot pass 435x8 (1:1) on Q9450, I can POST 450x8, but doesn't load Windows at all, the max it did was getting to login screen and then hangs.
For Q9x50 series, this board is a nightmare for any OC around.
Using Deluxe 0205 BIOS.

Rampage bios are more stable for me than Deluxe at the same OC and voltage.
@ WeldZilla dude, we get it, your board and GSkill HZ r0x0rz!!!11111 yey for you, but we aren't all running the HZ RAM. And I'm not bashing the board either, just saying that my setup works better with Rampage bios than the P5E bios, and the best I can get with P5E+Rampage Bios+GSkill PQ 2X2GB is 4:5.

Can changing your FSB Termination Voltage effect your vDrop? I had my vcore set at 1.3650v and which the FSB Termination Voltage set on auto my vcore in Windows was ~3.1v @ idle which wasn't fully stable. Then I set the FSB Termination Voltage to 1.28v and my vcore under load was only 1.264v, while running Prime 95. It was running fine, then i took a screen shot and tried to open paint and it cashed. BTW my CPU is a Q6600 at 3.6GHz.
So my question is does changing your FSB Termination Voltage effect your vcore?
anyone try the rampage 410 bios for the p5e yet?
Works fine, but it didn't changed my OC one bit (capped @ 435x8).
Edit: Using P5E 0903 now, seems stable enough. Going to stay with it.

P5E w/ Vista 64, two SATA hard drives in AHCI mode, built in January. Ongoing problem with spontaneous reboots, about once per week. Found that it coincided with the weekly defrag schedule, and that I could force the BSOD by running a defrag manually... but only with both drives selected for the defrag. If I selected only one or the other, it would run. Disabled the scheduled defrag, but still experiencing random reboots... anywhere from 1-2 weeks in between each.
I can run P95 or Memtest for days without errors. I can play UT3 for hours without a problem. So, my conclusion was bad mobo drive controller, bad hard drive, or Intel matrix storage driver is flaky under Vista64.
Then one day I came home and the computer had rebooted, and was sitting there in the pre-OS environment complaining about no OS found. Went into BIOS and found that it had made my storage drive the primary drive. Switched it back and rebooted. When it got to detecting AHCI port on the OS drive, it froze. Rebooted, and it worked OK this time. I've since noted that occassionally during the AHCI port detection phase it will go very slowly, whereas it usually just flies through so fast you don't have time to read it.
Over the weekend I was applying Windows updates and got a BSOD. Couldn't get back to Windows... it would BSOD each time Windows started to load. Decided to roll back to my last backup, but it couldn't even load Windows off the DVD to get to the repair/restore screen... BSOD. Didn't know what to do, so I went into the BIOS to check settings. Everything looked fine. Just for kicks, and not being able to think of anything else to try, I reloaded my saved settings profile even though settings were already correct. Then it was able to boot into Windows off the OS drive, and then I went ahead and did the restore anyway, which it did fine. Reapplied Windows updates fine, and made another backup point. Fired up P95 on blend, and it's been going 12 hours.
At this point I could try updating the BIOS (still using initial version) and updating the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver. But I'm wondering if that's just a waste of time. The pre-OS pausing and freezing during AHCI port detection couldn't be a result of the driver. Losing track of my OS drive in the BIOS and making the storage drive primary wasn't the driver's fault. Not being able to load Windows off the DVD wasn't a result of the driver. Looking at the release notes for each of the new BIOS releases, they appear to only be updates for new CPUs. And even if my BIOS was causing the BSOD under Windows, it shouldn't be losing track of the OS drive, or freezing during AHCI port detection, or preventing an OS from being installed off the DVD without reloading settings. There just seems to be something flaky with the mobo.
So... if you were in my shoes, you would spend any more time on it, or just avail yourself of the 3-year warranty? Does anyone think there could be something else going wrong that I'm missing?

Actually, what I'd be looking at is dying hard drives first. Use something like mHDD to do a scan of each of the drives to check for bad sectors, and see what that turns up.

Picked up this board and some other parts last week. Got it all up and running as follows.

2 WD raptor 150's(from my last build)

Unit is water-cooled in the new Cool Master Half case. It turned out really nice lots of room to work in.
Having some problems with the CPU temp. I have removed it 2 times now with no change.
I have read this is a normal problem with the E8400s I had hoped it was fixed on the E0 units.
Also I have tried a few temp programs Speedfan, Coretemp, real temp all of them sit at 35C or 40C and never moved.
So I let it run prime95 10 hours and it never moved. Ran OCCT and it never moved.
Is it the Board or the CPU? Anything I can try? How about the RF0407 bios?
Also when I first got the board and got it up and running the Bios(702) kept telling me the CPU was unknown and showed 100C pretty much a garbage reading Flashed to RF0403 and it said the same thing. Flashed to 0903 and it went down to 35 or 40 and stuck there I haven’t been back into see if its moved at all in the bios as I was busy just finishing the installs.
Thanks for any help or ideas kind of a bummer of a rebuild. Been doing this stuff for 11+ years haven’t seen this kind of problem before

Water cooling must just work to well stock speeds OCCT / Primes and never moves over 40c
I got it stable at 4250 with 500 FSB 1:1 and 8.5 multi. didnt try for anything more
Max temp was 49-50C Full load both cores Room temp is 68-70F
Going to do more testing to lower volts right now its 1.31
So far i am very very happy its insane how fast it flys into Vista64 over my old Opertron165@2.6ghz
