@Petra, definitely a good idea to sell your current gaming system while its still wroth something. You can prob get 400-500 dollars for it.
Yes, that's all you need to mount the heatsinks. Watch out, though. Heatsinks aren't typical 771.Quote:

Mine just crunches and runs WCG but I would have no issues using it as a daily driver at all.

Should have been more clear on that... but if you find a heatsink that mounts like that (not necessarily a water block,) you're golden! :up:
Here's another interesting idea:
Get a cheapo 771 stock heatsink and either (1) layer thermal pads on the chip until it makes contact (like jcool's been doing with his 5970 :D) or (2) get a 3mm thick copper square and either epoxy it onto the heatsink or use thermal paste b/w the heatsink and the square. I think it could work and you don't have to go out of your way to get the ABBs :)
As it happens I know a guy who's been a freelance/custom machinist for ... a hella long time. He's pretty much retired now but more than capable of milling the required step into an existing aluminium billet type heatsink. I had considered getting him to do some work for me, but not knowing the rest of the design parameters it was only going to end in frustration.
Here is an link for those who are lazy and don't want to order all the parts separately and then figure what to do for a case (not that you need a case).
