And i also noticed that hibernating has the same affect as soft booting , black screen. Apparently i have to hard boot every time, or shut the power supply off every time if i soft boot. I guess i dont mind hard booting every time, but it's not particularly great for the computer from what i know. If i close all windows prior to hard booting is it still harmful? Either way not a good long term solution :shrug:

Raise the vFSB slightly and see if that helps
Lower the GTL CPU0 and CPU1 reference voltage percentages by 1 notch or 2.
I'll give it a shot again -- these boards are not particularly user friendly. I don't think I'll mess with intel again on the next go around. I also wish the board was SLI ready so i could be a bit more future proof, maybe in retrospect i should of got that 4870 x2, just didn't care for ATI and i thought nvidia would pull their heads outta their asses and enable SLI eventually on this board.

I wanted to go for ReaperX 1333 6-5-5-18.
Just wanted to know is it worth it??
Besides I can't even get my mem to run at 1333 without being unstable.

i had 2 gigs of Patriot Viper Extreme 1600 and it was good memory. i ran it at 1600 7-7-7-18 1T and 1500 6-6-6-16 1T. it would probably be a waste to buy memory with slightly better timings.
i enabled UEFI and it just turned my USB ports off until Windows started to load. the only way to get back into BIOS was to reset the frigging jumper.Quote:

if you want 4 gigs of memory, 2x2 gig is definitely the way to go. i tried 4x1 and it really limited my overclock. i ended buying this G.Skill kit and it rocks. good overclocker, tight timings, cheap price tag. i'd recommend it.

I found however, while in standby mode that the USB ports were turned off again. As both keyboard and mouse were USB it forced me to use the power button. That's why I refer to the UEFI when one encounters S3 Standby issues. It wasn't 100% consistant, but majority of the time you'd pound away on the keyboard or run the mouse all over the place with no awaking response.Quote:

UEFI is supported in Vista SP1 already, but not before anyway.

after few atempts to get this mobo with better oc i made a few changes, CPUv= 1.450 FSBv= 1.275 MCH/ICHv= 1.350 multi=8 CLock=415Mhz with this i´m able to boot even to run win but not pass the stability test on everest can anyone help me?
your vCPU may or may not be a little high. it's a lot higher than i run my dual core at though. your vFSB and vMCH seem low to me. with 1.35 vFSB and 1.425 vMCH, i'm able to go as high as 450 FSB without running hot. i'd suggest upping your MCH and FSB volts a bit. you might find you can lower your vCore after you've confirmed stability.Quote:

i think that's a pretty nice overclock for a quad. you could probably go higher if you wanted, but i can't imagine why you'd need to. you can always leave a little headroom in case you get bored on a rainy sunday sometime in the future ;)
What the FSB Voltage stands for?
I got overclocked to FSB=423MHz (CPU:9x,3808MHz) with V_FSB=1.200 (Default), V_MCH=1.350 and V_CPU=1.3500 (Not sure for stability on this cpu voltage, but I'm testing)
What Errors or unstabilities I should encounter, if I'm at low FSB Voltage?
FYI,
I found I can lower my vCPU than using Intel's "Auto" setting, which is nice how it predicts upping the vCore for you. But I found it a bit to aggressive than needed for my qx9770 version. I can run 24x7 at 1.33 (bios) and Enh. power curve along with F@H... I still run 400x9 for 3.6Ghz.
What I hate is their "auto" on GTL ref's are useless.
