Sure?

Got in a nice DICE session today, still finding the limits of the chip but so far it looks good. Maybe some LN2 will take it too that next level.

So records would be even worth more than they are, as clocks are higher in reality (ignoring cpu-z and other software readouts)?
Sorry for the double post...
Guys, what's under the tiny black heatsink which is hiding under the huge NB cooler? And how hot does this small heatsink get for you?
Also, how do you cool your VREGs using the stock heatsink when the motherboard's installed in the case? I mean, fan installing spots, etc, I can't come up with anything.
And the last question: I am considering using TIM instead of the thermal pad under the stock VREG cooler, has anyone tried this before? I know Gabe did with his unified heatsink for 58xx cards, so I thought it was worth a try on the motherboard...
Vtt PWM iirc.^^
Spot cooling gets you better temps with stock cooling solution, I am using the FC EK block though. ;)
3rd: Do never consider replacing the thermal pads on pwm area as the heatsinks/wblocks are not made for it. The heatpads there have a purpose: to make good contact with all the fets which are not possible to be soldered on 100% evenly. You could use some of the phobya pads with 5W/mK being way better than the crap the comes with most of the blocks.
/edit. BTW, with TIM none of my cooling solutions made sufficient contakt with the pwm area.
Alright, thanks for the insight!
OK, you're watercooling, correct? Do you use heat pads for both CPU PWM and VTT PWM areas then?
And if so, how thin are yours? I might get to replace mine, I have 0.5mm and 1.5mm thick options, not sure if I should go for the thinner one or not...
Edit: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=244895 looks like a lot of people use a TIM instead of thermal pads... Going to ask there also, see what ppl say! :D
The Mosfets on my 9800GTX's are pretty even. Using Swiftech's syncs, I use a razor (credit card works) to spread the TIM very thinly across the heatsync and screw it down tight. Dont try applying the TIM to your Mosfets as they are too small and you'll just end up getting it all over your components.
Yep, I am watercooling the board (and gpu). I use pads as intended by EK and it works quite well. Although the temps could be better - and that's where the improved phobya pads come into play. They are transfering twice to three times more heat than the ordinary ones.
You can get them in several shapes and thicknesses in one of the aquatuning shops for example.
What I can see from my mounting instructions of the EK there are 1mm thick TPs on pwm and those three chips/areas around the SB (hope you know what i mean from looking at the block's underside) and the 1.5mm thick pads are for vtt pwm.
Using tim instead of tp is only recommended with blocks that are made for that kind of use. Most blocks leave too much space inbetween ICs/DRAM and the block's surface to effectively allow for TIM.
Alright, 1.5mm pads it is then, thanks a lot for the input!
Hey guys, i was stable at 200x21 on my w3520 at 4.2ghz with 6gb of memory, using 1.275 qpi, 1.61 = 1.65 real on mem, 1.25 cpu and everything else is on auto was 100% stable on all stress tests, soon as i popped in another 6gb, P95 blend fails within 10 mins, i tried upping some voltages but still keeps failing, am i missing anything? any help is greatly appreciated.
Did you try loosening the timings?
What's qpi?
You have to increase Vtt and IOH quite a bit, maybe loosening timings later if nothing helps. Your IMC gets stressed much more with 6 dimms populated. It's never easy. So just keep on trying.
LOL 120 degrees its not DFI T3eH8 :D. My 760 never passed 55 cooled with 120mm fan, now E762 max Vreg temp is around 60-65 degrees, the board is hotter than 760 and it ll be difficult to keep the Vreg under 60, but 120 degrees .
May be if u are using high voltages like 1.7-1.8v with bad cooling my temps 60-65 are at my 24/7 setup CPU @4400MHz 1.4v Without Vdroop.
Hi.
It seems im having problem with 2xSLI :( Firstly i had 2x8800GTX and gpu-z shows x16@x8 but one of the card was faulty anyway....
Now I got 2x8800 GTS 512 and same situation the second card works x8 instead of x16
Does anyone had such problems ? I'm not sure what to do. I live in Ireland and the board bought in US it's long way to send it back under warranty if you know what i mean :D
The cards placed in slot 1/2, new bios and new motherboard drivers
problem fixed
slot 1/2 x16/xx8
slot 1/3 x16/x16 lol
sorry for wasting your time :D
