which test number is that?
It would be gr8 if ud run some game benches. The easiest r the ones with benchmarks already included.

Hes already done DMC4, RE5, 3dV peformance, high, Crysis Warhead, NFS shift, 3d06. He said Shift is smooth at 1080P 8xAA max, and that Crysis warhead is smooth at 1080P max, but slows down with 8xAA.

oh bummer :(
I can't run the xtreme bc I have a 23" and it only goes to 1080p, not 1200p sorry guys :(
I'm afraid to run my Vantage scores because Vantage loves Nvidia from what I read, I just did a run w/o PhysX and scored a P19k...
I'll do an H run too just to compare, brb.
K well I ran it at 1920x1080 with presets to extreme and 16xAF and 4xAA, I think that is the closest approximation to the Extreme setting.
I got 8725 GPU score
and 20988 cpu score
Here's the one I ran w/o PhysX...

I am beginning to think it favors Nvidia now, we need another test.
I reran the above "Extreme" tests but at 8xAA and got
GPU Score 8605
CPU Score 21379
Not much drop in the GPU score going from 4xAA to 8xAA :D
Many thanks for all the info postumus. :) :)
compare to this :

CPU / GPU scores for i7 920 @ 3.2ghz + 4870x2. I'm starting to see a trend, when compared to the 4870X2 the 5870 is better at extreme resolutions/ AA settings, but it's about the same or marginally better at the performance level and lower resolutions.
Here is Perlin Noise ALU performance for Lightman

It's looking good so far. I really hope it chews up AA.
crysis 1 dl is now at 70% ;)
Impressive, particularly fill rate and perlin noise!
Compared to my 8800GTX OC (yeah, i know, but it's what I've got) and i7@3.6...

This should be a very nice upgrade.
Thanks guys for Vantage scores!
Perlin noise looks mighty! Either scheduling improvements or shader core itself is faster clock/clock than RV770 series
Ok I played some more Crysis warhead at 4xAA and it very smooth, and looks incredible at 1920x1080. I don't see an in game option for 8xAF, do I have to force it via CCC?
so since these drivers are beta do you all think we will see higher scores with some better support and drivers after release or will it be about the same.
not saying these are not nice cause they are i cant wait to get a 5870
yeah man of course. Heck the recent CAT's have given some nice performance gains in certain games.
it can only get better, dont expect massive jumps of coruse, 5-10% max from a driver
posthumous, can you bench ARMA 2? Im curious to see the gains. This game is very CPU bound though, so im not expecting jaw dropping gains.
naschasho the bench keeps crashing, that's why I'm dling crysis regular instead, or is there another easy way to bench crysis warhead and what about my question RE 8xAF..
I was trying to use the "Frame Buffer Crysis Warhead Benchmark Tool"
postumus, can you run the two FillRate feature tests from 3DMark'06?
