What bios are you using? Could you post your bios template? I personally dropped the 2.40 strap. I'm using 8gb of ram now and cant seem to get it stable at 1100-1200mhz. 1:1 i can prime for days. I'd rather have the stability than the extra Mhz.
Sorry, if it allready has beed posted, but I can't find it nowhere.
Where can I download the F4-4 (F4pi "edition") BIOS for EP45-UD3P?
Tnx!
ceemic, here you go.http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...9&postcount=39
I just got an EP45-UD3P for my HTPC along with an E7300, and I also got a pair of these DDR2 sticks: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231209 - G.Skill Pi Black 6400 @ 1.8-1.9v.
Unfortunately I'm having problems running the board with both sticks populated - I get a continuous series of short beeps. Either one of them individually boots fine. I've tried:
* Increasing DDR2 voltage from 1.8 to 1.9 to 1.95. The RAM's rated to run at 800mhz / 4-4-4-12 at '1.8-1.9v'
* Increasing MCH voltage by .1v (MCH ref stock)
* Running the sticks in different colored slots so that it should run in single channel mode
* Turning off auto (spd) settings and relaxing timings to 5-5-5-18
* Running memtest86 on each stick individually (they pass)
Everything else is stock.
Same result each time, continuous series of beeps.
Any ideas? This seems like a good board, and the RAM seems good as long as I only have 1 stick in. I should add that there is no overclock and I have not tried any overclocking on this rig (since I can't get it to work in baseline mode first!)
radaja, tnx, I allready saw that link, but when I click it, some text-code comes out :(
Maybe I'm n00b but do I have to "Save link as" and rename filename?
Tnx!
I'm having problems with my Linksys Wireless adapter. When change my FSB from 333 to over about 350 it stops connecting to the network. Can anyone think of a reason why? It was on my old Abit IP35-E running at 445x9 and now it won't work at anything over 350x9.

I have similary problem, at first I had some problem to get my E8400 and 2x1 Kingston HyperX PC9600 to boot at FSB 450 ram 1200 555 15 tRD7 (Strap 200, Multi 2,66C) and FSB 500 ram 1200 555 15 tRD8 (Strap 333, Multi 2,40B) but with a lot of tweaking and help from people in this thrread I made it but about 2 weeks later it just refuse to boot at those setups, no matter what I did.
Then I tried to run my 2x2 Corsair Dominator PC8500 ( they are on the compatible list) with FSB 333, 400, 450 and ram 1066 and 1080 but it refuse to boot with it, I tried the same with one stick it was okey but not with two.
I can run 433 1042 but with 434 1044 there´s no boot.
If I run 1:1 there is no problem at all, I can reach all the way up to FSB 575 ram 1150 555 15 tRD9 stable without any problem.
There seems to be something strange going on with some of the straps and multi on this board, I also want know what´s going on, I hope somebody can help.
:shrug:
Could it be? The same Memory, the same Problem.Quote:

I have exactly the same problem. I can run DDR 1042, but over 1042 i got Bootloops/NoBoot. But only when i raise the MCH-Voltage over 1,20.
How have you set MCH-Voltage? Try to turn under 1,2V and test.

This is the exact same problem I'm having - I have a UD3P. I've tried 2 sticks of G.Skill Pi Black 6400 and Corsair DHX sticks. In combination, in alternate colored slots [to try and force single channel mode], etc etc. Will not run 2 sticks no matter what.
Are you getting a continuous series of short beeps when you put two sticks in?
I have a Seasonic S12 600W, and it's a really solid PSU that is not being even slightly stressed, so I can't believe it's the PSU...
almost there .500fsb here i come.http://i43.tinypic.com/2n7hb3q.jpg
When their are Problems they will come with the FFT768 and FFT640....Quote:

This board is really strange for me. Trying the 8.5 multi now, test at 533x8.5 and memtest is stable, tried different settings(lower PL) and got it to fail memtest, then changed back. Anyway it boots just fine but will not run anything(well any stressful stuff, like super pi crashes instantly when running most of the time), even if I change the FSB down to 490, or 500/510, ect...
I have been trying everything I can think of and there must be a magic setting somewhere. Went lower and higher MCH and mch reff, same for VTT. Tried adjusting the skew settings. Its very strange.
I did notice that when running lower volts and speed, that the 2.40B strap seem to work better than others as it lets me run 3.87Ghz on stock 1.25 volts. But my mem is only 2x2GB 1066 OCZ and wont go very high.
So far the highest I can go is just lower than 4.4Ghz, on either the 8,8.5 or 9 multi and using 1.40v in bios, going up to 1.45v doesnt help
Something more with problem:
FSB 333 - 3.2B DDR 1066 - MCH 1,2V -> RUN
FSB 338 - 3.2B DDR 1080 - MCH 1,2V ->RUN
FSB 333 - 3.2B DDR 1066 - MCH 1,22V and higher- Bootloop
FSB 325 - 3.2B DDR 1042 - MCH 1,3V -> RUN
FSB 326 - 3.2B DDR 1044 - MCH 1,3V -> Bootloop
The same with 2.4B:
FSB 445 - 2.4B DDR 1066- MCH 1,3 -> Bootloop
FSB 433 - 2.4B DDR 1042 - MCH 1,3V -> RUN
FSB 434 - 2.4B DDR 1044 - MCH 1,3V -> Bootloop
Just thought I'd share my initial experience with this board. Got things fired up a couple days ago with my trusty E6700 (waiting on a new proc), so the system is as follows:
Operating System- Windows XP
Motherboard- GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel
Processor- Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe E6700 @2.67GHZ
RAM- G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
Video Card- XFX GTX 285 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16
Hard Drive- 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black +74GB raptor + 500G Samsung
Supply- Antec TruePower Quattro 850W
CPU Fan- Tuniq Tower
Case- Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel
Installed windows and everthing went great, but in cpu z it was reading 2.1Ghz. Kinda strange, so I checked the bios and it had set my multiplier to 8 for some reason. Didn't really think anything of it and set it back to the stock 10.
Then decided to do some quick OCing. For some reason the thing would not post if I upped the FSB anywhere over 266 with a x10 multiplier and changed the RAM speed multiplier to run at 533. Not even 3ghz. Kinda strange, so I changed the cpu multiplier to 8 and it booted anywhere I'd set it after that, 3.0, 3.2, 3.4,3.6, and 3.8ghz regardless of me changing the RAM multiplier to keep it at 533mhz. I only messed with multipliers, vcore, and FSB. I don't know enough about the other voltages to start messing with them.
For some reason the board hated a x10 multiplier but is happy with x8. Just FYI I guess :)
First start or after every flashing (bios is in Fail-Safe Defaults-lower multi and higher VDimm) in BIOS choose "Load Optimized Defaults", save and apply.

so close. i two more notches on the fsb and im there.mind you im running mem at 1:1 divider.not what i wanted for my goal.tried 5:6 and i could only get to 468fsb so i switched dividers and started having better luck at achieving my goal of 8x500 @4.0ghz with mem@ddr1200 pl8.so i guess im almost half way there.i know the volts are kinda high,but that what it needed to get stable.anyone with a 9650 and experience with the UD3P,i sure could use some help and advice with lowering some of these voltage values.thankshttp://i42.tinypic.com/2079sm8.jpg
ghost,yes that is on the true.chip is not lapped but the true is.im using my airconditioner with a dryer vent hose to blow cold air directly into the intake.if i was to turn it off temp would be steadily at about 50c to 55c.when i was running this ss my motherboard sensor got as low as 6c.
Until the high MCH-Core there are not to high Voltages. Are you sure, you need 1,46V?
I can run my Q9550 stable with 8,5x500 with 1,4V MCH, the other Settings are not far from yours. My Q9550 likes higher GTL Voltages then yours, you have 62%, i need 65% (DEFAULT 63%).
Try the Sensor test and post here. What Cooling?Quote:
Those temps are insanely low Is that on your TRUE, and is the chip lapped?
max25 yes it seems to need 1.46mch,i think it cause im running four sticks of ram maybe.not sure though.i couldnt get it to run more than 2minutes in prime95 when it was at 1.42.but thanks for the info on the gtl values maybe if i adjust these i can lower some of my other voltages.also not sure what your asking about with sensor test.i assume your refering to realtemp?my sensors work fine except one is stuck at 36c another is stuck at 31c.but once i put the cpu under load they all scale good.ghost recon was asking about my temps being low and i explained why.GHOST heres two ss of my computer at idle with airconditioner on and then off.ok.http://i42.tinypic.com/314scub.jpghttp://i44.tinypic.com/281s75.jpg
Whats the max vcore supposed to be on these boards? I just got mine (ep45-ud3p) up and running, and it seems max is 1.4v in bios and in ET6. I have seen screenshots of up to at least 1.45, maybe even 1.5v I don't want to run that high of voltage 24/7, but I would like to bench using that much every now and then.
I am running an odd cpu for now, until my e8400 comes in. That may be why, its a prescott 520. The board may automatically limit the vcore to different levels on different cpus.
Any ideas?
ps: f7 bios
Any ideas why my Linksys wireless card would stop working when I turn my FSB up a little? It worked fine on my Abit at 445x9
500fsb with my new 9650.im half the way there.now i just need to get this setting to boot up with ram runnung 5:6 ddr 1200.http://i43.tinypic.com/2a856s3.jpg
