Was anybody elses network connection messed up after flashing to F7 for the DS3?
i have with some of the servers try the europe server.
i already flash to f7 using @bios. havent have time to test it. but one thing i notice is that there is now a gigabyte logo on starup which i think is really cooool
Of course the F6 is now available for the S3
DS3 owners,,, here is a hint...
kick the multi down to 8x or 7x and see how far your FSB can go.. wink wink.

If you needed to enable usb keyboard then you wouldnt even be able to get into the bios if you disabled it. see what i mean ?
usb keyboard support is just as he siad it is.
its ONLY for using a usb mouse or keyboard in DOS, pc POST is not DOS , it uses its on built in Legacy hardware to use the usb devices.
as for different bioss not letting you use raid and usb kb support, well i wouldnt know about that, bu frankly it sounds like once again you have a goofy board.
i'd seriously ebay that thing and go get a C2 board... or something entirely different.
you can still get a P5B Dlx for less than the DQ6. and i think you'd b a helluva lot happier with it.
still no micron D9 fix..
damn them.. damn them all to heck!!
and btw.. my wink wink is because i can post at 500x7 but thats all.. because of the ram issues i can not get any further than post.
465x8 easily.
423x9 easily.
big deal you say ? gotta remember this is a 4meg L2 cpu.. thats harder to do for these chips and boards
so who needs the abit AW9 Pro.. when for 100 bucks cheaper the DS3 can do that
Lestat - that may be the most positive message I've heard you say about your DS3 in a long time!
Has anyone noticed the new post screen? LOL Its the best thing that Gigabyte has given us in an update!

Woooww thank you Gigbayte!! That was our problem!! You solved it!!
NOT!!
They definitely did more than that. The menus are different (colorful voltage warnings and such!) and the big gigabyte startup screen.
Also, after quite a few reboots my X-fi is still installed. So maybe they fixed that as well.
I've only had this board/setup for a few days, but that :banana::banana::banana: was driving me crazy. I thought it was my X-fi's fault till I came here.
edit: saw you were referring to the DQ6, I'm talking about the DS3. Sorry for the confusion. Hopefully you get more improvements as well.
Excuse me...but there IS need need to enable USB Keyboard Support. I'm using a Logitech MX3100 wireless desktop kit, if is disable USB Keyboard Support in bios i cannot restart my PC using Ctrl+Alt+Del nor can i setup a RAID array or enter the Intel Matrix bios ROM or the JMicron controller...as if you hit Ctrl+I or Ctrl+G nothing happens...you HAVE to enable it.Quote:

It's not a goofy board, the fact that official F6 fixes my issues PROVES it's a bios problem, not the board.
It's total sh_te!...disable that crap, it only adds to the boot time. What a RUBBISH addition!Quote:

They DID NOT update the Intel Intel Matrix bios ROM, it's still version 6.0.0.1022, whereas Intel and Asus have updated to 6.1.0.1002, also the AHCI bios ROM is old...Intel have just released version dated 13th September 2006 and can be found in their own latest bios updates.
The JMicron controller has not been updated, still 1.06.53 whereas Asus have updated to 1.06.56a!!
So much more could have been added then a crappy POST logo.......grrrr!
new f6 for ds4 allows 2.5V and more than 1.67V on cpu... but wall 450fsb with 6600 and 4*512spectek still exist
your problem solved?Quote:

Richard has a very valid point.... and the boot screen appears in weird colors for me, but thats cos of my graphics card so no worries there, bit disappointed the bios update is essentially nothing... :(
Now I'm on DS4 F6 offical, I have great news! look
Note1: Temps with TAT and CoreTemp (both report same)
Note2: CPU @ stock Speed (loaded optimized defaults)
DS4 F6 Offical with TAT 100% stress core 0 (core 1 is idle) :
core0 : 45-47C
core1 : 44-45C
DS4 F6 Offical with TAT 100% stress both core :
core0 : 50-51C
core1 : 52-53C
DS4 F6b Beta with TAT 100% stress core 0 (core 1 is idle) :
core0 : 55-57C
core1 : 54-55C
DS4 F6b Beta with TAT 100% stress both core :
core0 : 58-59C
core1 : 57-59C
I know...I thought it was funny though. I have been reading your posts for quite a while now.this is the first system I have built and they have helped ALOT!!:toast: At first I thought all the problems were just me. Great thread!:clap:Quote:

the same micron d9 runs great on the DS4 and DQ6 so why the frick cant they make it work for the DS3.. the DS3 has by far sold more than the other two baords and infact i stand by my words that the 4 and the 6 are crap compared to the DS3.
again i can POST at 500x7 with my 6600 but it wont go further as its puking out the ram.
i can prove this again by doing the same thing on another multi and a near same ram speed the system wont post.
950 or above just is 100% retardely unstable.
