i did scared the HELL out of me
i sawpped my new w3520 and no POST, just FF on the debug led. I though ok the cpu is DOA, put the old ones into the socket, boot...FF again.
OMG i killed my classified, removed the old cpu take a look at the pins and one of them seem a bit out of place, use a tiny screwdriver to pry it a bit put the new w3520 and f3-f6-f8 that's better :D
moral of the story, take care when installing a cpu into a vertical mobo :)
so far so good with the new CPU, i can install stuff i couldn't before like gpu drivers DOH!, also mkvtoolnix don't ask me why this one but each time i tried to install this app i had a BSOD. Now fingers crossed to see the bsod go away, i'm so tired of that :banana::banana::banana::banana:.
i got the exact same batch i brought before see sig, i guess anitec.ca doesn't sell those much i should have asked to get one from the back of the shelf :D

i have my theory on what killed it or i should say damaged the IMC, on the bloodrage before g25 bios when you enabled XMP profile it was setting 1.85v vdimm automatically and I've booted like this a few times without noticing it. If all the warnings about the .5v difference between vdimm and vtt are true it might the cause.

bios = 1.15 with turbo on
old one was set to 1.2 by bios on auto, interesting, seems to run a bit hot tho for this voltage or i screw up when installing my CPU block(which might be highly possible seeing what i did earlier :D )

Unfortunately I don't run on phase atm, or I could put up some 3D06 with 3x 4870.. the 975 ain't the best but it was/is good for 4,7 3D. Oh well, I'll try to go 3D someday.

but that chip is crazy, it hits 95/100oC on water @ 1.45vcore when encoding with x264, very bad chip for 24/7

Are there any real tweaks for wprime BTW, apart from using the right OS? Server 08 and esp. XSOS seem to be real fast already (the Quad Opteron is on server 08). Unfortunately I can't get a gold cup for the 5570's, they are early B0 step and have no working Turbo mode (otherwise I'd get a +2 multi boost and destroy the 2 minute mark :eek: )

Anyway, what other benches give some decent points? Should I try for PC Mark or something? I do have an SSD etc, but IIRC PCMark is too stupid to use multipe CPU cores and GPUs right?
most effective tweak and easiest for wprime i think is to boot into diagnostic mode
