Could u please disable the vcore control feathure and try again if u see vdroop from idle to load, as on the p35 T2R, disable this feathure will, give u actually 0 vdrop and vdroop, according to some P35 T2R owners. Thanks
Enable = enables the circuitry that controls the Intel specification vdroop, so you will get vdroop.
Disable = opposite to above.
Why does this thread have four stars? Six pages and nothing of relevance so far pertaining to the board. Most of the posts need to be deleted and the thread brought back on topic as to what the title suggests.
Just got my board in yesterday.
Setup:
Q6600 G0
Patriot PC5300 LLK (2x1GB)
2 x HIS 2900Pro
Corsair 620HX
What I've found so far:
- This board has 2 floppy connectors to give extra voltage to the board vs. the one my P965-S had. Connecting only one of them made the board get stuck with a C1 error but no beep even with no RAM. Connecting both or none let me get past that.
- This board doesn't like my Patriot PC5300 LLK's any more than my P965-S :(
So I still have to boot with one stick, up the voltages, set timings, etc before putting in the second stick. 4 sticks errors on memtest at stock whereas I could get my P965-S to use them with a little work.
- There's a difference in what you set the RAM voltage to to what the BIOS reports it's set at. E.G. 1.904 in BIOS reads 1.84 in Hardware Monitor.
- Long video cards make it hard to change the RAM :(
- Upping the CPU voltage so far makes my computer go through a attempt-to-post - reboot - attempt-to-post loop.
- The 8-pin power cable is in the upper left corner, so don't put it in an Antec P180 unless you don't mind messy cables :D
So far I can only run the CPU at stock since I can't up the voltage or overclock much at all. Hopefully there will be some other Q6600 users with this board that can help me out.
EDIT: Figured out my problem. I'm currently at the same overclock I had with my P965-s with less voltage all around. Haven't tried for more, but will soon ;)
did you find max fsb lazy?
Yea wants some results:D
if i had my board i wouldnt be sleeping or havin sex for a few days lol
Im currently only testing on Air
Currently my max is 510 fsb, 510x7
Havent tried with a 6 multi
Will not boot at 520 even with voltage set at 1.6
Gonna have to see how far i can push this on water,
on my ip35pro max i have been able to push my cpu is 520fsb on water
so it may just be a limit on my cpu
this thread so quiet its makin me nervous goin to x38 instead of p35 lol
Consider how many ppl actually got the board and how immature the BIOS is, I don't know what some are expecting...
the shipping is soooo slow, ive had everything ready to test mine for a week now, but no board :(
Yea its almost as common as the DFI 790FX-M2R:D
Does this board have working ECC?
Got my board in today, and I've made another order from newegg for some parts. (ie. cpu and ram)
To give this thread some legitimacy, I guess I'll post the specs of the system I will be testing on first.
Hard Stuff:
Q6600
G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) DDR2 1000
DFI LP LT-x38 T2R
2 x Sapphire 3850 256mb (still waiting on my 3870 XXX edition)
WD Raptor 150
2x 74gb Raptors in Raid 0 for page file
Cooling:
D-Tek Fuzion w/ 3/8" (all is on 3/8)
MCR-320
MCP-355
3 Yate loon D12-SM12
Still testing but so far so good, my Q6600 is needing alot less Vcore than it did on my P5K-Deluxe. GSKILL 2x2GB modules are also running fine at 5:6 divider. I sorta copied the general settings from ppl in the LanParty P35 thread since I have no experience with the new DFI BIOS. The PWM area gets a bit toasty during small FFT prime, and some of the NB heat is contributing to higher CPU temp than my P5K. Gonna get a fan for the NB and see how much difference it makes.
Some more.
Really nice mobo, any sub zero results?
Regards
Hows the shipping Bios Please? If stable and good can you please back up a copy of the Bin File and send it to me?
do we need to fix the northbridge on our own? will dfi give us a thermal paste or something? btw that northbridge seems to blocking TRUE facing to ram slot..btw how cool is this northbridge is with stock cooling?
