You plugging in the floppy molex? I see it's recommended for power delivery when using crossfire, but how about otherwise? Any issues with stability without?

It's always good to use the floppy molex power connector on DFI boards, I have experienced lower fsb potential on previous DFI boards when I did not bother using the connector..

alright, I'll hopefully post results then. damn, what a pain having ugly cables running all over the place. bleh, might give me a reason to put heatshrink on
I am having trouble with my eva680i, should i jump to this mobo or get the dfi 680i coming out soon?
^unless you have to run SLI get his mobo.
hey raju..
can you compare with the DFI 680 lt??

how about the matrix raid?? :) better??
^^^This is Y I asked for obtainable Cas 3^^^ Not everyone has DDR2 kits that can run cas 3 with those sub timings. I don't think the 965 chipset even does 1T.
The following subtimings were set by AndreYang using Memset 3.2
trc=8, trfc=19, twr=1, twtr=6, trrd=1
Tighening subtimings and running 1T greatly improves Pi times on the 680i chipset. The catch is not every DDR2 kit can run cas 3 @ DDR2-800. I have several kits that can, but it took a little over 2.4v for AndreYang to make a 32mb Pi run with those tight sub timings. I would like to see some cas 3 Pi times without overvolting ram to achieve super tight subtimings.
I think the team xtreme 1200 can run ddr2 6400 cas 3 @ 2.1 volts.. :D but its a little pricey.. :(
this board looks like a winner...looks like it would be stable at 400fsb with low nb voltages and should be faster than my piss poor RD600 experience
I have to build 2 office computers for dictation use with Dragon Naturally Speaking 9....looking for modest overclock by XS std(I am hoping to hit 3200)
I will probably go with an e6600(although e6400 does not look bad either)...buy the cpu after april 22
this board looks great for the price.....
I see no advanatge for nonsli with dfi 680i....
What's a waiting thread wo/ a "wtf should I get w/ this board" reply?!
$213.99 Buffalo Firestix FSX1000D2C-K2G or $179.99 G.Skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ for this board?
I prefer the price and color of the G.Skill, but the Firestix will probably have GKX love. G.Skill bin vs Firestix IC?!
UMMMMMM......DID U FORGET:p:

Nope, the first Crucial 10th died along w/ a P5B Deluxe. The replacement Ballistix CL3 667 died after another month. The replacement Crucial 10th is now giving me trouble unless I loosen timings and lower speeds. The last 2 replacements have died in this P5B-E Premium Plus (fake P5B from egg) and I care not to try again.
I have the DFI board coming on Wed and I'm going to pair it w/ the G.Skill HZ and replace the PSU from a NEO HE to the PC P&C Silencer 610. I highly doubt the cpu, gpu, or hdd's would cause the kind of registry corrupting and random crashes I've been subjected to over the past 2-3 months. Perhaps it's related to running RAID, or bad luck. Who knows, but I just have to get away from the Asus+Cruc killer combo. :D BTW, all RAM died at stock voltages and 2nd/3rd replacement died at stock.
If anyone has any ideas, please share.
EDIT: The 2 raptors are brand new and have been tested recently w/ WD DLG tools. Another oddity is the lack of minidumps. :(
Updated here with a stable overclock with everyday voltages on air...

Settings are fairly tweaked for 24/7 use with micron d9gmh/d9gkx. Obviously benchmarking will run tighter, just wanted to get the ground work done first. It's a question of balance between these 2 newer DFI boards, depending on what your needs are. Both are the fastest in their class it seems, so make your choice depending on what's important to you. I am getting both :), granted that's not something everyone will do, but as a DFI enthusiast, I see no other way to satisfy my curiosity...
I will bench with 3d soon, next up is a little work with quad core, then under the phase unit to see what she'll do at around 4.4ghz, and if that looks good onward to cascade..
