The X6800 is already unlocked. That's one reason why you pay some a huge premium for it. Someone needs to test with a non-Extreme Edition processor.

So, it is all a bunch of bs...
Track down that "Intel rep." it will not be hard, ask the people of the expo/tournament, and expose him, if he really exist...
Or, find out more info....Quote:

If you were at the demo day one & day two you would know it was day two starting @ 1p.m. If you were there you would remember the system was in a plexiglass cube and watercooled by a special new dangerden set up which he said was on sale for 10% off and if you used the "quakecon" coupon code you get an extra 10%. Also if you were there for day two, you know that he ran over and was told to end. Also that the system with the flat screen that was set up for day to was moved to the floor just left of the stage as the discussion continued. Also you know the name of this marketing rep and that the last letter is "k" and not "c" as we would normally this it was spelled. If any of these day two things sound familiar to you then you certainly should remember every going on stage just as his demo ended. You also remember that two of the 975BX boards he gave away were emty boxes and the final winner got a dual core 900's series and 975BX and the boxes were not emty. + his lucky number ended in "69"Quote:

Someone somewhere will be successful with this mod I certainly hope.
I hate to rain on this parade, but this has gotta be BS.
I just came back from a local gaming LAN, & while we didn't have Intel reps giving us unlocking multis tips, we did have Intel & nVidia reps feeding us a lot of serious misinformation...
So yeah, i'd never trust the words outta their mouths.
Like what? You have me interested. :DQuote:

If anybody actually gets this to work, It'll make me buy a BadAxe.
I can confirm this mod did nothing for me. In fact I removed the conductive ink, and cleared the cmos and my board started right up. I also did the bios mod to un-lock the EE settings in the bios and that worked just like a charm, so I am calling this fake on the part of the Intel rep.
Marketing guys ... gotta love them. With lots of blunt force trauma to the head.
I thought X6800's were not unlocked on XBX's?
anyways, pretty funny location to put an unlock jumper :D
Is that true? If so, it means people with the Bad Axe are paying at least $450 more than an E6700, just to have an 11 multiplier.Quote:

There was, but the guy didn't know what he was doing at all.Quote:

for the nth time, X6800s are already unlocked downwards AND upwards. you don't need any mods to get these multipliersQuote:

I have the 6800EE and a badaxe 304. No mods were required to unlock the multi. Things got real sweet when I hit 1333 FSB. Nice board and chip.
Even better, its a work related expense and doesn't come out of my pocket.
I don't understand a word you said. I wasn't at quakecon, wish I was. Either way this mod DOES NOT WORK apparently so it's a load of BS.Quote:

You can change the X6800's multipliers on all Bad Axe boards rev 304 or later :slap:Quote:

I guess it was never much chance this mod would work, but it was worth testing out anyway. Thank you nemesis for this thread, it was fun as long as it lasted, got us quite exited for a moment there =) Thanks also to the brave men who tested it out
It appeared you called his original post a lie, therefore him a liar. He's just defending himself.Quote:
