Probably one of the best build on the forums IMHO. Keep up the great work! I think your apparent knowledge is paying off in dividends because you're making all right choices with very little input required.
I'm always amazed at these sort of builds. I think I just don't have the patience you guys do! Did another rebuild last weekend (I used my rooster build for like 5 months) and while it's not as nice or such a huge undertaking, my goals are different. I just like having the newest equipment I can afford, but it must be clean and neat.
Looking forward to the end result
FYI I ganked that res in sand shot for the the products page on my site :D
I'll give credit in the bottom of the page :)
Just... Beautiful :D
Fantastic work !
Thanks so much for all the wonderful feedback everybody. It all means a lot to me. I would have posted a lot sooner, but the grind has me in quite a situation. I couldn't let another night pass by without thanking you all and letting you know how much your feedback has been greatly appreciated.
Why do they call them deadlines? Why not livecircles or plunder period, or dueduedate. You know? Like something pirate related or at least fun to say...one not so morbid...
Anyway. Pardon...
I'd get my job done so much sooner if the work didn't get in the way. heh
Thank you very much, Kibbs!
Yes. It was sitting around collecting dust, now it's making it.
Note to self: Netflix Equilibrium
Lol, thanks Cap'n Callen.
Getting your approval is an honor.
"rounded corners by hand?" :wasntme:
Thanks for the gesture, but I must insist you keep your gold stars...You are much more deserving!
Glad you enjoyed the last update, Sharon! Lol! Thank you!!! I love those pink elephants! (No matter how much I edit that last sentence to sound more piratey...it still comes off as me sounding unthusly. :( )
Thanks so much for the supportive words throughout this long journey. It's been very much appreciated and keeps me motivated!
Thanks, dro!
They'll be replacing the fittings shown on my earlier post found here.
Thanks GK! Your stickers turned out looking awesome! Glad it all worked out for you!   PM incoming!
Tox! Aye, tis been awhile me hearty...I think you may have planted the idea for me to switch careers. If making movie posters will be paying me a banana load of gold doubloons, my sailing days are over. I'm going to Hollywood!
Great lineup on UFC...But Pacman fights Saturday!
:YIPPIE:
Thanks so much, Graeme! At this point, it's getting to be a requirement that I get your feedback before every update I post lolz. It's comforting.
I've been meaning to ask you, is that a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Red Heeler in your screen pic?
Ahoy, MT...Welcome back! You were missed.
Thanks so much for the very encouraging and generous words, NaMcO!
I noticed Graeme posted a pic from your "The Project" build on shazza's worklog.
You're still getting shout-outs...and that says a lot about the ideas you had and the quality of your build. I still dug how that came to be a success for you.
lol marx. My apologies me hearty...look for my post soon. I've made a sticky...you know...JIC. Glad to read that you're enjoying my endeavors here!
Cheers whuzabi! I want a full shot too! lolz.
Yes... I shall post pics of the full shot of the case in the next coming updates. It's in complete chaos right now as I'm still in the middle of midplate mayhem, but I shall take a piccy to share.
Thanks Liderc...Always great hearing from you!
I know it's taking a while but I've been so appreciative of your feedback.
LMAO!
And aye...my little nod to our favorite hedgehog!
:sonic:
Lol Thanks James...
That's actually a great idea! I'm going send that off to the printers, hang it on my tool shed and post the pic of the pic!
I just checked out iandh's site...
High five, brother! :woot:
Glad you liked it, GK
Thanks John!
Ok..check it...the actual trade name of Sonic is "Carbide Router Bit" it's for nonmetallic materials. I bought it from McMaster-Carr. I can provide you the link to the catalog page if you need it.
Sadly...:( I have no name for the Forstner bit...I am open to suggestions, though!
And thanks for making me aware that P-PCs now carries the crytal link tubes. It gives me an idea...
Thanks so much Charles! In comparison to you, all my posts put together can't hold a candle to one of yours. Thanks for the props, but if I'm even remotely earmarked for an Oscar, I believe you already own a few.
Good idea on a video update. That sounds like something I might enjoy doing. I'll definitely keep it in mind. Perhaps something in the vein of "Frontier Psychiatrist". lolz
Thanks for visiting Natalie! Good to hear you're liking ...well..whatever it is I'm doing. I think we're all waiting for Pegasus to resurface soon, though.
Ahoy, Vinas, me hearty...I know at this point it may sound that I'm repeating myself here, but seriously thanks so much for all the info and support you have posted on my build thus far.
I know it's taking some time and I really didn't mean for it to take this long. But I know I've said this before, but we are indeed getting closer to port.
Thanks for hanging in there with me!
Thanks iandh...but you spelled my name wrong!!!!!!!!
Just kidding...but maybe I got you a few hits? lolz
And the word "gank"...
I'm SO using that word now.
Thank you so very much Seu!! Your MurderMod is looking good!
*************
Thanks again everybody! Updates soon! :)
WoW Captain, that must of taken nealy all night to write that out.
I must say thou I really do appreciate the fact that you take the time to personalize each and every reply to us, nice touch mate, gives me a warm fuzzy if you know what I mean.
The fact it was 41c degrees today didn't take much either.
Anyhow Yes you are correct that dog is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier also well known in OZ as a staffy.
Her name was Misty but I called her either fats, fat dog or biddy as she was a girl after all.
Saddly she is running in greener feilds now, she was 14yr old when we had to said good bye to her.
However we are lucky enough to now have Gus, yes he is a boy, red in colour.
I might show you a photo of him if I ever get to do my build.
Thanks for asking about her mate.
midplate mayhem is the right word i got too :) i hate it if its not going if u want. im just thinking about a new projekt like 343b ore a MM its so big i like it :)
 after seeing your work and your machines
now I know, what would be my hobby after I graduate ;)
By the way, Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I did check photography section in XS. Man, its jaw dropping gorgeous photographs.
I started off creating the hatchway with a 12"x12" aluminum sheet.
This time my pencil guides weren't so awesome.
Lining up the acrylic to the frame and the screws, while being aligned with the hole in the midplate made the eraser pull some overtime.
Marked before surgery:
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_4992.jpg
Then I went to town on it using the Rotozip:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_4996.jpg
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5008.jpg
Remeasured, adjusted and remarked:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5027.jpg
It was also used to cut out the center hole:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5037.jpg
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5125.jpg
The acrylic piece was routed down to fit flush up against the center hole of the hatchway frame. She shall be polished:
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5219.jpg
Fitted the frame to the acrylic window:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5225.jpg
She shoots! She fits! She scores! :eleph:
Used up two Dremel cutting wheels on the Rotozip Flex Shaft attachment to cut out the hatchway hole on the midplate:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5230.jpg
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5231.jpg
Aside from using lubricant to lessen the heat build-up generated by the friction (did I just type, "Aside from using lubricant to lessen the heat build-up generated by the friction"???), I went around the perimeter twice with the cutting wheel.
The first go-round was to create the straight "starter" cuts while being careful not to stray outside the pencil guides.
The second go-round was to actually cut through the aluminum.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5234.jpg
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5251.jpg
Tapping the alumunimun hatchdoor:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5182.jpg
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5186.jpg
White knuckled the tapping through the aluminum into the acrylic window attached underneathe.
I used the oompa loompa version of the Irwin clamps:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5244.jpg
Dressed the hole with screws right after each tap.
To ensure alignment of each hole, I tapped the next hole on an "X" formation (the next tapped hole was the opposite furthest point.)
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5242.jpg
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5246.jpg
The hatchway handle:
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5018.jpg
Had to cut an inch and a half off to fit the frame:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5023.jpg
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5026.jpg
I used a friction hinge.
It sports an "adjustable torque resistance" feature.
The tightness of the adjustment screw dictates the strength of the resistance.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5258.jpg
This allows the hatchway door to be suspended at various angles.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5262.jpg
Here is how she's currently looking:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5264.jpg
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5266.jpg

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5273.jpg
A seque (how unbecoming of me):
I have a birthday coming up.
If any of me good hearties wants to purchase this good booty as a pressie so I don't have to post any more trippy/confusing measurement pics like this:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S6...0/IMG_5213.jpg
I'll be your best friend. :toast:
Currently sanding and polishing the frame. I'm leaning towards having it anodize if my rattle can session doesn't fair too well.
Thanks for checking in everybody!
To be continued...
holy poop
your machining prowess is only eclipsed by the marvel of how you actually found and purchased proper porthole paraphernalia.
I've been waiting for an update and you did not disappoint in the slightest.
Now, why would we be surprised when a Pirate finds a proper porthole (I can't spell paraph-whatchacallit)?
Great work, and a very fun update.
Bit chin.
pirates, portholes, lube. makes me wanna "go around the perimeter twice" :ROTF:
great transitions here between case compartments.
wow, really nice hatch with awesome tiny details
Garrrr matey looking nice so farrrrr. Yeah I dont know pirate talk that well sorry.
basically just trying to say that Shat look good yo. <<< thats my street talk
A fine ship ye have in your dry dock.
The christening and subsequent raiding is suspenseful to say the least.
beautiful work so far rick!! what I really like, is the focus you set on the small details... It`s gonna be awesome, when finished. :D
i'm running out of nice thing to say, rick! the hatch is just perfect, and it isn't even finished.
Awesome pictures and, as Martin said, i love your focus on the small details. IMHO they're the ones that really count :)
The " window" to your ship is very good :D
Great Work Capitain:)
My oh my, awesome work as usual, JUST HURRY UP AND FINISH THE BUILD!! :) I can't wait!
Looks awesome and very clean can't wait for the final build and some numbers ;)
Yeah, definitely crying for a full shot already
Excellent work as usual, loved the update and the photos
Rick, your photography is out of this world. Your modding skills aren't that bad either . I've got a long way to go in both areas.
One thing I have to add though. Enough of the close ups. What does the whole thing look like?
I love the hatches. Very original idea to personalize this.
I think you are single-handedly ensuring the financial security of Bitspower given the number of fittings I have seen in this thread.
I have a feeling we won't be seeing full shots til the Captain is ready - you know how persnickety those Pirates are.
Thanks Kibbs! Glad you're liking it! I shall take a detour in showing the things that augment the build and post some full shots soon.
Thank you, Sharon!
p.s. Alliteration is fun
Lolz...I have a confession. When I first read your reply, I went, "Bite what?"
"Who got bitten?"
"Is masticating on chins vampire talk for "You're the coolest online pirate I have ever met?"
Yes. I'm slow.
So the child walks in, looks at me starring at the screen and says, "Ha ha b'tchn".
Schooled by a 10-year-old = me
Thanks John. lol. That's a euphemism for self-loving I haven't heard before.
But I think I'm going to get tarred and feathered if I don't show full shots of the case soon.
Aye. Thanks Waterlogged. I did promise, didn't I?
Can I use flash, case enveloped in dust, 4096×2160 res, ala NaeKuh
style?
:sofa:
Full shots: next update
Thanks, GK. I meant to send you a pm. D@mn my ADD.
Word, dawg, word. (That's the extent of my 'round the hood ebonics')
The parts you've chosen for your next build are preemo.
You should post your progress here.
(oh dear. More West Side lingo...can't.....
control...)
It's just mad stupid how fast this muthafignewton will be all up in subscribizzling.
Ain't THAT about a bees. Natch. :pimp:
erm...Fo shizzle...me hearty...?
Lol! Couldn't have said it better myself, Wez
Thanks so much Martin! Really appreciate it, mate!
I know the feeling, Callen...I'm rendered speechless when I look at the complete awesomeness of your skills in your build.
Like imagine if you will, your next update sparks world peace and international good will towards men (and women) just by the sheer ass-kickery of it all... I wouldn't know what else to say in addition to what I have already.
But at the risk of repeating myself, know that I'm a huge admirer in what you are doing and like the rest of us, I'm anxiously awaiting your next update.
Thank you very much Raiden! Your top panel is looking really good. Can't wait to see Bill's grill on it!
Lol...sorry James...I know its taking a bit of time here. :( My bad.
I do feel I need to show something besides macro shots of random thread screws given the quality work you have shared with us (me).
Thanks jenia! 2, 18, 67 and 12. How are those? Lolz.. sorry couldn't resist.
Aye..I shall post FPS, temps, P95 screenshots upon completion.
No. I'm keeping it a secret, Rich.
And in case you were wondering, I SO did NOT purchase it from McMaster-Carr,
it is NOT part number 1791A44, and CANNOT be found on the catalog page http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/116/2980/=6act4g.
Seriously. Some things have to be kept secret, for pirate's sake. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S5.../piratearr.jpg
Thank you very much, NaMcO. I'm very grateful with all the kind feedback you have provided me throughout.
I shall indeed post full case pics on me next update. It's been requested for awhile now.
I won't mention the death threats I've been receiving in my inbox if its not posted soon. (wait. I just did.)
Cheers voigts! Very much appreciate the feedback...love where you're going in your latest build and I totally admire your woodworking skills.
lolz Sharon :D. I said it here first. Democracy played a part in my decision to have my next update include a few shots of the full case in its unfinished, unpowdercoated glory.
************************************************** ******************************************
For your convenience and I know I'm cheating here, here is the first pic I have ever posted on this log, but more current pics are forthcoming:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/Sr...4/IMG_1552.jpg
Thanks for taking the time to even get this far. If you're seriously still reading this, please know that I
like extra sharp cheddar cheese, strips of bacon goodness, guacamole on a medium-well patty.
Thanks for all your feedback, everybody! Full shots on me!
I absolutely LOVE your "Reason for editing" on your last post! I almost fell out of my chair in laughter.
Oh ya, and your build is coming along quite nicely!
Lol, you've been showing us those macro pictures for so long now, I couldn't even remember what the case was you started with. I forgot how big it was :p:.
want to see something inside :) gogogogo
It's a shame we can't use this fine vessel to travel to my buried treasure.
Oh yeah, I have it. Not in my backyard either. Legit.
Can't wait to see all the stuff IN the case!
Only one thing to say: :eleph: :eleph: :eleph: :eleph: :eleph: :eleph: :eleph: :eleph:
Let the party go on.
aye, only if ya don't mind bein drawn an quartered.
Full shots next update or ye may be facin mutiny ya scurvy dog.http://deephousepage.com/smilies/dueling.gif:ROTF:
Lookn good so far me matey. I will post up some stuff probably after I get the rest of my stuff ordered. Which I will probably do this week.
Hi thar captain nice build you have goin' thar(it would appear i can't speak pirate :()
About that CNC router....http://www.qubic.com.au/roland_mdx540.htm
or http://www.romaxxcnc.com/hsproduct.html
really good product, really cheap, fair work size up to 300mm, should be enough for most things.
or if you want a human touch, http://www.carbatec.com.au/kreg-prec...r-table_c20829 with http://www.carbatec.com.au/kreg-prec...-system_c20002, bigger working area, less than half the cost of a CNC mill/router, very easy to use, eye candy etc :)
Magnificent build Cpt
Excellent point mate.
I do the roughly the same thing when using a cutting disc, it doesn't matter if I'm using a dremel with a 1" cutting disc a 5" grinder or my 9" grinder to cut, the process is the same. :yepp:
The best way to cut a straight line with a cutting disc is to just let the disc make a shallow groove along the edge of your mark
(on small cuts I do one edge at a time, bigger cuts I may go 1-2' in front) then finish the cut with a second go at it.
Really like the way you have made this hatch, Excellent work mate.
What happened here? I blacked out once Cpt surprised us with that case shot out of nowhere. Hey, I'm a light weight!
awesome as usual Captain. ill follow this thread to the deepest depths of the ocean.
might sound a bit weird but i thought about you the other day while I was watching the Hunt for Red October  i know its the wrong time period but still high seas shenanigans.
how about Vera getting his face broken on sunday? looked pretty brutal.
Yar, me thinks Cpt may be hidin on the isle of cannibals to avoid the Krack...er, I mean postin full shot pics.
Nawwwwww....... I think he's just outside the network coverage
So he can't come online just yet....... :(
Damn, that is a TIGHT rig! The blue and black go together perfectly with that sort of metallic/silver/aluminum accent.
He's painting it all red to use one of these:
http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/x...p/PC020341.jpg
:D:D:D:D:D:D
You're welcome, sir captain.
:D:D:D:D:D:D
Wonderful
The Supreme Classified? ... why didn't you get an HF? I guess there's some that go for looks, and others that go for performance... I just look for the compromises between both and price.
Sub'd, I've managed to get myself addicted to build logs :D
I got the classy before the highflow came out, and I'm pretty sure this is the first high flow, because of the description about the re-worked baseplate channels.
So, it's performance + looks - not the newest supreme with copper top + 33% off sale = perfect-ish. :D
And yes, I was joking about Cap'n getting one because I know he loves it hahaha.

Updates???
Either that, or he is recovering from wounds justly inflicted by his wife for plotting a course towards the aforementioned island.
Where's an update? can you please post an update? Rick. Rick. Hey Rick. Can you please post an update??
Ahhh, i guess that's why he hasn't been updating :D
ROFLMAO! Win pic but I agree - I WANT UPDATES!!! I NEEDS MY PR0N SINCE DAVE'S RIG HAS BEEN LOST!!!
~Bex
lol @ Waterlogged. Pic of the week, for sure.
The Pirate's probably planning something special for us. A certain Aussie has set the bar rather high, you know?
I think he's trying to sail in it...
I bet he put a keel on 'er after he got the windows together.
watercooling does not = scuttling
You folks are hilarious!
I have truly been enjoying the dialogue in here and I thank you for the laughs and the light-hearted pokes as I try to stay focused on other parts of the build. Sharon's pirate icons, Callen's stirs and Waterlogged's EPIC POKE were all classic!
To shed light on the debate on where I was the past week or two, I was kidnapped by horde of midget ninjas.
Ok, there was only two.
A week after my great escape the trauma still haunted me. So I headed to my private Tortuga, channeling focus and chi through chant and meditation to acquire an unobstructed pathway towards finishing an idea for a drive cage/bay and a side shark fin grill for the Monsta rad. Oh and recovery.
However, I did manage to take some snapshots along the way to bliss and zen showing how everything is currently looking.
Replaced silver pass-throughs with black matte:

Playing around with me new toy. :) 10-20mm ultrawide angle lens:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S7...4/IMG_5395.jpg
Also been focusing redoing a logo, the front panel and an instrument panel situation.
I've made some progress and found a little time to throw some parts together for a quick snapshot of the full case in frame.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S7...4/IMG_5307.jpg
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S7...4/IMG_5300.jpg
I assembled the backplate, mobo tray, midplate, and pedestal to get a visual on how she'd look with some pieces put together.
I'm currently waiting on some more booty to arrive.
Speaking of pink elephants, :eleph::eleph: why is it when they transport something by ship it's called cargo and when its tranported by car it's called shipment?
I used blue cathodes to see how the light behaves (which won't be used in the final build, but used here as a little test) shining up through the acrylic:
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S7...4/IMG_5470.jpg
It makes a rather cool "ring" of blue light between the compression fittings and pass throughs:

Experimented with white leds:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S7...4/IMG_5463.jpg
Ever reach a point in a build where you feel that for every step forward, it ends up feeling you're taking two steps back?
Like remember way back in High School chemistry class, there was always this one paragraph in the textbook where you had to read over and over again to get what the authors were trying to say. Like remember way back in High School chemistry class, there was always this one paragraph in the textbook where you had to read over and over again to get what the authors were trying to say (yes. just like that).
And the more you read that one paragraph the stupider you actually became.
Remember that? No?
Yeah. Me neither. Just that I was told that it happened to a friend of mine.
Anywho.
Where was I going with that?
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S7...4/IMG_5438.jpg
I shall reassemble all the components within the pedestal and have it all connected to the tubings shown in the hull. I'll be sure to take some pics showing the connections soon.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S7...4/IMG_5451.jpg
More full shots heh:
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_QLiEm5wyerY/S7...4/IMG_5484.jpg
C'mon. You know you saw that coming.
Cheers me hearties!
Thanks for the laughs and your patience!
Updates soon and as always, thanks for having a gander. More updates to come!
Blue leds are too sexy.
The blue lighting looks MAD you crazy pirate!!! I award you 10 vigorous high fives, no, make that 11!!
Love the matte black pass through bits too. F@#k it, make that 12 high fives :D...and i've passed out.
I think it's about time i popped in and posted another message :).
I'm glad you have changed the pass though fittings, as the black ones suit the build so much more. I think i like the Blue LED's over the white ones as they look more mean.
Whiskey, seriously? Where's the bloody Rum?
I'm missing full shots with the hardware on it!Quote:

I think it would look really cool if you used a black anodized aluminum spacer (like a manifold that does nothing) about 6 inches up those tubes.
Hard to explain, think like a pair of brass knuckles that the tube routes through, basically like your passthrough now but just black and serves no purpose other than making the 6 inch run of tubing perfectly parallel to one another and highlighting the every-other-color schemed :D
Black acrylic would look cool for that matter.
Sweet build
I'm looking at that pass through block .. i wonder if it wouldn't look interesting to use something similar as cable managment .. so eg. that most of tubing goes behind motherboard tray where it cannot be seen and enters via clean-looking pass-throughs like these (though not placed at same place but single pass throughs arround motherboard near places were waterblocks are placed)?
Truly amazing stuff Captain. I love the pass through fittings and the choice of colours!
Nice craftmanship skill whit that pice of alu sheet, very clean work.
Capt.! This is really coming together! I cant wait to see some more of you beautiful Blue and Black color scheme... The pass through plate is pure pr0n btw
I love the port hole too its so clean but also sticks with your theme so well
What beautiful surprises are next captain???
I need to take photography lessons from you. I think you could make a pirate look like a GQ pretty boy with that photography of yours.
How long did it take to dry off after the sailing test? :p:
Very nice sir. I see the wedgie did not return either
The light from below is fantastic!
You should definitely get some wood paneling from the 80's to finish this off btw. Make it all wooden ship-like...
Capt's back and better than ever.
I was wondering where my bottle of Jack got of too though. :(
I love the way that light played off the plexi. The blue did look really cool.
The blue light...WOW!
I can actually finally start to imagine this build in my head, before it was just close-ups of parts, now I have seen the full case and it looks like something "truly special" is in the works.
Capt!
It's all coming together, I'm loving the colors, the lighting (prefer blue pls kthxbai), the photography, and the whole fit and finish. Very excellent work my friend.
Would you mind sharing with me what you're using as backdrop? Whatever it is it's big enough for this giant Borg cube of a case. Is it actually photo backdrop paper or a substitute?
One more thing if you don't mind, what am I looking at here, under the two foreground fittings? It looks like some kinda acrylic cylinder but it's not in any of the other photos.
As always, waiting for your next adventures sir!
omg! Gentleman Jack the best of the best :)
absolutely awesome Cpt.
Gentleman Jack and I have a great relationship
and OT Cpt..you ready for the big UFC 112 card this weekend? i think its going to be a banger.

That Looks Amazing Bro !!
Can't we just send him to the bottom of the ocean along with his case? He'll have plenty of water to cool with down there ;).

The amount of responses in favor of blue leds sealed my decision to go with orange. (I kid.)
I sometimes catch myself gazing in disbelief how well the blue leds turned out with the outfitted acrylic.
Blue it is!
@ALexanderos
....Yes. Seriously. Whiskey. Me grog of choice be Gentleman Jack to be precise.
I swear if I had a dime for everytime I've asked where thar be the rum, I'd be a retired treasure hunter.
Different varieties of rum has been here, done this and left its mark on this here worklog.
Avert your deadlights here, here, and here.
It was just a matter of time when me favorite drink would rear its swirly noggin.
@tool_462
Ahoy Tool, I think I know what you are referring to.
I picked up something from my local Pep Boys awhile back for my last build that resembled mini brass knuckles. Except they're made of plastic or rubber.
They're meant to hold wires in a nice tidy fashion and helps to keep them from tangling.
I think its a great idea and it's something I havent thought of. I'll definitly keep it in mind as I continue towards the horizon.
If I decide to fab something out, it'll be fun deciding how to mount it or somehow having it suspended by having the fit snug enough around the tubing.
@churchy
I think I see where you're coming from with this design idea, churchy. Cable management will probably be one of the biggest obstacles and I do appreciate your excellent ideas.
I'll need all the help I can get to deliver the build from a tangled mess.
@Gary
Thanks Gary! Had a good chuckle at the GQ Pirate visual. Thanks for the kind words regarding my photography but I'm still a noob with much to learn.
But I'd welcome any questions you have and I'd be happy to share what little I know. P.S. My woodworking knowledge is severely lacking but you have inspired me to consider building a desk out of Cherry or Mahagony.
@Kai
I don't mind sharing in the least bit, Kai. Apologies that my reply is severely belated. I use one black and one white background paper rolls. The brand name is "Savage". I also use a black posterboard I picked up at me local Wallgreens.
Here's a couple shots of the white paper roll using the black background roll:

Yes. You've described it better than I would have. I was planning on connecting the tubing from the CPU res into round piece of acrylic instead of connected directly into the midplate.
I'm still drawing up plans. Uncertain at this point if that idea will make itself into the final build.
@illidan
Cheers illidan! :toast:
@theToX
Me hearty Tox: I wanted to take this opp to personally say a whole-hearted thank you for your continuing words of support througout this journey!
Gentleman Jack FTW!
Catch the lopsided Mayweather - Mosely fiasco?
@Charles
Thank you, Charles! Me matey, me inspiration, me compadre.
Thanks certainly isn't enough for your advice and direction.
@Red-5
No apologies neccessary as I'm fully appreciative of you taking the time to share your wonderful comment, Red-5.
@kgtiger
Heh. No compressed air situation was used in the last update. I tend to need it more when I'm fumbling around with the macro lens.
I was playing around with the ultra-wide on the last update.
@sniperbob
Brown chicken brown cow pics coming soon, Bob!
Bilge! I say! Your letter of marque was rejected, landlubber!
@Vinas
Feeding time soon, Vinas, me hearty!
I shall remedy your sadness with glee soon, lassie!
Aye! I deserved all the bumps and knew it was gonna happen sooner or later, Wl.
