Good to hear everything worked fine on testing... can't wait to see what's in the AquaComputer Box..... Always love to see their stuff

Patience weedhopper!
I was going to add the Aqua NB cooler....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...fun/aquanb.jpg
But it doesn't look good ...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01735.jpg
Additionally i would have to mod the bracket as it fits crooked!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01738.jpg
No NB cooler for me. Back to the lab!
The ultimate NB block for the R2E!

A really nice build man!
Mips block looks much better imo :)
Thanks for the pics. Too bad about the NB block ... I see what you mean about it being crooked - it does make it look funky.
Yeah definitely go with the Mips.
That Aqua one looked horrible on there, and that just won't do....
Yes the Mips ones are very good looking :D
I think I need a break from looking at the Worklog section.
Everytime I come here my credit card starts burning me in my back pocket in my wallet.
What about the MCW-NBMAX by Swiftech? I have it on my MIIF and the build quality is nice.
http://jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCW-NBM...r-pr-4272.html
I am not going to use a NB cooler after all. I tried another one today and I cannot accomplish the clean look with dual VC's.
I did play with the sexy EK VC blocks and I love them. I didn't use the standoffs and the 285's are a much better designed card than the 280's.
Without clothes....and notice all the thermal pads, drove me nuts!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01740.jpg
With clothes, much sexier I think:up:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01744.jpg
Closeup....sweet
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01745.jpg
And a pose...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01746.jpg
I did some sleeving too but I didn't take any pics. You all know what that looks like. Now it's playtime...........
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...offun/YD34.jpg
More tomorrow.....stay tuned!
Loving it! (The GPUs AND the pups).
Great pictures Rocky. I really like how the Ek 285 blocks look, very slick and substantial.
Your pups look very happy. ;)
Thanks Shazza, if you fed them or walked with them, you wouldn't call them pups! And let's not forget that you are the culprit of this entire 285 switcheroo!
However, I am glad you pushed me over the top. Sometimes a small disaster can turn into a good thing. As previously mentioned, the 285's have a much better design.
Thanks BA. I am trying to get better with the pics.
The EK blocks are substantial to say the least and they are very well made.
I never thought that a company would equal to the quality and looks of Aqua but EK has changed my mind. JMO
BTW, if you ate steak tartar everyday you would be happy too!:ROTF:
I'm a big fan of EK too now after being in possession of a set...
nice pics - pups look ready for hours of fun :yepp:- hope you can keep up after all the work
i wonder what the next round of sleeving produced
Looks fantastic, Now just bundle it up and ship to me :p:
Really like how the memory on those cards is on the one side.
Looking good Rocky, looking forward to moar pics.
Yep, the EK blocks are ART!
Sleeving? Still the same, black as usual, but with a much better twist!
:ROTF: I like the memory too!
John, you alaways want mooooooaaaaaaarrrrrrrr! Have some scotch!
Awesome man......those blocks are pure sexiness.
Those EK blocks look great... too bad about the AquaComputer Block, I was looking on getting that block but after seeing it on the board I think you made the right decision on not using it.
Usually AC stuff looks great, that block defintely looks like a miss... fit and aethestics wise...appreciate you reporting out the results since it saved me from geting it.
Looking veyr smexy! And pups are adorable! *cuddleS*

More updates tonight.
Oh my God :hump:
That is absolute SEXY!!
Looking great, seeker. I was wondering if you had tried to take apart the AC block and flip the mounting plate upside down, whould it work then?
Wowsers Seeker!!
I think I have just officially decided on my next two video cards when it is finally time for me to upgrade!!
And I think I also know exactly what I want to do when i'm ready to watercool!
Sorry, I'm not creative at all in my own mind, that's why I frequent these magnificent threads, lol.
Keep up the excellent work, I'm highly impressed (for whatever it's worth).
OK folks I need some opinions. I am taking my time and redoing all of my cable management and playing with the colors again. These pics show my idea of adding blue to the bottom PCI-e cables on the end of each 285. LMK what you think, or

At least my sleeving skills are improving, I think?
Now I am waiting on the peppermint sleeving from Nils (blue & white interwoven) and I will be done!
As always, all comments are welcome!
Rocky, your pictures are really improving and I like the blue accent color there, good idea.
The blue really makes it look fresh and it pops out at you. It reminds me of the original murderbox. ;)
Yep, I'm liking the blue too. (and, "No, I am NOT going to redo mine with some red, just cause yours looks nice"). Really looks like things are shaping up. You're in the groove, but surely it must be Scotch time in Texas.
I like that color accent
I love the blue, that is clean looking, like BA says, pops right out at you.
Damn Rocky those pictures are fantastic.
I do like the blue and would like to see them secured tight to the black bundle to see the effect. And I ran out of scotch so please don't think less of me, I had to drink some Crown Royal "Special Blend" tonight. :)
Definitely stick with the blue, it looks great.
Not only that, but I hate to think of you putting all that effort into sleeving those cables only to take the idea out of the build, lol.
Great artistic vision there!
Many thanks Yil!
NaeKuh, Enjoy what you have while you can! Thank you for the nice comment about our "KID's." The great thing about them is that they love us unconditionally, however, we have never skipped feeding them!:D
Alan, I had to in order to get it to fit, albeit crooked! Hope you are doing well.
Thanks buddy, it is worth a lot! You should really take the H20 plunge! You will always have a great deal of help and you will not regret it!
Thanks BA! I truly appreciate your input. I am trying to tie in the blue sleeving with the tubing and hoping to be artistic at the same time.
I was attempting a "pop" as you stated. I did a dry run and they look good under the LED's. However, I don't about the original M|M Box?
Thanks for all of the encouragement and tips along the way!
Thank you Shazza! You are my heroin, not to mention you cost me a lot of bucks! I love your "out there" approach. Thanks for the inspiration!
Yes, the scotch is flowing and we have a big dinner in the making, Carne Asada, pinto beans, homemade tortillas, queso and much more! Thanks for the input!
Thanks Jokester! It appears that the blue will stay..... So far
Thanks Jhors2, I appreciate the feedback!
:banana::banana::banana::banana:, that was a lot of typing!:eek:
Thanks folks!
John,
I will secure them! You are a PITA, just kidding!
You should slap yourself for not having a backup bottle of scotch:ROTF:
Thanks! It appears that the blue is ahead 5-0.
I really appreciate the artistic comment. I strive for artistic and creative, yep I am wierd, but I am happy and I don't take Prozac!
I like the blue accent - it looks really nice - can we get a pic of what the flow would look like off the v-cards
I also think the blue looks great....Do they make the same color blue heat shrink to have it be competely blue? Your sleeving job does look great I just hope mine improves with my next build.
Thanks PradaG! The blue is obviously a keeper and thanks for your input.
The flow may be the same as pictured below, but I am considering something completely different.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01639.jpg
Man ... I dont think I can ever get sick at looking at those nickle plated EK blocks just goes so wll the shinny silve BP fittings also.
The Blue sleeving looks good also as it give some color to the build and matches your tubing well.
Hey, Seeker, someone pointed it out in the BP lovin' thread already but wanted to make sure you knew that your second GPU won't get any flow.
I think he meant this picture from the previous page. Now it's ok.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01753.jpg
And of course it looks stunning.
That is not the way it will be installed. I just slapped it together to take pics.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01639.jpg
That is the money shot! Nice job Rocky.
What BP fitting is that that you use to connect the blocks? How do you like the dual 285's with your 30" monitor? I'm trying to decided if I go for Tri-SLI or not.
Thanks Rodney!
This is the BP fitting http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=22623
The 285's in SLI are screamers. After reading all the reviews and playing a few games I decided 2 cards were enough. Although you may want to ask Shazza what she thinks.
A little update!
I finally solved the VC wiring problem and I like the blue sleeving, although I wish it were a bit deeper blue. I still have to decide where to rout the VC wires to the PSU but I have a few ideas and maybe one more trick left up my "sleeve."
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01759.jpg
Much better than the Zeus wiring...thanks Charles!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01760.jpg
A couple of aerial views.......:ROTF:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01761.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01762.jpg
I still have to manage the wires but I like the effect...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01763.jpg
I have to get better at this......
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01764.jpg
LMK what you think! This log has to end soon so I can M|M my dual Opty server.
Now it's time for a scotch, you too John!
End, what do you mean end? We will have no talk like that here mister. We expect you to do what Shazza did and make it the perpetual build so we can all get our daily fixes.
She says that it is because of hardware issues but we all know that she is really doing it to help us "Build Junkies". ;) :toast2:
NICE!
now were talking!
you can do all kinds of things w/ all those cables...it looks WAY better than the original w/ the inline PCI-E's (little stubz)
now to mastermind the flow :) do you have enough length in the wires to bring the top v-card wires above the card rather than below? (leaving the bottom card wires going to the bottom) -
depending on how you can arrange them, it would look nice through the top plexi (especially since you have 2 colors...the blue will def draw the eye)
can't wait to see what comes next
Come on John, this is getting longer than a Cecil B. DeMille movie!
The server M|M build will be much more interesting, trust me!
Having a scotch yet?
Thanks PradaG!
I toyed with running one set of wires over the top but it doesn't look quite right and it would really stretch the wires. I will probably keep it similar to what it looks like now. However, I will manage the wires much better.
I am really having fun at this point but my fingers are tired from sleeving!
Looking good! On the blue ... I think the slightly lighter blue cabling will be fine. If you want a tubing that is closer to the cabling, you can try the Primochill LRT ... it's available in 3/8" by 5/8" :
http://shazza53.smugmug.com/photos/4...15_hqhMJ-S.jpg
(Photo from Performance PCs)
I used the 7/16" version in my earlier iteration. And, to respond to Mr. SiGfever --- I agree, you can't finish the build - unless, you promise to go right into another!
Looking good Rocky!
In addition to the Primochill, I'd suggest also try clear hose and blue Feser One coolant. I reckon that'll come close to matching the blue of your accent sleeving.
Looks like you could use a bit more room behind your reservoir. If my custom mount design works out, I'll make an extra set for you. :)
Shazza thanks for the kudos!
Now you tell me about the tubing. It looks good but my fingers are still recovering from the sleeving and I am not about burn them with new tubing!
And I am ready to start the next build. It will be called "Copper-Head" and it will be a silver TJ07.
The Feser One comes premixed. :yepp:
As for the res mount in development; I'd say its pretty far from "Industrial". In fact, I'm going for a floating look ~ minimalistic with the reservoir supported by two sets of three adjustable pins. That's the idea at least...
Once the prototype is complete, I'll post pics in Daniel's worklog. :)
:ROTF:~:ROTF:~:ROTF:
I took the pic away because upon reflection, I thought it was rather uncouth of me to be cluttering up your buildlog with my stuffs...
Do I still has to be shooted? :wiggle:
Charles should be shooted, but only because HE is the cause of us spending more money (not ME, as some have mistakenly maligned).
Nice res mounts, Charles.
Note ... I do agree that the Feser One Blue in clear tubing would be a nice touch, as I can attest that it is a lighter color than the Feser blue tubing. And, the color would be nice in the acrylic blocks as well. One caveat ... you do get some "spillover" of the colored coolant onto the nickel insets in the acrylic block, which might not sit will with your perfectionist nature.
:ROTF: Shazza, You kid yourself. You both should be shooted! You (Shazza) caused the 285 event and Charles caused the numerous M|M sleeving kits.
And not to mention the numerous midplates that are in my possession.
However, I will need those Res mounts very soon.
I may be tempted to use a "colorant" in my loop as long as it is blue and it will not cause any unsightly mess in my blocks.
Enough, I have to eat, run the dogs and brush my teeth!
Goodnight kids.
BTW, stay tuned for the "Copper-Head" build. This will be a rebuild of my server. A Silver TJ07 with dual Opty's, dual H20 cooled VC's and it will consist of AC gear. It should be fun.
I BLAME ALL OF YOU *stands ontop of soap box and points at all of you!! Wretched people with beautiful beautiful technology......I now go to bed....bitspower fittings.....mm noonono, tri sli ek blocks.....ahhh....What if I ran a radiator for each of those....so extreme.....many restless nights I must say. Don't even get me started on sleeving!!
Oh, come on, Jhors2 --- you know you want it!!! (Although I'd say dual 285s is ample, even on a 30" monitor).
Rocky ... you know you wanted those 285s, cause the EK blocks look good! And, I love your reason for editing your last post. Now, I gotta head out to the spa for a bit of relaxation and thinking (hmmmnnn, how do I turn that fried Aquaero LCD into the reason for something fun and new????)
Rocky I like that blue sleeving...so much so I wanted some...but my colors/them have changed. It still looks good on your rig though.
Charles, how do you think of this stuff? Incredible...just plane incredible!
Seeker.... I tip my hat !!!!!! awesome progress and updates there !!!!!
I dont want my M|M any more.......... :(
@theseeker.....well done  You have turned your build into art, love it
Sir Rocky: so much fun hanging out in this thread :D Btw. - you are not forgotten, I just have so much to do. I am also very sorry that you can never complete your build because of everything that comes out ... I should not mention the next thing that you will change ... it is blue :D
I am considering using the Cuplex Di instead of the HD. I think it looks better with the blue top.
The HD....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01613.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01595.jpg
The Di......
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01802.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01803.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01804.jpg
I doubt there will be much of a performance hit. I was very cool at 4.4 with the Di before I started the madness.
LMK what you think.
Both tops look great Rocky. I like the way the "HD" has the black and silver to fit in with the MB theme. But the "DI" is damn sexy. Either way you win.
Both are GREAT blocks, german stuff is always great!
MMM,to bad that the blue top not (100%) matches you blue tubing.
Besides that it looks great!!
I prefer the black and silver top of the first one :D
DI FTW! I like the blue them you have goin' on. :D
Nice pics too. I've meant to say that a while ago.
Thanks for the input and the kudos!
Rodney, thanks for the compliment regarding the pics. I am trying!
Now for the latest..........
I think it best to stick with the HD.......
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01810.jpg
The Di was a little distracting......
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01811.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01812.jpg
I can't resist the aerial views......
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01813.jpg
Last one........
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01818.jpg
I am much happier with the wiring and I like the blue. It's too bad the sleeving is not a little darker. Overall I like this one a lot better than the first attempt.
LMK what you think!
Think you made a good call to stick with the HD.
I definitely like this version better than the first. I actually think the blue sleeving and tubing look fine together ... and you'll see a bit more contrast when you have everything buttoned up, but it will still blend nicely.
Have you fired up those 285s yet?
Thanks Shazza!
I am very happy with it and especially the wiring after changing PSU's. The Zeus had those interconnected VC cables that are really nasty to deal with.
I did fire up the 285's and I was a bit surprised. I ordered the 285 FTW's while drinking, the only way I could talk myself in to it, and they did not disappoint! I still have many things to do but I should be gaming by Sunday.
Rocky this is a stellar build and I can't wait to see what you do with your Opty server.
how do your temps look?
I'm a fan of both blocks. It's like choosing between the wife and the girlfriend, both good choices. lol
Hmmmnnn ... is she going to do the re-sleeving
I still dunno. I'd probably try the primochill tubing first - but then I know it's not easy to squeeze those barbs into the 3/8" tubing.
Toasting y'all with a nice Sanford Chardonnay (gotta be clear-headed tomorrow for cable tucking, so no Scotch for me).
Now you are on the board of directors!
Enjoy it John! LMK what you think about it.
And now for something completely different, a man with three.......
Just kidding and showing my age!
OK, the leak test is ongoing after the burning finger with the boiling H20 and tubing treatment. And no Shazza, I am not switching to Primochill and my wife will not redo the sleeving either!
Without further adieu the latest pics.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01819.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01820.jpg
Now I understand what high-flow means.........
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01821.jpg
I have a little more air in the system this time around......
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01822.jpg
Lastly, the artistic shot and my favorite.......
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC01825.jpg
It has been cold and rainy today and the tubing was an unusually difficult to get on. I burned the absolute :banana::banana::banana: out of two of my fingers! I prescribed a glass of scotch on the rocks to help my fingers cool down. I am not sure if the cold glass will help my fingers but my brain feels better.
All that is left is a few wires to sleeve on the 24 pin and I will be good to go. I will be up and running tomorrow afternoon. In the words of Yogi Berra, "It's Deja Vue all over again."
Nice everything is running well...
I see the temp sensor on your EK res... i was wondering what your going to be using if monitor that?
The cyclone in the res looks familiar. ;)
The new videocards look awesome with the fullcoverblocks!
