Got a strange but minor issue. Using OCCT, the app is reading 5.16v on the core....I have version 2.0.1 that is seems others are using, but I am not getting proper vcore readings. I do not have CPU-Z or ET6 running, so they shouldn't be interfering. If I run P95 with cpu-z open, I can see my vcore doesn't budge with LLC enabled, but wouldn't mind seeing how the OCCT graph compares.
Any ideas?
NM: removed and reinstalled it and now the values stay when I change them.

He probably flashed in DOS. When you download the f5 beta, double click it and then select the top box "Extrahiren" or "extract" and it will extract the bios to a folder that you select "Durchsuchen" or "browse".

Also when you screw the NB heatsink on, do the screws bottom out limiting the mounting pressure or is it possible to over-tighten the screws?
Could someone point out the real different between the UD3P and UD3R?I'm looking at gigabytes site and the only thing i see is that the 3R doesn't have the two PCIe slots and ultra TPM<--- whatever that is. I need your help. I tried to flash a mod vista bios for the ud3r and the result was that it messed up. The board doesn't boot , it makes one long sound (which i found to indicate a cmos error). I tried to clearmos , take out the battery but nothing.
Is there any way that i could recover it ? It seems that the dual bios doesn't work.
I read that in asus p5q mobos , you can swift the bios chips. Is it possible with the ud3r?

hey i really cant complain though....$110 board and its one of the best overclocking p45,s you can get your hands on....they could of easily sold these boards for more money.....and they seem to love quad core,s according to the forum...it sure handled my E8400..:D
Finally got mine working (had to do long clear CMOS, good from there) and this is what I just typed in and am running on..
Before you say weak, I've not OCed an Intel platform since my old 2.53B. also, there's no voltage changes, nothing but FSB change. I'm not displeased. It also happens to be under the stock low profile cooler-you know, the one so small you can install it on the motherboard tray and then still slide it in a Lian-Li, it's so small.

I OCed Abit and Asus but no idea about Gigabyte and my G0 Q6600. I was building SFF with everything listed in my sig but smoke damage(no damage to PC parts :clap:) to home, my wife hurting her back, my 11months old stomach virus, daughter cold all in same week then birthday, living in hotel for 2 weeks.....etc etc etc I don't have time to finish that project and it will be stopped indefintely untill everything settles down. I've ordered Lian-Li A05B, GA-EP45-UD3P and will be ordering 4x2GB G.Skill Pi Black probably tomorrow or day after. I'm not going to mod this much if at all for some time but still want to OC. I had stable 3.6Ghz with Asus P5E-VM HDMI but seems Gigabyte BIOS is way different than anything I've seen and seems more complicated(Yes, I'm still noob :() Anyone able to help out here? Maybe cookiecutter BIOS to base as starting point? and max setting(voltage or what not) would be icing on cake.

What is the consensus on the best BIOS for the UD3P? F5 isn't as good as F4 and I don't want to keep flashing beta's to find the best one, my time is limited.
@by-tor the cell shocks are awesome,right now though im running one of my mushin pc-8000 with them for a total of 3 gigs, they seem to be playing nice together.i just got them (muskin) but one stick is bad

I was able to 4.75 ghz on my e8500 E0 with 500 FSB..

burp i flashed to the new beta bios its total crap. only good thing is that i can now select my stick to boot but for a quadcore f4 still is the best bios imo.

By the way i'm using F7a bios.
Get rid of the .5 multiplier and set XMP to disabled. Also, 4GHz may be close to limit on a C0 stepping or just your particular cpu. Is LLC enabled? Do not use normal settings in voltages section, use auto or set manually. Try auto in advanced timing control except for command rate.

Now is up and running!Testing orthos for 10 minutes now!
Looks like this ram like 400 latch!I've never been able to get this fsb in this board and now i know why!

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of bios after bios for the UD3P....mean while their has only been one official bios update for the UD3R. I mean cmon gigabyte its not like we are talking a $300 motherboard vs. a $100. If I knew the support was gonna be so good for the UD3p vs the UD3r, I wouldve paid the xtra $20!
There never was an F3 release for the UD3P. First release BIOS was F4 and now F5. There are a few betas out as well.Quote:

As I already wrote, i only want to be sure ;), because I've very limited amounts of "free" money, and getting a board just to push FSB +20Mhz is already a bit crazy.

well my UD3R is able to run 1:1 and PL8 above 500 FSB.
the Static tRead Value (tRD, or Performance level) setting has to do with RAM that are using on the system as well, not just the board's chipset and vdimm/MCH voltage setting.
as of my testing right now with a mixed RAM kits running at CAS4,
the tRD value of 8 can be set in BIOS to upto 519 FSB and the system boots into Windows just fine,
above 519MHz the PL9 setting is needed (system won't boot otherwise).

BTW, pest, if i can recall, it's been since Jan-Feb but i'll try to get some old BIOS settings that i used to use with the P35-DS4s and E8200/E6750,
but i think i was able set PL7 on my P35-DS4 running 500 FSB and 1:1 at DDR2-1000 4-4-4-x timing.

ive got a quick question
how safe would it really be to run this 24/7? there is a LOT of fud regarding voltages and temps, and i honestly dont know what to believe regarding what is safe and what is too much

I wouldnt have a problem running that 24/7. I run the same vcore and much higher volts than you everywhere else for my 24/7 setup.
