And GPU is under water. I do not own Tek4.0 :(
Thanks Vince

Vince, your creature is awesome!
With a little bit of luck I can do better!
SO CLOSE Nachthy!!
Comon dude, keep pushing it. There's still room for a third-place on the list of sub-seven second runs!
;D
vince any news on the chipset containers :p:
.
so i wont see swings like THIS when i get my F1-EE?
WARNING: SCREAMING 40mm fans in video TURN your volume DOWN!!
.
Joe_Camel as Blind says, you will not see swings like that, its simply one of the best containers you can buy :)
thank ghod, as a LN2 n00b, i need all the help i can get ;)
(that was from my 2nd time on LN2 ever)
we all started from ground, thats what overclocking is about, sharing, learning and not least support each other
There are also others that have supported and helped me in the overclocking scene, thats the spirit
and as said you will not go wrong with a dragon unit for sure
http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/5606/pict0103ab1.jpg
this thing is a FRICKING BEAST!!!
mounting "ring" insulation done
i'll drill the temp probe hole tomorrow @ work and get down to some "tube" insulation
should be a wicked fun weekend :D
quick question...
temp probe hole...
"up to 1/4" deep hole" parallel with the CPU contact face (1) or the "side" (2) ?
http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/7...obeholeer1.jpg
.
I did parallel. Use a nail or something to make first little spot for the bit so it wont slide of.
Joe_Camel, after the guide from Vince, you would like to use you draw number one :)
Cool holdown insulation man! Always good to see how you guys do things your own style that what it's all about, Good luck with your benching and maybe you should post up a vid of the temp swings on the F1 under full load at 2v + ;). Hope you tear it up!!
.
i used some 1/4" foam with 2-way tape i found in the garbage from the company next to ours (bottom)
you could easily do it with some of the 2" x 1/8" insulation tape (top)
you'd just end up with more layers and more seams
http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/1856/pict0105ot3.jpg
a SHARP double sided razor blade would have helped
http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/8980/pict0106ld8.jpg
~1/2" total on the outside should do it
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/6627/pict0107wc7.jpg
not a very pretty hole but once you stick it in (the temp probe) who cares what it looks like :p:
http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/3882/pict0108td2.jpg
http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/7779/pict0109nz8.jpg
ill be SURE to make a vid of the "swing"!!
went to check on the tank today and its EMPTY! :(
guess i went through 35l A LOT faster than i thought
(but with the pour rate in vid, i guess i shouldnt be too surprised)
.
yes, i DID think about shaving my nipple hair when i snapped the razor in half but decided against it

.
i love that NB cooler
thanks :toast:
good ol' Thermalright NB-1C
and thats the fan you hear in the video
1U server fan
twin, counter rotating, 40mm SCREAMERS
ive got a NB pot in the works... modded stock C2D (copper core) HSF
well, my first night with the F1-EE was.... well....
im getting massive amounts of "frost" inside
i say "frost" because its only @ the very bottom of the "groove" and it appears gray
if it were normal frost id assume it would occur all over the inside so im a little baffled
this frost causes the LN2 to flash off VERY fast IE an entire "pour" (1-2 shots) is GONE in about 1-2 sec
im wondering if anyone has encountered something similar and or how to prevent/fix this
im in an ACed room so humidity shouldnt be an issue
i did use a propane torch to get above bug temp once
it was getting very deep!
as in 1/4 - 3/8" (6-10mm) thick... i needed a drill to "drill it out" of the "groove"
(i say "groove" because this is an EE ;))
------------------
that was just a test mount using a VERY small TIM ball
as in this small:
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1305/pict0136sk8.jpg
(FX-57 IHS)
-----------
bazx,
id take pictures but that would be an internal shot of an EE :nono:
.
I've had many of the holes on the F1EE completely packed with ice, didn't hinder performance too badly. Due to my local humidity the entire interior of the pot frosts over within minutes and each pour just knocks the frost loose and causes a new layer to form. After each bench session I can usually dump an ounce to an ounce and half of water out of my F1EE  Nice insulation job there but that test TIM contact patch still looked pretty thick. Maybe it's just the high quality photo :shrugs:
maybe its just my inexperience with LN2 but the frost really seems to effect how long i have liquid in the holes
even from the first pour (pot @ room temp) i can have liquid in the holes for 15-20 sec (starting from holes completely full) but when there is frost in them, its gone in just a few seconds
isnt this effecting how much LN2 i end up using?
i assumed the time the liquid was around would be somewhat proportional to the temp of the pot (and load obviously)
IE
warm pot = fast flash-off
cold pot = slower flash-off
the "frost" does not go away after (during) each pour, it appears to act like a sponge and absorbs the liquid
.
I don't think you go thru more nitro. It does flash off faster but it also imparts the cooling energy into the unit faster. On the Rev3 I use, when ice gets in there you do have to pour more often but with less volume to maintain benching temp ranges.
k|ngp|n F1 EE & Windforce Noth POT :D (45mm Aluminium)

omw.... that northbridge pot is the coolest thing ive ever seen.. gl with the results looking forward to it :)! ramp extreme ftw. paired with f1 GG
Awesome looking setup!
JC>
if your pot is wet and or room is humid 'rem copper can hold a colder temp than room temp at times' causing condensation' when you pour ln2 in you will get the effect your speaking of
if you run i a cool dry room and pot is ambeint and dry you shouldnt ever exp the effect your speaking of.
Wow some neat action going on here JC :)
Sweet looking setup there OC Windforce
im going to give the inside a good cleaning (remove any possible residue from any number of possible sources) and give it a try again.
ill be sure bring a temp/humid meter with me, try NOT to need to torch it.... and try again
assuming it comes back, ill take pics/video (not that ill post them publicly)
obviously, this isnt an isolated occurrence or that im doing something fundamentally wrong, which puts my mind to ease somewhat, so i guess i just learn to reduce it as much as possible and work with/around it as best i can.

My F1 EE arrived this week but it got caught by customs. Luckily they thought it was pen holder
I'll be overclocking Core i7 Extreme Edition 3,2 GHz in two weeks, results will be posted when NDA is lifted. Vince sent me the mounting brackets with LGA1366 fittings, thanks buddy
that's the new one .....i promise you ;)
check the old one,
http://www.overclockingpin.com/shamino%20f1.gif
in the new one there are 4 more holes
giorgioprimo I think he is agreeing with you about the bracket :)
Yes :D
Vince, how can i get a new mounting kit? :P
I cant wait to see that new bracket put to use.
.
still getting frost, but without "torching it" its MUCH much less
also still have mem issues to work out ...

TEMP SWING F1-EE VIDEO
those weren't pretty pours... turns out, shooting video solo during a 3D bench isnt too easy
near the end of my session (tank) i was "micro-pouring" every 5-10 sec and could hold temps +/-3C
will need more practice

Beautiful beautiful, do not wait to the test. Vince big hug, then leave a few photos with the boy in charge.
what´s the difference between normal edition of f1ee and yours?
only the text on the box afaik
No no no They are all different and VERY special. Each F1 is specifically tuned for that users "stated" ability in addition to varying quantities of magic dust being applied to the base on each unit.
58k views!, Havent been in here really that much. So many great pics in here, thx alot guys!
