You guys are tempting me to grab one of these, good work!
Just got the CPU and Mobo in, waiting for the HS to show up, ordered the Ultra120 extreme. Batch#L845B522:shrug:. Dealt with a stuck sensor for well over a year on my e8400 so if its just the idle bug I can live with it. Main concern is if it oc's well. Also got the rev 1.1 ud3p, was hoping for the 1.0, my other is a 1.0. Will try and get it going as soon as the rest of the parts come in.
Edit: Stratch that, ordered the cooler from jabtech and they sent the am2 version. bracket wont fit. Will have to wait on the build or take my other rig apart to use the cooler for now.
Every time I check back in this thread it makes me want to sell my P5Q-E and get a UD3P. I would love to get this thing stable at 4.5GHz (on air!).
Jab-tech had the parts shipped out within an hour of contacting them. Got a Fed Ex tracking # in less than 2 hours. Cant ask for more than that.
Put the tuniq on it, got it running. Stock vid is 1.2125, priming at 400x9 stock vid.
well ive been playing with my Q9650. its batch is L844B801 and VID is 1.2375v and i cant seem for the life of me to get it stable at 4ghz (445x9). ive tried all the way up to 1.3825v on the cpu and + 0.2v on the fsb. i have the GTL's on Auto and havent touched any of the clock skews on my X38DQ6. any suggestions guys?
this is as high as i can get my 9650 run.not 100% stable but i dont want to prime it too long with vcore so high1.44 in bios.i can boot into windows and prime for about 2 1/2 minute at 9x500 4500 ddr1250 but it needs 1.46 vcore in bios.im going to sell this chip and try my luck at getting a low vid one so i can feel comfortable running 9x500 4500 with hopefully less than 1.39vcore.

[QUOTE=xguntherc;3697845]L845 and it's VID is 1.18.. wow.. thats a great chip.
I heard that the L845's have stuck sensors in most of them, and that the newer chips didn't have sensor problems, but the recent 44's and 45's do.
Have one stuck sensor, reads 41c idle but under load it is in line with the other cores. Not a big deal really.
Same here I have 1 stuck sensor, it reads about 10c higher on idle than the other 3 cores
Under load the temps are all in line and read within 1-3 from each other
Got everything installed on the new board today. It seems more stable, may be the new PSU though not sure. At 4.0ghz-445x9 temps are good with the Ultra 120 Extreme, even with an old single Antec fan. Ordered a couple Scythe fans, should be in today. Need to get my vcore down. Did a quick prime blend run just to check temps. Very pleased with the cooler.
im just doing some quick test's,to see what the g.skill 9600's can do.

these are with the black label.and with power supply,on this board and max II it shows 12.00 to 12.49v.but with the dfi ut-p35-t2r it showed 11.97 to 12.03v
Radaja, that 1.41 vcore is scary....
yes i agree coo-coo-clocker.it was just a very quick test to see what it takes.thats why i want to get a low vid chip.i have the cooling to handle it i just dont like using high volts, but i do love high clocks
