Very interesting news you got there.
See if those mems are really as good as this Twinmos and if they match the AA4T and 44D/50D.

i've asked how much would the shipping be from OC.de to spain, and it's really expensive (around 40€!). For 200€ i can buy some Vx or something like that from USA...

:( Spain usually sucks in hardware :P

EDIT: From what i have read there "Specially designed"
by "Subcontractor's" for twinMOS...

They look like BP though

I bought a kit from oc.de to, delivery was 30 euro to the Netherlands :S They don't have the Speed Premium anymore :(

in fact, i haven't seen any advantage on BP pcb for UTT chips. please correct me if i'm wrong. :rolleyes:

EDIT: i have look the pics more closely... ko-6633 idd. :)

ahaaa..

10 1GB pairs came in yesterday.. 3 of them could do 230MHz 2-3-2-5 @ 2.85v. Its kinda bulk order for us here at lowyat.net.

you are right, its KO-6633

with cpc on nothing over 225 Fsb is stable, flashed d26 mantaray xt cpc off and got 234 x11 @3.15v,atm.
have to add board has no vdimm=vio mod, only 3.3v rail modded
it's time to buy an a64 and a new dfi board S939 :D

Well I just read 58 pages of this and still have no proof this memory improves over VX. Sure, it is cheaper but then you have the uncertainty factor about what you will get and the fact that there may be more unpredictability on how they perform considering the cheapness of manufacture / binning/ production dates.

There are people scurrying about for these with nforce2 for godsake. Eeks.

If anyone can give me 2-5-2-2 at 300Mhz 1:1 with a 3dmark lobby score then I will change my tune. Then I will know it is the next best thing.

At the moment I think this is just mass hysteria for the sake of $2.50.

Erm where did you get $2.50 from ?

Your also forgetting that this has changed how some ppl list their memory , like my local supplier.
Another plus is the Twinmoss comes in 256 modules too, so ppl who asked OCZ for 256 and got a 'no plan too' can just get a nice cheap alternative.
Another plus is VX is not readily available to everyone, but twinmoss is.

I think all the input ppl in this thread have given means that anyone can go 'armed when they set out to purchase some UTT. Some companies have exploited the situation, as they always do, but generaly UTT is more then 1/2 half the price of VX and does as good :)

I am unsure yet as to whether I will be getting any of these. I will know in a couple of days, but in the meantime, I've already PM'ed him in order to try to get the info off the chips.

He also sent me a PM which said that a shipment of Corsairs came in with them as well. It would appear that they are being used by everyone. Should that be the case it will be interesting for the next few months as we test a bunch of value ram.

There is a lot of validity to your point. If you go with the OCZ VX, you have several things going in your favor. You know that they are binned and are touted by the reps here to do a minimum of 240 (A64) and they are warranted up to 3.5v so in effect, you are encouraged to ramp up the juice. For that guarantee, you pay a price premium, just like you pay in almost everything around us.

There is another side to all of this, however. Some people enjoy the hunt for the little gems that are all around us. It is the sport of the hunt that gets the hunter out or the fisherman to brave the elements. Here the object of the hunt is different, but its still a hunt. VX is more like going down to the grocery store and buying a premium steak. You get exactly what you want, you don't have to sweat it and you can enjoy it for what it is...a fine cut of beef. No concerns about whether or not you eat tonight.

The hunter or fishermen doesn't know whether or not he will be coming home with a doe or a trout, but if he does then not only will it be a treat, it will also be a story to be shared...the story of the hunt or of the catch. I think the hunt is just as much fun as the feast.

I believe that there is a certain amount of "Story" to these modules as well, after all...Winbond is back!
