Hi guys, try this beta released 16.April...(Update CPU microcode):
GA-X58A-UD7 - F7f
I am using EK Block as well. If you get one be sure you check your NB to ensure it is making contact before using the machine. Mine was not and I had to use excessive paste to make it work, another user here sanded down his spacers.
No PWM Temp readouts on these boards. Did you try the latest Easytune on the page before this one? Stasio just posted it a day or so ago, finally worked for me after the past 10+ did not
Ohh, you can use it if you want. You will need 3/8" tubing though.
Not sure how well it performs? Or yes, you can leave it on and just do not connect water to it and be fine as well if you want, or add the hybrid heatpipe to that too if you wanted
How's the fan control with this board? I have a PWM controlled CPU, that should be no problem to get bios controlled based on CPU temperature, but I would also like 2 fan headers that are bios controlled, so that my case fans spin up as mobo temperature rises. Does this board have this feature? Thanks! :)
There is a SYS_Fan2 header that is PWM/Voltage Controlled, but it is often problematic and will only run half speed.
This issue is common on all GIGABYTE Boards that I have seen, not sure why they do that? BIOS f7d allows PWM Slope CPU/Case fan control (If you download from Stasio's link at TT), which should allow you to correct the SYS_Fan2 speeds, but that is only in that one BIOS
Yo guys,
I just installed my new Sapphire HD 5970 OC and I canīt enable ATi CrossFire.
One gpu rund at 735 MHz (thats default) the other always runs at 157 MHz (thats 2D) no matter what kind of game I am playing. I cannot wake it up to 735 MHz.
I deinstalled, reinstalled the drivers, created a new W 7 partition to see if there might be anything wrong... no way. I am still having this ATi CrossFire diabled issue.
So my last thought is the BIOS. Might it have something to do with the settings?
I set Init Display PCIEx16-1.
Does anybody have a good idea?
quest:
was gaming last night and my ssd suddenly stopped being detected for the bios despite several restarts
finally it started being detected again
event log show NO drive controller errors
this is on the ich10R
after about 10 min another reboot sand the bios can see it again! boots normally
when the SSD (vertex le) not detected all 5 magnetic drives were found- but I am still curious if my ich/ core and i/o voltages could have cause this
was running-
ich i/o 1.58v
ich core 1.24v
bclk 200 4.2 ghz
what do you think?
rig has otherwise run well for 2 weeks so it was very random!
@Lsdmeasap: I forgot to post an update on the ek chipset block, your posts were spot on, no contact on nb at all. A gob of mx-3 fixed it right up.

Hopefully Eddy will pick up on this and check into what the deal is with the ek block.
Sorry for the confusion! CPU fan header is also controllable as well.
The F7d BIOS has PWM Slope controls added (For CPU/SYS_Fan2), this BIOS was modified by GIGABYTE Germany and is not an official BIOS that is why.
I am trying to see if we can get this added in by GIGABYTE Taiwan, plan to ask about it this week but I am sure even if they will add it it will take a few BIOS versions.
Thanks for the update! I thought your situation sounded like mine.
Glad to see you got it fixed up.
Ya, hopefully Eddy sees this (Send him a PM maybe if you talk to him), I emailed back and forth with Gregor about it but I think he may have thought it more to be my fault than a design flaw. So he may not have passed it on or thought anything more about it.
Since he is a quality and development officer I'd hope my experience would mean something and help them redo how the block is attached, but not sure if he thought anymore about it after we stopped talking.
I know using WAY to much paste like I had to is not ideal, it works yeah but users should not have to do that at all. Let me know if you PM Eddy, and what he has to say about it all.
Yo guys,
sorry that I have to insist on my "cannot enable ATi CrossFire issue".
I am not sure if the problem is caused by the PLX-chip of my graphic card or caused by the board.
Somebody told my about the same problem using an AM2-Board, when he graded up to AM3 the problem was gone.
Well, I am having Gigabyte - but does anybody have experiences about the X58A- UD7 running a mgpu graphic card?
Or better, does anybody have an idea what is causing these problems?
What does the post code 5d mean? When I first install the HD 5970 the board refused to start with a 5d code.
^ Hi mate i don't think it is board related problem & u should report this problem to Sapphire .
I have a 5970 and a 5870 running in trifire on my ud7 never had any problem booting, I think something is up with your card.
Well,
I could wake up the second gpu to 735 MHz by the help of the ATiTrayTOOL.
http://www.abload.de/img/atitray1sjp.png
But I have got a gray frozen Screen after 30 sec. and a checksumError too.
So I took all my oc down, tried again with ATiTrayTool and got a gray frozen screen again.
What can I do?
Is this issue board or graphic card related?
EDIT: If I turn up the voltage to 1.05v (thats default anyway) everything works out fine.
But why do I have to use a AtiTrayTool to get the second core up to the default frequency?
Can somebody suggest me what bios should I use with this mbo along with 920 cpu if I plan to run dominator gt at rated 2000 mhz speed ad oced 920 cpu? Thanks.
The very latest :D

Seriously, I always use and suggest the latest Beta BIOS
I know you do ;), I read several threads (here and there) that you participated and helped users to achieve their goal. It's very helpful for users that are new with this platform and wont maintain stability while OC-ing, and I appreciate that.
However I was unsure, since there are no new replies on this thread how well does last bioses perform on 45nm chips instead there are many users that have great results with their new 32nm Gulfts.:)
I was using F6a, TEST 1, and F7c on a 965 C0 and they worked fine too!
I haven't seen any issues at all with any of the last several rounds of beta's, so I think you will be fine with the latest!

Mr Stasio - what is special JZ bios?
JZ Electronic Germany,as Lsdmeasap noted in the post #1412,more info here:
http://www.jzelectronic.de/jz2/board...ze=1&suchwort=
Also, Mr. Stasio - instead of @bios what do you reco is best updating tool for updating bios on the ud7?
Q-Flash (make 20-30MB FAT32 partition on your hard drive) or Bootable USB Flash Drive.
