Too bad GPU-z v0.3.4 DOESN'T recognize the 58xx series cards yet, because W1zzard didn't update its DB ( hint ) :)

Anyone got that new Ruby´s phonenumber?
HD 5870 in 1280x1024! pfff what's the point??
that cpu score dont matches up for me :p:.
it seems like forever and the cards are still not out... this launch sucks :yawn2:
+1.
5870 is a great card, but this is ridiculous... And now rumors about not being able to buy one until first week of October... sheesh.
They should have put the damn things for sale at back computex.... could have moved 10 million units in the last 3 months...
that's one of the most aesthetic rigs i've ever seen. the green mainboard pcb kinda destroys the polished looking design of the rest though. should have been a black one! ;)
sadasius' setup looks very s(l)ick as well
I would like to see benchmark results using NFS: Shift at 1920x1200, 4xAA, max :D.
Besides, a demo is out for it.
They're not rumors in my place at least, a couple of retail stores confirmed a 2nd week of Oct. release, 13th to be exact.
That was the official release date mentioned, not some pre-release items due to destro. connections.
It might be different in your place, still, many said its at 09-22/23. I'll just leave it to 22/23 for me to know.
Sept. 22/23 or Oct. 13 are the same date for me, since I won't buy a DX11 card until Q1 2010.
*BTW, my sig. is 4 days old.:D
Hhahah! good points, labs23 and nice sig. Looks like you're waiting for the nvidia dx11 cards, or low-end ati 5000 cards.
I sure hope they don't delay store purchases until oct 13th. that is just insane. Too bad it isn't friday the 13th of october :)
Or waiting for games worth upgrading for. ;) What's the point in boosting up your FPS in games that run fine (except for Crysis) on your current hardware while you can save money by just waiting for price reduction.
I will be getting another 4870 or 4870X2 cheap to put in Crossfire (Tri-Fire ftw!) while waiting for new games, worth buying, to come out. :)
@3DMark score: My 8 months old card (295) posts 22924 GPU score in the same test, that's almost a 50% difference in performance and given that in higher resolutions SLI scales better I would expect that difference to widen (in higher res). Having said that I believe with proper drivers and a healthy overclock -5870- to reach the 20000 mark, still my card would be 20%-30% faster. Not too shabby for a previous gen card...
Having said that, synthetics do not tell much, I'm looking forward to see how the new ATI cards perform on real world gaming, I would hope that it would trump any previous gen card (like it should)...
