I don't think anyone was ignoring you NF. There just aren't that many 9450 owners out there with this mobo. My Maximus is a Rampage conversion. Bios 403 was a disaster for me. 219 works better on the conversion and my Rampage Formula. IMHO clocks with a 9450 @ 3.6 and below are hardly XS worthy. I want my chips to last at least a year. Probably not. Post your bios settings. :) Don't be afraid to run up to 1.40 on vcore and fsbt. The jury is out on whether anything over 1.40 vcore has adverse affects on 45nms. Some say the vcore limit is 1.45. Over 1.40 fsbt seems to be a proven chip killer based on my reading.Quote:

By the way I had voltages on auto in bios, realy everything was set to auto exept for multiplier and FSB (9 X 400)
Just read an article and it stated that SP3 for Xp contains this fix. Thats why I got better results today I installed SP3 yesterday.

My first impression: The chip is very sensitive to ALL voltages, it'll fail to boot into windows if I merely upped vcore alone to get prime stable. You have to adjust all settings at once. Still learning a few things.
We don't see the option of CPU VTT for tweaking in the Asus bios unlike other manufactures such as DFI for example. I think FSB VTT in the most recent Asus Maximus and Rampage bios is referring to the same as CPU VTT, if I'm not mistaken here. I believe Asus' FSB VTT tweak option behaves the same or in a similar manner as CPU VTT.Quote:

I would like to also mention that I feel safe running higher voltages because of the cooling I have. My water system can remove a large amount of heat due to the CFM of my fans and those Bonnie cores dump heat like crazy when a lot of CFM is pumped through them. After all, that's what they were designed for. I can maintain what I feel are safe temps with the fans at half speed and crank the fans up for hot weather or hard benching. Unless you're prepared to spend the money for over the top type cooling, I DO NOT suggest you push the voltage envelope as I have, it's just not a good idea. I have gotten a few "Are you nuts?" PM's from both here and at my home forum. Short answer: Yes I am. I have deep pockets and like performance. If it takes a little voltage to get there, then so be it. I just don't want people popping their $200+ dollar CPUs on my suggestions.

Which quad? 45nm or 65nm? I've 65nm quad and I find the newest MF or RF beta bios to share the same stability. I can say either bios are the best ones I've tested up to date in terms of stability. RF bios has finer tuning options so it will get you a slightly faster system under benchmarks but not so much that you can actually "feel" it. You can tell the scores are better than MF bios becouse MF bios doesn't have the finer tuning options to make the board to run near its max OC potential. The finer tuning options offered in the RF bios will need you to take lots of patience to gain any additional system bandwidth, latency over MF bios. Have a read of my previous post above where I've included a link as a must read for overclocking X38/X48/P45 chipset mobos.Quote:

After that, I had run to the shop and bought Seasonic M12-700 power supply. I set it up in hope that the problem will be fixed...but...useless...........

Might be an incompatability between mobo/soundcard combo and the 8800GT you have... a friend of mine did also have weird sound probs and swapping the vidcard helped him ( same type though )

Running a few tests, I noticed one thing that has improved over my 4GB config.
Everest Memory Copy was reporting 7,831 MB/s with my 4GB of RAM. It was usually a consistant number that didn't vary much on my system.
Everest Memory Copy is now reporting 8,030 MB/s with my 8GB of RAM. I never was able to hit that number before...

Anybody know how to disable Speed Step? I have Intel Speed Step disabled in Bios but I think there is some other setting that I also need to change.
Can you guys run the Rampage with a Q6600@default and the mem's@1066 with vNB@default ?

Well keep us posted, I couldn't get any feedback on mine so I will follow oyur questions and see where it goes. but as for my experience, it did oC too high on FSB. 450 was a challange and if on a divider, the voltages needed to keep it stable were usually higher then I am used to w/ even a Q6600. Although in some multi app cases, it really does shine and w/ little heat.Quote:

Sorry, I didn't really catch wether or not he (angel_dustis) was overclocking or not. If YES, simply move FSB to anything over stock and EIST is disabled right off the bat no matter what ratio or previous EIST (Speed Step) setting.

4x1GB will tax the NB harder you will need 1.55 volts or more. Get trfc off auto ( row refresh cycle time) set it to 55 or higher, I would start with 55 and adjust higher till the ram is stable. And I really doubt you will get it stable at 4-4-4-12, 5-5-5-15 would be more realalistic.
Well I cant run my ram faster then 1000 mhz on whatever setting so 5-5-5-10 feels so slow:(
4x1GB should run at 1081 5-5-5-15-3-55-6-3 rather nicely.

I grabbed me a Q9300 M1 SLAWE the other day and retired my E6600 B2.
I am a lil disappointed so far, since I am stuck at FSB 440 (3.3 GHz). However I am not aiming at mad overclocks so much, I can live with 4x3.3 GHz. Still, I wonder if I overlooked something that could help me getting up higher.
FSB 445 leds to rather quick system crashes and 450 doesn't boot anymore, tho it posts and I get to see the BIOS. My chip seems to need 1.3375V to be stable...so I gave it an extra notch

system is rock solid since the last couple of months. Might need a small 40mm fan for the northbrige : 53C high load hot days.. 48-50c in winter. Funny thing : C1E support still works .. so im running at 2700Mhz at idle and 4050 Mhz high load
