Greetings!
My P5K Premium also went broke a month ago.
Corsair Dominator 4 x 2GB works like a charm. WIN 7 64 bit.
Hi guys,
Does anybody use SSD drive on this motherboard? I would like to buy Intel's G2 or G3 SSD and I'm wondering if everything will be ok. Now I have SATA2 hdd and I had to change interface to SATA1 because of known P5K Premium SATA2 issue... But there is no option to change interface in SSD drives :/
Well, I gave it a try last week with a X25 Gen. 2, 80GB drive. WIN7 installation took me over an hour, and the drive was slow - 130MB/s read and 70MB/s write.
Tried a lot of different SATA drivers, with no lucky.
If you manage to get it to work - please let us know!
Regards.

What Sata connector have you got it on - the jmicron is slower. Have you set it to AHCI mode?
I'm using one of the regular SATA ports (don't recall which). Have the Jmicron controller disabled in bios.
Win7 64 was installed and running in AHCI mode.
I googled "slow SSD and P5K" - seems like more ppl than me having problems with this combo.
Also tried the 1101 "option ROM" bios (modded bios) with the same result.
(1101 works fine for my OC, but not any major improvement over 0702).
Regards.
Anyone else still got this MB - I am still running it with the q6600 - I keep thinking of upgrading o a sandybridge i5 2500k and all the associated kit but still find that this old setup still runs all the games I can get perfectly okay with the occassional GPU upgrade - another one immenent to a 560 or 6970. I think I will just keep it till it dies - anyway it keeps my room warm in the winter with the heat it chucks out-lol!
At the moment your videocard is the most limiting factor here, game performance won't be that much better FPS wise with the same hardware on SB...(ofcourse windows and co is more responsive) I would hold off till the new technolgies are on the market...
Yes my thinking too - i dont really need W7 and my apps to be any more responsive than they are - am not into video rendering and even then the q6600 still does adaquate when I need it. I do like the fun of overclocking new rigs but cant see the point of a total hardware change and all the associate expense just yet as there isnt any real reason to do it. So will buy a better GPU to get some better FPS and detail on the games and stick with this relatively slow old setup till it cooks itself -lol!
I've bought new Kingston SSDNow HyperX 3K-SH103S3/120G and I've got this results on Sata II. New firmware is 5.0.3. Bios is 1101.
