That case is HUGE weston! Looks ripe for a dremel and some foam!
Followed the suggestion in this thread and came up w/ this:

2 things I learned here. First and most importantly, ghetto mods are king. I dropped 20C load with a very minor increase in noise and no added cost (fan was lying around). Secondly, pcie sound cards are so full of win. Just look at that little guy all tucked up and away from anything important. He wants nothing to do w/ the restriction of his buddy's airflow.
I've also added this sticker from a frying pan I picked up @ Wal-Mart.

I can only imagine the chics I'm going to get @ the next LAN party because of it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/6ba5b25b.gif
Pretty nice mod, wish i could do that on my GTX285 w/o losing warranty as the local distro for Palit brand has placed their own self destruct sticker on one of the screws near the PCIe power.
Woot air cooling!

Guys has anyone seen pictures of mugen2 or TRUE black on a Gigabyte X58-UD3R in this forum or in the net? trying hard to find one but cant
oh great thanks alot mate , just wanna see the clearance between the HS and the first memory module , btw you dont have to put it together just for me just put it over the socket and see if its sufficient for a 120mm :)
Here is some pics of my current rig, excuse my poor photography skills...

Cable management could be better, but I will be ripping it all apart again real soon to have the roof modded to take a 120.3 rad, the internals will be powder coated in red, and I am having some holes cut in the mobo tray for cable management..
I don't know why Silverstone didn't make holes in the tray to begin with???
You guys like lapped and polished heatsink bases, right?
I thought you might like this pic of my lapped TRUE:
http://www.alice-dsl.net/ingmar.kris...21XX_plan2.jpg
;)
Its base was horrible before lapping. It was convex in the middle and even a little concave in the area near the edges. An absolute pain to lap that thing! But now, it looks like it should.
The edges are a bit rounded, but that's the normal "problem" with hand lapping. It's very hard to avoid it. And before someone says anything on the matter: I know that polishing doesn't really help performance wise, but I'm selling the heatsink right now(not here, but on the Hwluxx forums). And it definitely helps with that. :)
As I already posted, for normal operation the polishing does absolutely nothing in most cases. One could call it a waste of time. Just lap the bases flat with max. 600-800 grit wet/dry sandpaper and some water and soap. The most important thing is to use a really flat surface to lap on. Flat is much more imortant than shiny.
BUT, the polished finish looks nice. That's why I did it, now that I want to sell the heatsink.
Edit:
The steps that lead to the finish shown above:
1.)
http://www.alice-dsl.net/ingmar.kris...UE_lapping.jpg
Number one was realizing how bad the base of my TRUE really was.
2.)
http://www.alice-dsl.net/ingmar.kris..._21XX_plan.jpg
It really took some time to get to that. It was perfectly flat, but not shiny at all.
3.)
The final step to get to the finish like in my pic above.
I used good 1000 grit sandpaper and a lot of soap and some water and lapped the base for about 5 minutes. Be careful not to produce new scratches once you've reached a good finish! It should be shiny now, but most likely with some scratches left. At that point, the good old NevrDull came into play. Polished the base with that for ~10 minutes. Then let it dry for a minute and finally polished it using just regular tissues. That's it. Afterwards I cleaned the whole heatsink using dish washing liquid ("Pril Kraftgel"; that stuff really gets the oily polish residues off) and water. Then I dryed it with the hair dryer on full heat and power and let it cool down for some time. At that point it was finally done.
Looks just like mine did 2 yrs ago. $70 for an uneven base and a loose fit. Not only did I have to lap the crap out of mine too, but it needed the velcro on top to stay put. :(
Finally i found the way in this forum.

hehe Andrea deluxe same fans as you...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2521/...ec0813f5_b.jpg
Hey Andrea, thats an awesome setup. Am planning to get the same case from lancool. How good are the fans?? And how good is the case to use. Do u think I need to budget a little extra to get better fans??
fan in the box are:
3* 14cm 1000rpm
1* 12cm 1500rpm
dual ball bearing!
i have replaced the 1500rpm fan with a 1000rpm led fan from lian li.
for the cpu i have used the same fan in push pull....
but in not the best..... maybe in future i replace the 1000rpm 12cm fan with a 1500rpm...... or all the set of another brand...
but now my pc is REAL silent!
it's a V2000B by Lian Li. There is also the Tagan Black Pearl which is about the same with a few minor differences in appearance.
I got it used actually. I couldn't find one anywhere, but I saw one for sale at the guru3d fs thread.
Yeah actually. The front was originally solid with plastic bay covers. The case had absolutely no front airflow, so I stuck a 120mm fan in and picked up some perf sheet metal at Home Depot and cut it out to fit the hole.
Printed and cut out a GoW logo, masked the front and sprayed it. Turns out pretty nice with the lights! :D

not close to being done but here it is so far. The internals are well a secret for now lol its been blacked out inside tho and paxmated and foamed up. Case runs silent and holds a 3.4GHz OC on a Q6600 at 60C Coretemp :D Its a wind tunnel in there lol 8 120mm fans 1 80mm lol

They are camera phone pics also.....soz if they are crap (they are ok compared to some i have taken)
I keep the fan/card holder there as its a perfect mount for the fan that keeps my ram cool (they get very hot....Micron D9GMH chips - i dont want them to die - they do 1300mhz +)
I got some aluminium from school and bent it into a shape needed....then screwed it in with meccano (love this stuff !!)
Last pic i have labeled the notable mods/features:
Meccano screws :D
Slot i made for the Sata Cables
Hole under that for the front panel stuff
Cut a part of the ledge for the sata cables to go through
Cut another part of the ledge to allow the other front panel stuff to get through and the power for the dvd drive.
Also - you can see the PCI-E power cable that i have going completely under the motherboard.....:D
What more shall/can i do?
Im planning on putting another PSU in there later(cheaper than getting another larger PSU) as i have one of these:
http://www.frozencpu.com/images/prod...in/cpa-167.jpg
So its cabling and the adapter will be behind the aluminium also....
What else can i do?
When i have heaps of time (after November - end of school - forever :D) i will put some blow holes at the top for my heatsink ti vent into - for now i have taken out the 2 water cooling holes to have some hot air escape via them
Well... Air cooling for the moment

God damn thats a lot of white fans? Sharkoon 1000?
im lovin the case man, nice black and white combo! what fans are those?
P80B so that means its black from factory ?
Dude what speaker is that?
Im pretty sure that they are the Sharkoon Silent Eagle GolfBall, probably the 1000RPM model here: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=20897
Yes.. I'm using Sharkoon Silent Eagle Golf Ball 1000 rpm. :)
Yup, black anodized. But for the inside, i'm using black satin powdercoat. :D
It's Edifier S550D 5.1
Ok i thought it comes out as all black from factory since i also have a P80
I've finally got.............a CASE :D:D:D:D:D:D

^^^ something about those small form builds drives me nuts. Fantastic
Love that small build. I've got 2 LAN parties in just over a month and that would come in SUPER handy. Dragging my Stacker around kinda sucks. :D
to emoners
I spy 2 Lamptron switches and... FC-2 fan controller? with side knobs removed?
Is that the new tuniq?
Yeah that looks like the Tuniq 2 but I also noticed that there is a similarity in design to the Alpenfohn Nordwand with this. The underside seems to have a wiere copper chip thing just below the heatsink.
thanks Chicken Patty & Jodiuh! :D
actually, it's a Scythe Kaze Q 3.5" Fan Controller with the housing removed :D

Very nice
If you want your Noctua S12 (exhaust) to be fully eficient cut down the grill behind it. You lose a lot of airflow atm because that fan is not designed to have any static pressure, so any small grill behind it will decrease most of it's airflow.
I ran into the same thing on my plain case. It had a lot of restriction so I cut out the fan hole and put in a less restrictive plate that come with the fans anyway. It blows twice as much air now than it did and the fans are turned down and MUCH quieter.
It helps with both air flow and noise.
