Strange , i also got a raptor and XFI and no problems here , F3,F4 gives me max 355 fsb , F5 , F6 410 fsb.

I'm at 451 FSB. 410 won't cut it with an E6300.Quote:

try different dividers even if your cpu is running 1ghz it dont matter.
nothing i do will allow my HZ's to run over 950mhz stable not even 5-5-5-15
98% of the time my system wont even boot with 950+ 5-5-5
let me know what you find out... i may switch back to F3 and see what happens.
for now though i have updated my sig with my new 24/7 clocks...
422x9 1.52v(bios) windows is reporting 1.48v.. and 1.43 or less w/ droop.
ive mentioned before but ill mention it again.. with the DS3 and most boards.. the lower the voltage the less droop the higher the voltage the more droop.
i can run my cpu at stock 2.4ghz @ 0.975v with zero droop. but start raising the voltage and droop increases but this is normal as the PWM cant handle the load of the higher voltages.
this is when a DQ6 would come in handy,
So i've given up on the DQ6 until the bios matures more. I have all bios settings set to Auto and i enabled the Intel QST option, now both my fans are being controlled by bios and running slower.
Interesting...under PC health with Intel QST enabled the temps for GMCH and ICH are displayed. Wish don't appear if you disable Intel QST.
What's even more strange is that my VDIMM voltage is set to "Normal" which should mean it's 1.8V...right?
Yet my G.SKILL HZ 2GB kit is booting and working, at 1.8V?....what the hell?
Don't forget to download the driver to enable QST:
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...ional&lang=eng
rich the gskill hz's always boot fine at 1.8v..
if your done messing with the DQ6 for now send it to me let me break it in for you properly. i'll make her WANT to overclock.
time to ditch that cpu rich and get a week 28 or newer
I've decided to buy an E6700, i'm seeing can i get a sweet deal on one somewhere, where can you get an OEM chip?
Hey guys...let's keep this thread alive!
I had an offer on a X6800, new-retail, €650...should i go for it?
It's your money.Quote:

max out the ram then kick up the cpu multi if it can handle it.
but i wouldnt buy it from anyone other than someone with alot of heat and who is a trusted source.
and ask for the week and the stepping of it also. you dont want to end up with the same week and stepping you already have.
I agree with lestat, but also I don't think its worth it unless you increase your cooling...
increased cooling doesnt make any difference just cuz its a 6800
its still the same voltage to run it.. its a matter of how much voltage for stock.
but you are correct for high clocks 24/7 air just dont cut it.
maybe get a 6600 and spend the rest on some nice water cooling.???
new Koolance Exos gear got some high marks.. Zalman also has the Resarator 2 out...
I've always gone under the assumption that you shouldn't bother with the X6800/FX/EE chips unless you're a benchmarking fanatic and want to use phase, etc.Quote:

Come on Gigabyte, this one has to be special...
With al the biosses ( f3,f4,f5,f6 ) my pc wont boot if I set vcore more then 1.58v , oh and why jumps Gigabyte from 1.6v directly to 1.8v vcore ? why cant we select 1.625/1.650 enz... ?
Need new BIOS !!
if you need more Cranox then hats off to you bud,, if you got the balls to do more.. then seriously.. wow.
but look around fellas,, look at some reports from people who have done 1.6 and higher and their chips are dieing.
personally.. and this is just me if you need 1.6v to get this chip anywhere then your just gunna kill the chip. i know i see people doing it but the heat generated by these chips at that voltage is just insane. and i personally dont recommend people do it.
if you need that much then your hitting the wall in the cpu where your treading on dangerous ground... i wouldnt be doing it. the cpu cant go any further for a reason .. and smashing it with that many volts.. isnt the smartest thing to do.. unless of course your super cooling it.
and i to have the no booting thing above 1.58v but that doesnt bother me i have no intensions of going more than 1.55v
even with water she hits 70c at that voltage.
not to mention the heat and stress put on the pwm area.
the higher vcore the hotter the pwm area gets and even at 1.52v i have used a probe and also my Infrared Temp gun,, and i have seen the PWM get to some insane temps. alot hotter than you might think.
I'm still getting the occassional "Disk boot failure" with the latest BIOS (F6 final). It's so random that I have no idea how to root cause it. Usually a CTRL+ALT+DEL will get it to work again... I'm using the Gigabyte SATA connections on the mobo btw.
I can't believe some of these guys running 70C idle. I'm only @ 3300, but my load stays under 50C. IMO a 1.17G OC ain't a bad thing to live with. Especially when it can happen without any extra voltage.
Same here, quite content at 3.2 (8*400). Wouldn't mind 3.4-3.6 as long as I don't start getting constant reboots and the like again. But I admit I am fearful at the moment after finally getting this board back from rma :para:
I have a gigabyte DQ6 and E6400, update to f5 bios but, in windows cpuz 1.36 show F2...
When the computer boot, show f5... but in windows only show f2
Any tips?
I cannot exceed fsb 400>:(
DQ6/F5 - CPU-z 1.36/Everest build 715 and < - BIOS F5 reported in both!Quote:
