personally, I don't feel it got any better than 1.36;)
what sort of temps people getting here? I'm getting 37 - 43C in windows, not really doing anything atm using 3000winchester @ stock. And a XP-90 cooler w/ 92mm fan. 5000rpm one (stock zalman w/ the zalman bracket fan, put on top)
I find the temps a bit high, im using 1.36beta bios.
The cooler itself however is particually cool, I even stopped the fan and felt the cooler for a minute. Odd.
Much the same as you temp wise.
I ignored that ages ago.
I read over on OCUK, where someone put a diode under his water block on the chip, and that read approx 10 degrees lower than the 40 odd he had.
I get idel temps of 38C according to BIOS.well today my temp probes arrived.ive got one under the socket and one between the maze4 and cpu and both are reading 28-29C idle so that near enough 10C less than BIOS.
guys, where do i get the latest beta-BIOS for the Neo2? :)

1.37 ? Does that change anything.
btw doesnt the neo2 have hardware firewall built into it like the dfi ut 250gb?
didn't all nF3 250/Gb/Ultra have HW-FW onboard?
if so, where do I find/activate it?
good question....
On the DFI, it becomes available when you activate the on-board LAN function. Then when you install the nForce drivers it will ask you if you want to activate the firewall and give you an HTML interface on your desktop allowing you to configure the settings. I'm sure the MSI is the same ?
I don't know, I don't think I've activated the lan, yeah I installed the realtek drivers for it, but I guess you mean setting up a new network using windows?
I never installed the nvidia ide sw when I installed the nforce drivers, but I installed the rest.
My board is meant to have it, my drivers don't seem to have initialised it.
I dont need the d-bracket for this do I? Cause I never recieved one as I bought my msi board OEM. ;(
Enable the Nvidia MAC in the bios , when you get into windows look for the Nvidia folder (default normally c:\Nvidia) navigate to this folder \nForceWin2KXP\5.10\Ethernet\NAM and run setup.
That will install NAM (network access manager) which will allow you to enable/edit the firewall.
sorry to sound noob, but where abouts in the bios will the nvidia MAC be?Quote:

Any sort of nforce driver remover so I can use the 5.10?
Nvidia MAC option is in intagrated peripherals under PCI devices? i think.
You should be able to just install the new 5.10's over the old ones without issue, atleast i never had a prob doing it before.
yeah it was on [Auto] in bios,
installed 5.10s, firewall is there now. Set on medium, is this OK?
Yeah your right.Quote:

i noticed that a lot of you may or may not have this bios. i also received this bios update from msi due to a problem i'm having with my corsair memory.
one question: i'll receive my Neo2 + 3200 WC tomorrow....i think it does, but i want to ask some of you guys, who have the config Neo2 + 90nm already:
does the Neo2 recognize/accept a 90nm-CPU....i mean with the Stock-BIOS on it....because, i don't have any other S939-CPUs here....and it would just be a anoing problem....
 :DQuote:

If your MB comes with bios v1.1, initially there is an issue with dual channel memory support. My system didn't want to post with 2 memory sticks installed. One can avoid this problem by using initially just one stick. After bios flash you can add your second memory stick.
Bios versions 1.2 and later, support winchesters fully AFAIK. Perhaps boards which are now in retail channel have latest bios version. Who kows, you can get lucky .
Seen a few users on that forum do the same.
Such as here..
I didn 't know about the issues with the Winchester chip and the Mobo when I re-built my system. I sure found out quick. The first thing that I found out was that it didn't like my dual channel mem. I could only get the board to boot with my two sticks if I just loaded the green slots.
There seems workrounds for all socket 939 boards and winchesters except the ABIT. The ABIT needs a BIOS update to boot.
Also not sure on Gigabyte. (or haven't read it yet)
I can't guarantee what BIOS your mobo will ship with tho.
OT: split whose that in your avatar?
I have no idea, but it's not me :DQuote:
