we already know Crysis 2 has full DX11 support, and this is DX9. from this i think we can all say, based on how good DX9 looks for consoles, that the PC full version will be something else
My pics were taken with max settings you can see missing textures the game is not trendering everything like it should when the final comes out it will look better for now we have a leaked beta as a beta not everything is final...
As for the pirate issue I am sure there are plenty of laws the people complaining about people downloading this break. Honestly I don't see the point in people complaining I don't care they don't care no one cares. If someone is going to pirate your comment is going to just make it stop get over yourself and just move one. If you want pirating to stop go complain for more rights management I mean it just makes life a pita when I actually buy this game and I'm cure it'll be hacked anyway buut your complaints make my life more secure :up:
And drugs are still drugs alcohol is still alcohol no one cares buddy if you don't like seeing pirated games why not check out another thread?
well, i think that if cryengine 3 is better optimized than cryengine 2 as they say, then crysis 2 is not going to be "hardware hungry" like the first one.
for me, a standard system with 1Gb vram and a pretty decent sli setup (gtx 560 or better) will handle crysis 2 without big problems @ 1080p enthusiast settings (or hardcore as we see in these videos)
heres a quik cfg you could try,
and a quik update, multiplayer seems to be working now, local PC servers are working, and also a few dedicated servers, although how to dedicate one just now seems to be hush hush,Quote:
To disable the "Display Info" stuff in the top right corner:
1) Open system.cfg in a text editor.
2) Change "r_displayInfo=1" to "r_displayInfo=0".
To enable some higher display settings:
1) Open system.cfg in a text editor.
2) Add the following:
con_restricted=0
r_width=1680
r_height=1050
sys_spec_full=4
q_quality=3
3) Where "1680" put your desired horizontal resolution, where "1050" put your desired vertical resolution.
Save files and such are located at "C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\Crysis2".
although posting how to, i think would be against the forum rules.
are you kidding? i've recently played warhead again as well, to test my gtx570 (it runs butter smooth btw) and it definately DOES NOT look better than what can be seen in this video:

imo, the graphics in this vid are great. there's so much detail in the world.
But its nothing like the first game... free roaming -> nope think again. They try to balance this with "tacticl options", but its often just a sniper spot that is 80-100m further away, or some resupplies 80m away. In the end, its a corridor shoter...
Stealth is still OP against human AIs, and now with suite modifications you even can shot more often with a silencer while staying cloaked or stealthkill everything.
The aleins are annyoing cause they are thought, because of there armor, but at least you can fry them (literally... :D)
omfg... 20 minutes of play time and used armor mode only 4 times and cloak once... wth O_o
flickers like hell on crossfire, still good speed using a single card, the final proper version coupled with new amd drivers can only make it better, can't wait :)
Good news for my Quad Core and GTX 470 @ 480 speeds.
ordered a 5850 for only 150 bucks :up: at 1680*1050 it should be plenty of oomph, especially at 900-1000mhz
Watched the first 25 minutes of gameplay. Now I'm excited about this game. If it plays as good as it looks, this is going to be an amazing game. :D
I'm really starting to believe that Crytek did this on purpose to build hype. There are videos of Crysis 2 gameplay all over the internet. If they were worried about it, they would be scrambling to get all of those videos taken down. From what I can tell, they're not doing anything to stop it. They simply put up the face of attacking pirates as a shield to make people think this was a freak accident. If this was an accident, they would be serving "cease and desist" orders left and right.
Heh. Xbox 360 gets a multiplayer demo. PC gets a fragmented version of the game. Guess the joke's on us, huh? :p:
For those that did DL it, does it have prone?
I do not even consider to dl it after all those positive feedbacks around Internet, not even I watched any video on youtube. Gonna buy it in March! Im kinda curious of 580GTX performance in there but I think DX9 is not a good benchmark for this.
I agree. I've yet to play it but have watched videos etc...
I think that if the DX9 version looks this good.... then i can't wait to see what it'll look like with DX11. The lighting already looks incredible.... plus there should be so much more available with the engine on DX11.
Well worth waiting for IMO.
I've yet to pre-order, but I'm going to grab a copy once it comes out. Hopefully EA doesn't gouge because of this "leak"
game uses %60 of my oc'd q9650 at hardcore settings

also physics effects are better than most crysis mods which my cpu struggles to handle
Exaggerated? Really?
At this very moment on a certain site which i will not name are over 1600 seeders and 7500 leechers downloading the game. To sum it up, at a cost of $59.99, you're looking at roughly $500,000usd. Now imagine how many times a day those people finish downloading and new people begin their download.
Easily "millions".
Totaly fluid on advance with my oooold 8800gt, definitly buying this, dumbed down it is, but good for quick fun.
If this leak does change sale numbers, then it will change them only in positive way. Looking how much free advertasment game got because of this "leak" then theres no other option.
I think, that wasnt even a leak, but done on purpose.
Remember Iphone4 leaks? :ROTF: where half in order phone was "forgotten" on the bar table...
Thats a same kind leak here. Not full working product is leaked to get attention to the game and in the end it will increase sale numbers... A lot!
Game itself is great. Now waiting for bugs-free official release. :up:
In my honest opinion after watching a few vids I think the sound effects and gameplay is a step forward in the Crysis series. Weapon fire sounds quite decent especially with the reverb indoors and the environment has quite a lot depth to it, as in lots of background noise, special effects and small details and such. It's good to see it will run good enough on today's computers and a bit more focus is put on gameplay this time around, thanks for this Crytek.
ye, i seriously had to laugh at that guy. he even posts a link to a screenshot he made:
http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/8...60cpuusage.png
crysis 2 obviously used more than 14% on that rig before he minimized it and took the screen :rofl:
it still looks pretty gpu limited though. seems like cryengine 3 scales as bad on cpus as cryengine 2.
