anyone who thinks they know the answer is guessing. with fusion around the corner, this is needed, but did they not take care of this soon enough. if they did it back in the 4800 days, then the 5800s would have gotten them craploads of attention/respect for the amd brand.
and keep in mind that what the media knows, is not what the truth is. as a platform, amd needs to be pushing their image as hard as possible. if AMD is winning the gpu fight, then maybe people will think they are winning the cpu fight too, just cause the platform as a whole is better for gaming than the competitions.
