May 10th I think.

This proves that AMDs serverchipsets got clocking potential.... with the right motherboard and software even XtremeSystems will be able to enjoy AMDs new toys!
As someone said before :banana::banana::banana: gainsy go go go Magny-Cours!
I'm so looking foward of getting one :slobber:
Mc to xs wcg crunchers giveout :wasntme:?
If a company releases a dual-socket system based on C32 or G34 (like the old unsupported Asus L1N64-SLI) I can see many people buying it with this kind of overclocking.
That he so easily overclocked he's Magny-Cours with some unsupporting software is nothing short of amazing, really proves that this new chipset is something.
Hell even I would get a dual-socket system with 2 x 6 or 2 x 12 cores to toy with and do folding  :ROTF:
AMD Skulltrail anyone?:D
Thank you s7e9h3n and justapost!
Excellent results! 3GHz 12-core CPU is beyond awesome!
I wonder what was TDP for it at that speed :p:
Cores alone are scaling with voltage and clock a tad better than Phenoms II which means some improvement in silicon. I hope this will be translated to Rev-C3 on the desktop side as well ...
^^^ +1.... :D
This thread is incredible.. I'm an old timer and I never really doubted AMD's ability to come back, this just solidifies my faith, and it's even done at 45nm. :yepp:
Thanks for all the info s7e9h3n, I'm sure we'll all be waiting for your return from vacation... :p:
No chance of any type of ETA for this is there?
I want to get saving for it, Ive already got the second cpu block to add to my loop and all.
Please run 3D mark 06-s CPU test @ 3,2GHz! :P Or Vantage CPU test.
trying bench 3ghz at vcore 1,1v? very impressive
Very interesting, any 4Ghz overclocks That is something I like to see.
12 core = 12 threads FTW
lol, this is ace, its like Quad core is just history now, I would like a 6-12 core CPU but idk the prices? It would be nice to switch back to AMD, and they normally have the best bang/buck ratio on their products IMO.
screw CB... give us results for Frybench: http://randomcontrol.com/index.php?o...=140&benchid=1
Wow Stephen,
this is incredible
Was looking forward to a Dual Gulftown, but now I may just get the AMD instead (or on top, I am a cruncher after all :D )
Hey, how about a trade? I'll give you my Quad Socket AMD and you give me that Dualie.. 4 CPus for 2, I think that's a fair deal :D :wasntme:
If you by any chance could run a BOINC benchmark/some WCG WUs that would be awesome (so I can spend sleepless nights on calculating the PPD per machine :p: )
I'm Speechless
lol, somebody just came back from the future with a CPU and is teasing us all.
Seeing that many cores that can run at that speed already is one heck of a good sign.
This is just the holy thread of core ownage. Too much awesomeness in 5 pages.
What mobo you using? So this thing isn't going to be AM3 is it? I miss when AMD had Opterons you could drop in your 939. They cost more yeah but they were solid and fancy stuff.
lol, someone hasn't read the last 5 pages...
The motherboard is a socket G34 board, using a new ES chipset and ES CPUs. These 12 core processors are not going to be available on anything but the new sockets coming out early next year, May 10th I think. This first version of the 12-cores are 2 Istanbul CPUs glued together. The new chipset finally has some of the fun new features available on it compared to the super old Nvidia 3600 chipsets out today for servers. Things such as the changed PLL stuff to allow good overclocking, IO virtualization, HT3 support, and probably GPU virtualization as well that was just demonstrated by AMD.
Thank you s7e9h3n!!!! Awesome info and awesome results! I've never lost faith in AMD and never will. Your thread just proves that faith is not placed wrong. Not one bit :yepp:
Time to start saving cash for one of those beasts. What is one kidney worth these days? Cause i'd give one for one of those rigs :D
Have a safe trip to Europe mate and return fast so we can see more of this "holy grail" from AMD. :)
would like to see consumer market with dual G34 board for PC
Very good read indeed. I wonder what intel is now thinking about their next released cpu now. Always a welcome to see amd stepping back into the picture once again. As in the end we the consumers when then.
