If the Rampage is anything like the Maximus Formula (and we know it is), you may well have every need for the LCD poster ... the words "CPU INIT" & "DET DRAM" may become all too familiar. Sincerely hope you dont have this experience.

This is my first experience with an LCD poster.
So you are saying that these codes can occur anytime, even after booted into windoze or something?
I guess I need to google this later today. CPU Initialization and Detect Memory sound like things which would occur early, not post post.
Thanks.
It looks like the codes that can appear on the LCD are listed in the table in the order that they occur. Thus CPU init is first and boot into OS is last.
Of course I will use the LCD when I'm OC-ing but after my system is stable 24x7 then I'm not going to need it unless something changes.
So I'll leave it connected, of course, but when I go to put my computer in place for 24x7 operation I'll just coil and tie the cord and stuff it neatly behind the PC.

Can somebody post their bios settings for e8400? i'm trying to orthos stabilize mine at 4.22ghz.
One thing i love about this board is that the vcore does not fluctuate once load calibration is enabled. this is an excellent thing for ocing since my other boards fluctuated like crazy!
I found a forum on google that showed settings for e8400 using 8 or 9 multi on the maximus formula but there are some bios options that are missing....the boards are alomst the same but the rampage's northbridge is different.
Thanks!
Two of the members posting here have the e8400 and Rampage Formula in their specs. Why don't you try posting there or even PM-ing them?
Has anyone been able to run the trd=5 with 500FSB?
[QUOTE=safan[/QUOTE]
how the testing going with G.Skills you list yer testing them in yer signature
U like these 8GB of G.skill (4 x 2GB) DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ
on this mobo ?? OR anyone have a better suggestion ???
i've got them in my P5E (really run well at 5-5-5-15 ddr1002) & am gettting this(on order) MoBo = X48 Rampage Formula.. soo i want to get them for the X48 gonna get the Q9450 for the R/P X48 for now & then throw a QX in to the Rampage & the Q9450 will go into the P5E
I'm a n00b at all the O/C'in but can't wait to get my feet wet & O/C . the reason i got the P5E is i need a stable work platform & the X48 R/P will be the learning curve/play platform ..
see my signature for my sys
I have a P5E and a new Rampage Formula. I have the same RAM F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ 2 x 2G in each Board, same video card - EVGA 8800GT, the P5E has an e6850, the Rampage Formula and e8400 (both at 9 x 400) -- Memtest shows about 500 MB/sec greater throughput in the P5E with identical BIOS settings than in the X48 board. ODD!
Yeah , i thought soo the G.Skill are great
I'm thinking i need the higher DDR2 sets for this MoBo
being a test bunny can be expensive !!!
Welcome bigslappy! :welcome:
I'm pretty excited, too, about getting my build finished and OC-ed. I've been "building" this computer since early this year due mostly to the delay of the q9450 release and the fact that I can't work very fast with my hands. (disability) If it wasn't for the Intel delay I'd be home by now..
Stick around. I'm sure there'll be lots of benchmarks posted if not this thread then another one around here.
I also have the GSKILL DDR2-1000 2gb dimms at 5-5-5-15 but haven't even booted up with 'em yet.
I currently got my e8400 at 4.32ghz on air, prime stable. About time, couldn't do that on my MSI or my GA board.
Gonna do some gaming then benchmarks.
Very nice respectable 24/7 OC slugzkea, post your settings so other users can attempt to obtain the same OC.
I'm going to see how well it will overclock with 8gigs of ram compared to 2 gigs of ram when my new processor arrives sometime within the next week.
I'll also compare 2gigs(single stick) of G.Skill PC2-8500 to 2gigs (dual sticks)of Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 ver1.2
Hi guys, this is my rampage, what do you think about ?

I think you may have made me happy :)
Can you drop the multi more to see what this mobo can do max fsb, 570 is quite nice btw :D
n3vio post system specs please.
I finished tweaking my Bios so I post my results in this thread too.
That's the Rampage Bios 0308 Settings for a full OOCT stable Q9450 @ 3.8GHz (screenshot in Q9450 O/C Thread):
