I´m sure the prototype is changed since. Its also now an 8phase and not 10 phase.

I can't stand the layout of the P5K so really need this board to be released asap as the layout is perfect for what I want to do with it. With the new E6850 finally for purchase in Canada at very good prices I am anxious to get a new system overhaul. The 8800 Ultra is also going for less than the GTX at the moment which is very tempting.

I still think the hue and saturation have been played with on those photos. The back of the case and everything about the motherboard is off color. Somebody take it into photoshop and make it correct. Seriously, how do you guys not see it? EVERYTHING has a greenish tint.
The levels don't look altered enough to turn the slots from orange to green! I played around in cs2 for a while and it looks close to natural but still green slots...It's something dfi usually does on pre-production boards anyway!
bleh. they did away with serial/parallel. guess i'll have to buy a pci card for that.
as for the heatpipe, interesting approach routing it outside. i like that idea a lot, although it'd be more prone to damage.

I'm not sure how the external heatpipe will work with modern psus where there is no external fan blowing out, but instead just an open honey comb back panel where the air just kinda oozes out. No airflow there at all. Perhaps zip tying an 80mm fan to it sucking air away might work however.
doesn't help either when the psu is at the bottom of the case....
air doesn't just kinda ooze out. With just the honeycomb instead of a normal 80mm exhaust, there's going to be other fans. Usually, in the case of honeycomb rears, there's a large 120mm fan on the bottom side of the psu, drawing in air from the chassis, and thus out the honeycomb. airflow can be minimal, but it's still there. That said, having the heatsink out there can have another issue. With psu's that dump a lot of heat...

I've been rather annoyed lately seeing all the new top boards using heatpipes - Me having a BTX-style case (Lian Li v2000b). What I like about this new design is the fact that I can set the external sink on the SB, to take the bulk of the heat away from there, as it'll be at the top of the heatpipe assembly.
I hope this board makes it's way to this side of the world within a month or two.
I have a Silverstone TJ06 BTX Full Tower and I was also wondering about the heatpipe deal myself because of the inverted mobo on my current board heat and temps went up 10c being iverted vs in a regular case.
Well if your after dfi products, a good place to start, would be volunteering lots of your time to supports users in there forums, with informed answers and never insulting users.
After doing that for some time, on a regular basis, pretty much becoming your job, you may end up being contacted, asking if you would like to become a mod, after some time you may receive free product.
To be honest though, you will need to build lots of trust to receive before a product is released, this is not something any company takes lightly, no company want results leaked until the are ready.

yahh my dfi 680i board's digital pwm runs extremely hot and theres the same amount of vdroop as on every other board ive used. its really a horrible idea unless you have a huge ass heatsink to cool it which the board didnt come with and nor is one avaible to purchase.
DFI May have done it right but thus far what you say about digital PWM isn't true, it runs hotter, is less stable, is hard too cool, and easy to burn out. This holds true for abit's, dfi's, you name it... digital PWM so far is not for extreme clocking. not to mention it seems to only be avialable on expensive boards so i would assume that it adds cost without reason.
Like i said in an earlier post, one of the most stable PWM circuits out there (and coolest running) is on abit's AW9D, which happens to be a 4-phase analouge solution.
Everyone complaining about the heatpipe:
Heatpipes actually work, and most boards choose to use them. P35 seems to run cool enough to get some good clocks without after market coolers.
Could be worse, if it were a single heatsink for NB/SB/Mosfet then they could have used loops.
