1.2875v set in bios....damn cpu-z doesn't read right voltage, only booster or probe2 does, why?????
Hi guys!
I have one question and i think you could help me!
Do you think an x2 4800 ccbwe have coldbug?
I put it on a vapochill LS.
Thanks!
I can't do OC over 3GHz. I don't know why... 1,55 isn't enaugh... grr... but 2800 on 1,425 stable is good for me... I have freezer 64pro on 1400rpm.
Maybe you hit the roof, but I got to say, freezer 64 pro ain't excactly high end, mid end and tops, so you might want to try out the BigTyphoon with the 120mm fan on it ... that's high end air... I might stretch it to say the new stock cooler for Opties and x2's are also, you know the one that has got copper on it? :) But freezer? Nope. That may be where you are blocked.
Did some tweaking of my CPU and RAM. THis is what i end up with

i use 2x regular superpie since it seems to be the best way to test
it would freeze up when OCCT (OCCTPT1.1.0) reported no errors
Question: Why use prime95 instead of just using orthos (orthos_exe_20060420), the new sp2004 ?

Anyone seen this stepping before? lfcbf 0650upmw x2 3800 windsor
here is my old:
http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/3743/25ghz125ci6.jpg
and my new X2 4000 65nm
http://img368.imageshack.us/img368/543/unbenanntkx1.jpg
I have the LFCBF 0648XPKW, 3800x2 Windsor in my kids cabinet, but it's a real cheap mobo, so without any voltages to play with it's kinda limited how much I get out of it. Testing right now as we speak on 2280mhz orthos, but that's with a big fking fat divider, 266mhz divider or cpu/8 as seen fro cpu-z, so I'm actually underclocking the PC2-5400 RAM right now. I'll see how much I'll get out of the cpu and fine-tune it later. It came with the fking alu-brick sht! So I put the copper cooler that came with my Opteron 170 on it, since I'm using the BigTyp 120 VX myself. Had to put some fans on RAM aswell since they are stuck really close to the cooler.
EDIT: Didn't even get 2.4 GHz on stock volt, which is 1.25V, so I'm kinda disappointed, but I'm testing it on 2150 Mhz which gives me DDR716 4-4-4-12-15 1T on 2volts to RAM (volt to ram is the only volt choice I got on this fking MSI K9N NEO-F mobo, but only up to 2.2v). The faster RAM speed atleast gives the kid a quicker loading time for the games he's playing.
Hi guys! New to the forum.
I have a Brisbane 4800+ and an Asus M2N-E mobo and I have a hard time overclocking. I think the problem is that the bios only let me get the RAM voltage to 1.95:shrug: So if i try 3.0,2.9 or 2.8GHZ the systems freezes or fails in orthos:mad: What is a good combination with that RAM voltage with out compromising HT speeds.
Any advise is apreciated!
@freakBYnature: I've forced my x2 3800 up to 2550, but that's the absolute max (at safe volts) it's a rev f2, and they are known to oc poorly.. On the bright side I can run my ballistix and cruical value D9HNL at DDR2 832Mhz as of now.
considering a brisbane now...
http://img473.imageshack.us/my.php?i...2550mhzun4.png
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=209163
@savholic: your mobo sucks at oc'ing, if it is anything like the MN2-E SLI, the voltage options are just ridiculus, max vcore at 1,25..... You'll need some serious modding..
How much volt on vcore you think is safe? I would say 1.475 also is supersafe.. even 1.5 - on high end air cooling. I just ordered a zalman 9700LED from komplett to test out that one, the bigtyp 120 VX is good, but the mounting bracket don't push the copper base tight enough onto the cpu, so i actually believe I could've gotten atleast 5 celcius less if it was tight enough... the zalman is supposed to be better. Try another cooler and PUSH THOSE VOLTS  I don't believe 2550 mhz is the top... I resist to believe it :D
Don't get me wrong... I just have another idea of what safe volt is :)
My definition of safe voltages is about 1,6V on air.. Thats with the 9700LED.
I forced it up to 2625MHz for a validation once. That's with 1,5V on the NB and 1,6V on the SB.. Pretty sure I'm unlucky with this one.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=209981
Tried with much looser timings on my ram too, nothing helps.
Kinda irritating, can't test my new ballistix for max oc.
http://www.zaimc.com/temp/2.7.jpg
At the moment ... 270fsb x 10multi x 4 HTT @ 1.6v (over volt option on)
ram is on 270mhz (540mhz), 3-3-2-5 1T @ 3v
nice oc on the ram!
Yeah, you're really unlucky, but I believe I'm more unlucky... now the AM2 3800+ x2 windsor setup here has gone capoof on me... Can't boot the machine, and I honestly don't know if it's the CPU or the GPU that has gone insane! Just have to send them both on RMA to komplett. And I haven't clocked either! The MSI K9N Neo-F is such a rotten clocker that anything above stock is a waste of time.
hello welcome to XS!
I'm currently using the same mobo (brisbane 3600) and you have to mod the vdimm to get anything out of this mobo.

the Opteron 170 has two cores, so you should run prime95 twice .. otherwise its for your grandmum ;)

I invite you all to www.chilehardware.com a chilean overclocking and hardware website, pretty interesting with lots of reviews.
Bye
Cris
You should get an other Mainboard. I also owned the DFI Infinity and its not that good. My maximum was 3200Mhz with that board with 1.425V. I could even run prime95 for about one hour @ 3300Mhz with 1.350V with my new foxconn.
btw: the pics don't work.

It's quite ok ... :)
You have a key on your keyboard that reads "print scrn" or something similar... it will take a screenshot of all that is visible on-screen at the present time... use the key, and then paste in mspaint or some other software that handles images :) voila, you have a screenshot :)
here's a cpuz validation link of my work in progress ;) trying to hit max HTT on am2 without no stability issue ;)

my try on highest htt
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=241553
Tested the same thing here a couple of days ago..
412,7 HTT link
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=240940
Rock stable @HT link votlage 1,5v, nb-core 1,5v, sb pll 1,6v, and sb core 1,65v
The board booted at 450 HTT set in bios, but 412 HTT was max anyways, anything above that, and clockgen didn't work! I'll upload screenies of it later..
http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/4...t450ez1.th.jpg
Edit: Picture of 450htt, booted in at it, but the clock generator apparantly could not handle it...
Highest ht I've tested was at 1500MHz..
Anyone know how my 4000+ CAALG 0705TPAW should oc? has anyone with this stepping hit 3GHz?
I have a few programs that worked well for me they are #ClockGen# CrystalCPUID# these all work with the AMD AM2 processors the best one to use is CrystalCPUID e-mail me if you want any more
Systool is a very handy application also.

these are max stable for SPi and 3D Mark, also suicide shot is possible on 3200MHz+ but hardly is any important..
will try in a couple of days what this cpu can do with these new dominators and will put a Sempron 2800+ to see what's what..

i need a new board ^^
A friend of mine built a computer few days a go. Got chance to play with them :D
Processor : AMD Athlon 4000+ AM2 Brisbane
Mobo : Biostar TA690G
RAM : 2x1G KVR
VGA : Winfast 7300GT Extreme
Cooler : Thermaltake Mini Typhoon
Max suicide shot @ 1.5 V : 3381 MHz on TForce 6100 AM2 : http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=268534
Another Brisbane 4000+ AM2...
Batch is CAASG ....... (forgot the last part)
Max stable on stock VCore about 2.8 GHz.
3 GHz is stable with additional voltage.
Max clock @ 1.53 V with phase change : 3440 MHz.

One question i have is if i can boot into windows and run normal apps at 3.0Ghz (273x11) how do i make the computer stable at that number to run SP2004? i have went up to 1.55 volts but sooner or later it fails.
The answer may lie in the sub-timings of your RAM, Ultra-D is very sweet setting this with, I have one of my own :) Find out your optimal MAL, RP, DRIVE STRENGTH and DATA DRIVE STRENGTH. May be set somewhat weaker all of them, and may as a side-effect cause stability ;)
Try one at a time, drive strength and data drive strength is important. But also setting TREF is very important, rather then leaving it at auto. Let it say auto and find out what refresh rate it's at from everest or some other software that reads it. Then check out what each TREF in bios means, and set it at the correct microsecond (us) refresh rate. This is a difficult setting on DFI boards, but nonetheless very important for getting the stability a and performance you want.

max stable clock...

at 2670mhz it runs prime for 4 hours, at 2700mhz for 18 minutes, at 2800mhz less than a minute... all with stock vcore (1.25 - 1.30v)
ADO4000IAA5D0
NAARG0737GPMW
2.7ghz or more?!
the problem is that my motherboard (asrock alivenf6g-dvi) doesn't let me to increase the vcore, only decrease
there is a little modification to increase, but that will just make useless the cool n quite to (cool n quit will run with 1.3v or more), and since I let this PC downloading files for most of the time cool n quite is a good.
Look this Bios mod for your mb, http://www.box.net/shared/6bc15dlctc
There is a big list with modded bios in this thread.
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/sho...p?t=3&page=312
cool & quiet aint useful when overclocking anyway, it can (and in most cases will) make your system unstable. So if you can mod it, or take up on the advice and test out an unlocked modded bios I would make the suggestion, just do it. These cpu's can handle 24/7 up to 1.45~1.5v for years in most cases, depending on your cooling :) Clock it till it rocks! ;)
And yeah... 2.7 GHz is in most cases easy with these cpu's. I have still not found one that doesent do that.
Only valid at this time. Vcore limit to 1.55V ( mobo limit ), air cooling, ihs out

I dont know how some are getting 3 ghz stable. I couldnt even boot at 2.99 and have only now been able to run prime 95 stable for 1.5 hours.
I didnt tweek ram at all... only set it to 333mhz.
How do I go about getting higher speeds?
How am I doing? : D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...cpuzcegras.png
I believe I can go higher. TRUE w/ S-Flex F, I load at just under 60 on Orthos.
I might get 2.8 on this.
"LCB9E 0633 BPMW" - not sure if it's BP or CD "revision"
I can get 2750MHz stable on my x2 3800+ and 2800 seems ok, for general usuage but my temperatures are not good - getting new h/s/f soon - probably the best I can find.
btw, cegras, thats a good clock is it on stock vcore? if it is then you should be onto a winner. Some that can do 2.7ghz on stock can do 3000 on 1.5v or so from what I have read (toledo x2s) and this one has done 3006 before on 1.55v for benchmarking and it didnt lock up at all, it just got too toasty.
cpu-z verification upto 3217MHz - ac cooling freezer pro w/ 80mm fan - and super pi at ~3050 - 1MB ~ 29s

the above si soft sandra arithmetic benchmark was at 2806MHz - it says 2750 for a reason - because I boot the PC up at 2750 (BIOS) and set it to 2800 (Clockgen) as my mobo (EPOX 9nda) doesnt like 1t RAM CPC above 276 htt.

You do know I bought the Aerocool ExtremeEngine 3T, and with the Zalman 9700LED I got 2.8 GHz @ 1.425V instead of 2.75GHz... the temps are not even getting to 40c orthos load, and my mem is really weak when run on a divider, but I got it to DDR466 when set @ 3-4-4-10 1T... and I do know my timings aint the best, but it's UCCC for crying out loud... it's not that bad. I get DDR500 3-4-4-8 1T, but only when run 1:1 with the CPU.
I told you that I believe you can clock your cpu more if you get a better cooler, but I also got 50mhz more without the biggest hazzle on mine only by swapping the case. The one I've mentioned was really sweet I tell you. Lots of headroom for clocking with a cool, noisefree case.
I HATE NOISE
BUT LOVE CLOCKING!
