a 6200 agp of inno3d with 3.6ms sumsung mem
i cant even overclock in 1 mhz over the stock defult
have no idia y
my spec
p4 1.4 bus 800mhz
board abit is7-e2
dunno y i cant overclock it tried everything ??? maybe bios update for the board ??
help me please.......
thx
Did you enable the extra 4 pipes using rivatuner or by BIOS mod ?Quote:

In that case have a look at page 16 of this very thread ... :DQuote:

one other question , is one of the pipes i enabled damaged??
and if i will wont enable them in rivatuner and will enable them in bios ? will they work ok ?? (i case they are dameged ??)
how do i know they r ok couse one guy in page 16 said that this is a sign that 1 or more of the 4 pipes i enabled is damaged ??
thx
by the way i got 1414 with 4 pipes and 1881 with 8 pipes in 3dmark 05
lame score i know what can i do :) :) :) :)
Yes, if internal test for overclocking always fails after unlocking extra 4 pipes, then they are damaged.Quote:

Nope, as soon they are enabled (bios or rivatuner) internal test will fails anyway if extra pipes are'nt ok.Quote:

There is no way to know... you need to test as many games / benchmarks you can. If it work for your uses, then it's ok ;)Quote:

You can always overclock before doing the unlocking process. Then it'll keep your overclok setting anyway.
ok last thing.
can i now disable the 4 extra pipes in rivatuner, then overclock the card ,then enable them back on ???
thx again (sorry for the truble im new at this )
You can do it that way I guess, but most people just disable the rivatuner test I think.Quote:

No my english is bad couse im from israel
thx a lot you guys i'll post here tomorrow my scors @ 3dmark 05 @ 03 (with stack colling) and the overclocking max i get
ok did it and it works
got on 3dmark 05 -2212
and on 3dmark 03 -5466
by the way, how do i know the temperature on the card ?????
thank you guys
If it is not in rivatuner then you will need to mod the BIOS, I used nibitor from http://www.mvktech.net/component/opt...ory/Itemid,26/Quote:

On another topic I did the volt mod last night for memory but it only went up 20Mhz even with 2.92v, so I may be unlucky. Card now running at 685/714 but still cannot beat Gigi's 03 record ... arrghh !

there seems to be a bug in the Sparkle temp monitoring as the lowest it ever goes is 36C. When I bench at 1.72v and 685Mhz all I see is a dead flat line at 36C as the temp is actually lower than that.
Temp of coolant is -20C.
I am severely bandwidth limited at present, stupid memory .. 2.92v and only 714 when some people are hitting 800

Does any else's 6200 look like this? I seem to be the only person with this card. I can't test it yet because I'm waiting on Venice.

I seem to recall Conrad had one of those ( or similar 0, check out the graphics volt mod section .
That's a very cheap looking heatsink, I might be tempted to dump it when up and running if you plan to do a lot of overclocking.
Regards
Andy
Yea, I have a waterblock for it. I only plan on running that for a few weeks until I get an adaptor for my MCW-50.
I just check out the one conrad has and it looks a little different. His is a XFX 6600 and mine is an Apollo 6200.
Looks like Samsung 5ns. If it is, it might be a stretch to reach 600ddr.
ok got the tempature mod working but a funny thing there , dont have any idea what is a good temperature range without risking a meltdown of the card
my best guess is arount 60 deg celsius ( while pushing the card limits)
You should be able to get 70C and after that troubles will start to apepar I'd say ! 80C at a pinch ..Quote:

Yea, I know! Newegg.com has the card listed at 300/550, that's why I bought this card. I e-mailed them the other day and here's the response I got.
The product specifications falsely advertised a speed of 550mhz memory speed. I just e-mailed them back claiming again that I want to exchange this Apollo for another card, let's see how they respond. I do deserve a refund don't I? Should I straight out demand a refund or exchange?Quote:

Even Apollo's website doesn't list a ram speed. I hope they let me exchange this thing also. I'd be getting the more expensive ASUS 6200 so I don't see what they have to lose but a customer.
Apollo's website doesn't even list a speed for the memory so I really have nothing to go on other than newegg's description.

EDIT: Just got off the phone with newegg, they are going to give me a full refund for my card. I think I'm going to pick up a ASUS 6200 from them now.
What about mine memory?

Yours are 4ns.
You may need some cooling on the DDR module. I can reach 743MHz at 2.72V and they become quite hot, so you may have a thermal issue thereQuote:

OH DAMN
I orginally bought a Sparkle 6200 AGP 128MB so I could compete in the 6200 class. When it arrived it was the Sparkle 6600 AGP 128MB. I should have guessed as they were the only people in the UK who had the 6200.
So I benched it and half way through dropped it and killed it. So I ordered another Sparkle 6600 AGP 128MB and completed the benching and all was happy in the Land of Andy
My suppliers have now got in Sparkle 6200 and 6600 AGP so they must have finally got the 6200's and not the 6600. So I ordered one of those and it arrived yesterday.
Says 6200 on the receipt
Says 6200 on a sticker on the box
So it's a ... 6600 .............. aaaaarrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Now, if I was ordering a 6200 expecting a 6200 I would be most happy, but as I am not i am most unhappy. Everything is unhappy in the Land of Andy.
This 6600 is weird. It does 750Mhz RAM ... yeah baby !
But does 420Mhz core .. sob sob ....
I shall investigate further but in the meantime I have given up and ordered a Gigabyte card. I would have gone for the Asus but that is a known quantity with Peter Lu now so I thought I would add to the knowledge pool for 6200's and let people know how these do ( unless I have missed the threads and 100 Gigabyte owners now pipe up ! )
Regards
Andy
That sux Andy. :(
I still say that you are justified in benching your 6600 as a 6200, if you can successfully change the ID. I want to let everyone reading this thread know that Andy's card is exactly the same pcb and memory as my 6200(PNY)......short pcb, extends about 1/2" past agp clip, 'spag43' printed on pcb, hynix 3.6s, etc.
.....Do it Andy!!

The sad thing is that even if I can get this current Sparkle 6600 to work at 680/750 it still will not beat a 6600 with 2ns memory at 550/1100, such is the memory bandwidth limitation. Oh well.

If i remember correctly how number should be read, it seems to be a NV45.
It can also be a NV44 (0445A2) but for sure it's not a NV43.
That '0445' refers to the 45th week of '04 for a production date.Quote:

It looks to be the right size for NV43 or possibly NV44. Is there even such a thing as a NV45??Quote:

Jay
nv45 is nv40 with native PCIe support AFAIK.
If that is an Asus GE card the chip is on then that would be nv43 core.

Thanks guys. I'll be borrowing a friends Winchester this weekend and hopefully it will unlock successfully.

6200 Overclocked or 6600 overclocked?
How does the 9550 Speedy Edition perform against a 6600?
Believe the 6600 should win hands down
Well I borrowed a friends 3000+ Winchester this weekend and successfully unlocked my 6200 to 8 pipelines. I also overclocked the card to 530/720 then ran 3DMark03 and got a score of ~6800. Is my score kinda low? Everything was stock except for the card.
Hey guys. You have been getting great numbrs with this mod and have convinced me to get one for my next pc. Just a quick question though, does the 256mb versions unlock and overclock as well? I'd expect the core to overclock as well but he memory to be lower (weakest link
-Xoddoza
Be careful with the 6200 now, the A4 version of the nv43 chip DOES NOT UNLOCK, only the A2 version.Quote:

Yea, didnt think it would take too long for them too lock it proper. I'm in nz and we always get stuff at least 1 month after you guys so I should be good.
Where do I look if I have Version 2 or 4?
I got a leadtek 6200 A2 128bit 128mb agp then used rivatuner to unlock it. All 8 pipelines work. Then flashed it to sparkle 6600 ultra timing bios. The core went up to 500mhz memory went up 700mhz with stock cooling. I think it can go more but going to test it later. :woot:
My question is in rivatuner the Z occlusion is checked and greyed out is it on and working? I also have it set to 6600gt id. Z-colour compression seem to be check too but not greyed out.
Any tweak/mod for purevideo encoding mpg4/xvid?/tvin/out
Could you explain how you flashed it? Ie) What command line parameters you used? Some people here have been having problems where flashing hasn't seemed to have an effect.Quote:

wonder to push the card around 650 or maybe 700 gpu clocks,
does anyone ever seen if it can be done?
how much the max volt we can feed to the core?
I'm flashing with this command parameters :
NVflash -4 -5 -6 sparkleultra.rom
but beware it already clocked @ 500-700
so make sure ur card can handle this high frekuencies
if u failed to do some flash..maybe u should clear ur EEPROM first (eg: nvflash -e)
n than flash with new bios..

Hello to everyone...
So which 6200 AGP do you Advice to me???
Which card is the
best 6200 AGP (Pipemode unlockable (A2)) ????
--MSİ 128mb 128bit, 3.6ns Hynix is 120$ (Maybe it's an A4 chip  But i am not sure...)
--Leadtek 128mb 128bit ??ns 120$
-- others....
I've been reading this ongoing post for some time now. Great information. I'm hoping someone may be able to give me some info regarding the problems I'm having with my 6200.
I bought the Chaintech SA6200 256mb 128bit card from Newegg. It states that the memory is 500mhz, however, upon installing it, Coolbits and Rivatuner detect the default memory as 400mhz. The best I can get with this card stable is 400/510. Anything over 520 for the memory I get flashing pixels, artifacts, etc. Also, it's an A4 chip so the 4 pipes are not unlockable. With that, I got an RMA from Newegg and I am contemplating sending it back.
In the meantime, I ordered the Leadtek A6200TD 128mb 128bit since there were alot of replies to this post about that card. Plus it is $115 at Newegg. It has the A2 chip which is great because I can unlock the 4 pipes with Rivatuner. However, I can't do anything with this card oc wise. Coolbits detects the optimal settings as 370/692. I run 3dmark03 at that setting and I get some crazy stuff all over the screen. Almost looks like snow like you would see on a tv. I crank the memory down to 650, 600, same thing. I can't even oc the core. I just ran 3dmark03 with 400/550 settings and still get "snow". Only at default settings of 300/550 can I get a clean run with 3dmark03. But from other posts this card can do so much more. Did I get a bad card or is it my system?
Here's my specs:
Athlon XP 3200 11@200
ECS L7S7A2 mobo
768mb (3x256) PC3200 Kingston Value RAM
Maxtor 80gb 7200rpm hd
In 3dmark03 I get:
Chaintech @ 400/510 = 4,162 (I've gotten close to 4,300 with a little higher settings)
Leadtek @ stock 300/550 and 8 pipes = 4,600+
So the Leadtek is still probably the better choice with 8 pipes, but I don't want to keep a card that supposedly has so much potential but can't be used.
I'm thinking about just keeping the Chaintech and RMA'ing the Leadtek, or putting it in my wife's pc and not oc'ing it.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!
Update: I can run the Leadtek @ 350/700, with 4 pipes disabled, artifact free and get a 3dmark03 score of 4,406.
Normally if a pixel pipe fails then you get squares on the screen which is where the missing pixels from that pipe are not drawn, but yours seems worse than that for some reason.
Does it effect the score when you have these artifacts ? If not you could run 4 for games and 8 for benching ?
Regards
Andy
vote for Leadtek 3.6 ns 128MB
Just flash the bios to sparkle ultra. You can get 500/700 on default.
Mines can overclock to 585Mhz core and 735Mhz memory and pass the test on stock cooling without volt mod.
But I set it to 530Mhz/730Mhz to be on the safe side. I check out some of the volt mod guides, but looks complex maybe later I'll try to do some when I find a way to add ram sink and gpu heatsink to cool the leadtek 6200->6600 agp card more. :)
My Leadtek can work 550-750 without adding ramsink n still using the stock gpu coolerQuote:

lol i barerly get 540 at my 6600
I got a Gigabyte PCI EX 6200. it mods to 8 pipelines perfectly.
so I took a old P4 Heatsink, and mounted that on it. and it was doing 615/730 at stock. just the P4 heatsink was all that was different.
while this was impressive for what the card was doing at stock, I knew it had alot more in it.
so I extracted the default bios, and modded it, for new clock speeds of 575/650, and enabled the Temp Sensor to work.
this was cool to see the temp sensor working.
finally, this card felt like it was turning into a card I could game with :)
well, good is never good enough for me, I had to go farther...
so I started messing with the driver first, and found that if you use the 6600 Driver, you get a nice boost in your 3dmark2003 score ;)
then I volt modded it, and quickly found the limits this card has...
anything above 1.54 volts, equals fuzzy dots on the screen, and quick freeze ups, even at low clock speeds.
this card just will not take anything more then 1.54 volts.
at 1.45 volts, the speed I used was 640 mhz, which worked great. but at 1.5 volts, the card quickly overheats, even with the huge P4 heatsink on there.
seems this card needs a waterblock :)
so no more then 640 on air for me... not yet atleast.
the Memory however, is abit of a mystery.
it's solid up to about 3.25 volts, then after that, it appears to be doing great...
but if you up the voltage past 3.3 volts, the memory just goes nuts.
I had it all the way to 3.53 volts, and the card was fine, just doesn't like anything more then 3.25 volts.
at 3.15 volts, I had 770 stable for benchmarks.
thats nice getting another 40 mhz with that volt mod, cause that alone, got me another 200 points on 3dmark2003, which showed me, the memory was really holding back my Core.
sooooo, so far, this cards pretty damn cool.
it was only $50 from neweggs refurbs, and at that price, I am beyond impressed and have had a ton of fun with this card.
only problem so far, is a strange one...
the 7189 driver sucks for this card.
about 20 seconds into 3dmark 2003, it will just "blink" then the speed is drastically lower, getting about 7000 frames total, when the airplane test finishs.
when the card works great with the 6693 driver, I get about 9700 frames by the end of that same test, cause it doesn't do that "Blink" with that driver.
that thing with 3dmark2003 and the 7189 drivers, is constant, once it blinks, you have to reboot, before the computer will start being any good again.
so the newest drivers from Nvidia, are totally unsuable for me, so my 3dmark2003 scores are really lacking at the moment :(
Kunaak, does your Gigabyte have the ISL6549 IC for voltages ?
Regards
Andy
I did 621/619 on my Leadtek 6200TD http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=3758720 with score of 7117

CPU is affecting the result ;)

that's great spoge bob, maybe u can change with the Sparkle Ultra BIOS (to get more core oc'ing headroom)
anyway, what's ur mem? 4ns or 3.6ns?
and what ramsinks do u use on the mem modules?
I have an Sparkle 6200 agp and an 6600 agp in tests but the max I can get with stock cooling is 460/555 for 6200 and 525/585 for 6600. I can activate the extra pipelines for 6200. But I'm dissapointed about the overclocking. What can I do ?
