got up to 1276mhz but it only cut 0.14s from 1250mhz run. That includes using Spi Booster on 0086.

Memtweaker Timing#2

CHB DIMM 0 is tricky .. will only run with different RTL & IOL for ranks 0 & 1.
Sometimes boots with both ranks at 41 & 4 but fails at Loop 6. Only passes 32M if Rank 0 is 40 & 3

Looks like Intel shifted the POST calculation to include WCL from SNB onwards. Previously these two were tied on X58 and P55. IO-L is buffer latency and allows RTL to be shifted to account for any IO delays from the DRAM buffers (there is also a clock skew offset but that value is internal and calculated during POST).

EDIT: I should add that IO-L is an offset, the base value it is added to shifts so adjustment does not always help. The shifting in the base value is due to read/write levelling drift. This manifests at speeds higher than DDR3-2000 depending upon the DIMMs used (some DIMMs are okay to DDR3-2400). Basically you have to get lucky with training for stability.

The effective RTL time is likely close to: 8 X ((1000/Uncore Freq)+ Clock skew)+tCL. The IOL likely moves a pointer at the IMC FIFO buffer for data arrival on top of the RTL time. Uncore freq should be around DRAM Freq on this platform. I had a quick look at SNB last year and it seemed that is what Intel had done, I would assume it is the same here.

DRAM-IMC offset on formula is game changer ;) 9-11-9 2550mhz not working on my pi's (it wants 9-12-9) volts not helping fails @ first iteration
Bumped DRAM-IMC offset +.01165 now 32m stable...Im stunned, those asus boys know what they are doing

If I cannot break 6m20s on air with this board then I will quit 2d benching for good lol

IDK lol, tWCL is 7, boots fine at 6 but pc shuts off doing waza.

Not sure why my times are so poor with 2x2gb kits. I started off going by cheapseats timings and subs, then went to 8-12-8, then 8-12-7-27.

im going to assume everyone in here is using a raptor? Ive been on ssds. is there anyone on ssds? is this why my scores are so bad? ive been on 3 boards. 3 sets of ram, 2 cpus, differnent os, waza manual, waza with ocx. the only thing that hasnt changed is ive been on ssds the whole time.

Manually changing the RTL & IOL on that rank in Memtweaker (must apply both at same time) hasn't worked very well so far.

Thanks buddy :up: I was told many times to ditch server 2003 & run XP & for me getting my lazy a** fired up enough to make a skinny XP has made a great improvement.

yes i believe when I was on the asus execute disable bit was default disabled.

I havent done any specific ssd tweaks for this xp install. I googled xp ssd tweaks and found this ocz thread. Are any of you guys using any of the suggested tweaks on ssds?

ocnub. I had the waza problem too. I could run 32m but when I ran ocx I would bsod. U need to reinstall os and start from scratch. that was the only way I fixed it.

if I only have 2 dimms populated should I shut bank interleave off?

you nailed it execute disable bit was enabled. I disabled it and i'm doing better. hang on.

Memory is unstable. You might get away with lowering the CPU multiplier during Waza if ROG Connect allows.

My Asus gene V is dead , so i can't continue . I also lost some screenshots with 6.19.X i had with 2 PSC sticks . I accidentaly deleted them ... :shrug:

My only option is to wait till next month for the formula V or extreme V.

I find it is way faster to see if 200%-300% coverage passes memtest then it will pass 32m

yes and for a quick revision instead of waiting memtest hyperpi32 will tell you instant

ocxtweaker would bsod my system but 32m will be stable... reloaded os and now 32m isnt stable at identical settings. i think my psc is very tempermental with the weather... makes me want to throw them in the streets and run them over a few times.

c7 2600 is still impossible for me on air even with single sided dimms :down:

guess its time to re-think my approach and run differently for a better time.

2. The 1st post is everybody's reference, I have an example of the data-line. If your dataline/screenshot is not following the right format then I remind everybody to follow it.

I think the data that was provided by Cheapseats is incomplete for use on IB until quantified fully. There has to be a real shift in the IMC side schedule for there to be any gain in performance. I have seen one place where the RTL remains static with a CAS shift but have not compared that against a drop in TWCL. What someone needs to do is find the RTL clock shift and then plot that against TWCL clock margins. If the RTL changes (lower) or stays static, then the performance has to increase to some extent (even if small), otherwise there will be an eventual buffer overflow.

I am busy now for the next 3 weeks so it will be a time before I get to this. I provided the approximated read equation a few pages back and how to work it all out above, so someone can run with it if they have the time, or I will get to it eventually. :)

waza is still a challenge for me on this platform,

one thing i have noted though, as your memory timings get tighter and tighter, waza becomes more consistent,

for me when testing waza with "loose" memory secondaries my waza can swing around a bit, but when i tighten up those secondaries it becomes more consistent,

i think 2-3 seconds is a fair estimate, but it also depends on your OS, so does waza size, copy techniques, wait times, etc

Does wazaa on an SSD have any ill effect? My wazaa method might not be as good as the rest as it made my results 3 seconds slower. Same OS and tweaks, same wazaa as in my good ol' raptor. :confused:
I am re-checking the OS tweaks as I may have missed something. This is on WinXP. I couldn't get Win2k3 to run properly on IB (always shows 35x in the OS even though in I have it set higher in the BIOS/UEFI). lolz

initial loop should be irrelevant for result, got 3 different, 4.313, 28x and 265 and same result.
sometimes first 5 loops are strong and then time gets worse...depends on waza yes..

anyway..strong result :cool:

Getting stronger, melting Vaseline as I type this :) (dont get a boner Honda) rofl...chip is limited to 2610mhz mem speed on air (it is worse cold) so will just be tightening timings..

Changed from 1.8gb to 3.2gb .rar, I think bigger file is necessary on SSD
