@Hersounds...Did you try the usual boot up routine? ie. Take the battery out for a minute, clear cmos and use 1 ram stick @ one of the red socket.

-Intel(R) Graphics Accelerator Driver V8.15.10.2598 for Windows 2008 R2/7 64bit.
Is this driver need to be installed using P8Z77 WS with crossfire. I do not intend to run LucidLogix Virtu.
Thank you
You only need the Intel Graphics driver if you use the iGPU. If you use a PCIe card it's not necessary unless you wish to try the lucid thing.
some UEFI bios OC guide Maximus V Gene for recommended guys?
Cold bug or not. The past 3 days the room has been a bit warm, The pc started each morning with no issues. Straight away. no delay no nothing. When the room is a bit colder. I would say below 21c , it is then when i get the boot delay issue.
Going on vacation now, so not much time to spend on this.
Just my observation. Nothing written in stone.

>New bios 1206 available for ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe
They forgot to add "New mini-game to hit Del at the right time to enter Bios"... Still trying to get back in lol.
Edit: Bios seems stable. Same 131Gflops LinX, same temps, ... but it's a pain to enter the bios: smash Del non-stop and it takes me around 10 times to succeed in my case.
Well sadly, I am unable to flash this bios. Every time I flash it, it reads the bios reboots and then all I get is a black screen with the vga LED red and the post LCD reads "94". Tried using flashback as well and same thing. Flash back to 1015 and all good. Thoughts???
Nah, that didn't work. Figured out that 1206 doesn't like my tv card in the bottom slot (PCIEX16_3). Once I moved it, she posted fine. Weird that 1015 did not have this issue though??? In fact, the tv card was no longer recognized and neither was my corsair link on 1206. Flashed back to 1015 and all is well again. I'm guessing that 1206 shuts down some lanes or something funky is going on....
Question is anyone having any problems with using a Raid 0 with ssd's on the Z77?
I think mine is working ok

Hey, wow, what a good read :-) I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire thread and it has been very informative indeed. Thank you members and thank you Raja :D

A few questions;
1) I know this is more of an Intel question but I was wondering if you may be able to shed some light on this any way. What exactly is the IRSS (Intel Rapid Start Technology) feature? If it is indeed something like what I am thinking it is i.e. something to do with some sort of specialized Intel branded 'hibernation' system, should I not bother installing this part of the AI Suite since I am not planning to use any sort of Sleep / Hibernate system(s) at any point for my desktop?
2) What is the difference between the 'USB Charger+' and 'AI Charger+' features? Are they one in the same? I ask as there are two separate drivers for them, and as far as I can tell they are both for features whilst despite having different names, perform the same function. Also in regards to this, once the drivers are indeed installed for these/this feature(s), is there an option I must consciously activate to use the features(s), or is it automatic? Finally on the same topic, to use said functionality once the drivers have been installed, are there only specific USB ports that it is active for, or is it active on all USB ports on the board?
ASUS blurbs about both -

3) Lastly, if I set the bottom x16 PCIe slot to 4x instead of 1x in the UEFI, will this do any damage to the ASUS Xonar Xense that I have in there?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Confirmed. Besides the original press-F1-to-setup-bios session, I have been unable to re-enter the BIOS with 1205 (P8Z77-V), no matter how much I spam DEL at bootup. I am now back on 1015. (Another similar report here at hardocp.)
Actually, things got worse afterwards. I tried to revert to 1015 within Windows (since I couldn't enter the BIOS to boot off USB stick, and the auto-UEFI USB port wasn't triggering either); but ASUS Update stopped responding when the flash reached 100%. Rebooting, I found the BIOS to be in corrupt/recovery mode. Thankfully I already had a BIOS file on USB disk, to recover with. I later tried everything again: same issues with 1205, and same issues with ASUS Update crashing + corrupting the BIOS. Summary: always have a backup BIOS file on USB stick, and avoid Windows BIOS updates when possible!
Raja were there any changes to the 6950 problems in 1206?

1) Yes, it is for quick recovery from hibernate. If you are not using this feature then no no need to install.
2) AI Charger is for Apple devices. USB Charger+ extends this to non Apple devices. There is a USB port on the rear IO with a green border that must be used for this.
3) The Xonar Xense is an X1 card, so you should have no problems.

Any reasons why one should pick the M5G over the V Pro? The Pro has more SATA ports.
I still did, but german ASUS support is a bad joke trying to fool me.
even at official ASUS supportforums anybody of staff even commented the reported problems, very poor in my opinion.
thatīs why Iīm asking here because it seems you are the only one even taking notice of problems.

/edit: I gave UEFI 3301 a try, the 6950/70 issue is defintly not fixed as you assumed.
Fighting issue with pci-e only being 4x with a 4890 in Top slot. threw into other boards and systems around and will work @ 2.0 16x. Frustrate the hell out of me because no rhyme or reason on this P8Z77 Deluxe.
Hi Jason,
Check the CPU socket for any bent pins. Also check the secondary PEG and see if it runs at more than 4X. What are you using to report lane width?
-Raja
What is q-code 67? Just turned it on today, I got that code. TIA
Edit : Board is an M5G...
Could be memory related. Not sure what you were doing with the board last, but clear CMOS, take out all excess USB devices and SATA drives, down to a single memory module etc to debug if it will POST.
@Raja: BIOS Flashback seems to have done the trick. Board is alive again. I used the bios that Andre posted in the Kingpin forums then flashed to 0904. Gonna test a bit more then back to some more SuperPI 32M. :)Quote:

I have a question regarding the Sabertooth Z77 thermal radar fan control. Why can't the the thermal radar fan control use the same levels as fan xpert2? For example, case fans using thermal radar fan control can only go down to 40% while they can go down to 30% in fan xpert2. I prefer to use the thermal radar fan control as it allows me to use the sensors all over the board to regulate the PWM fans as opposed to only CPU temp allowed in fan xpert2. Thanks.
Too bad. Thanks for the quick response Raja.
Where is the multicore enchancement setting in the Maximus V Gene? I can't find it anywhere.
Raja@Asus
What Xmp profile should i choose on the Z77 maximus v gene for this ram (Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PXD38G1600LLK) ?
Hi Raja@ASUS,
running on a P8Z77 WS (BIOS 0703) I've replaced my 3770K with a Xeon E3-1275 v2 and "Multicore Enhancement" is no longer working. Regardless of what you set it, Intel turbo rules are followed. The multi of these CPUs is locked completely and it may be due to this that the feature cannot not get enabled. Is there any chance to have it working in the future? 200MHz more under full load would be a nice gain. ;)
Apart from that WS is just an awesome board, most problem free build I've ever had, great job.
Thank you. :)
That's likely your answer right there. The register set has to allow it for us to do it. Multi-core enhance requires that the TDP ratings of the CPU can be over-ridden so that Turbo state can be maintained at higher loads. If that cannot be done, the feature cannot work.
Hi Raja,
Any progress toward the MegaRaid on Sabertooth?
Thanks again
0904 beta bios for maximus gene.
I am having a problem with random black screen with this new beta bios. Seems like its identifying the IGP atleast according to the device manager. Can someone help me out?
Multi monitor off in bios, but a lot of options to play with iGPU are now showing in bios, which were not there before.
Need some help here. I'm running a P8Z77 WS with a 3770K. I was having some problems with my OC, so I decided to reset the CMOS using the jumper. That worked.
Now, I have lost my ability to set the Turbo Ratio manually. I used to have it set for "45" to run at 4500. Now, that whole bank of settings is gone. I tried setting the Ai Overclock Tuner setting for "Auto" "Manual" and "XMP". Gone.
The system now runs at 39X under load.
Any idea what happened or how I can get those settings back?
Good answer, and its the right one.
Bad news. Tried that and it didn't work. I even downgraded to a previous BIOS, then re-flashed to the current.
No change.
Tried pulling the battery, clearing CMOS again. This is nuts.
Looking further in the BIOS, all the settings about configuring the PCIE are missing as well. Used to be you could select your default graphics to be the PCIE card or the iGPU and then tweak some of that.
That's all missing as well. Somehow, the board doesn't recognize the chip anymore as being unlocked or having an iGPU.
Oddly, the "Internal PLL Overvoltage" option disappeared as well.
Now in the RMA process with ASUS.
In the meantime, is there any way to reprogram the BIOS beyond just reflashing? Anything lower level that can be done?
Might want to try pulling the CPU and reinstalling. That is strange, hope you don't have to RMA.
I think I wrecked the CMOS or BIOS by using the clear CMOS jumper while the board was plugged in. I had powered off at the PSU, but it was still plugged in. When I toggled the jumper, it caused the board to power on. When you use the jumper, it is supposed to be completely off-line, even unplugged.
That's interesting. Not sure why it decided to flake out then.
Here's another weird thing: The P8Z77 WS will no longer post without my EVGA 680 installed. I tried to force the iGPU to run by pulling the 680, and it hangs up with an A2 code. Makes no sense at all.
Just crossing my fingers it's not the CPU.
thought i'd chime in with a question to hopefuly get solved.
i've got a z77 sabertooth with an i5 3570k, bought it last saturday, and i've had it running 4ghz since i put it together.
today, i decided to lap my cpu in preperation for my lapped true 120, and now it seems to ignore the settings i set in the bios, and will only go up to a 34x multi, even though i have it set in the bios for 40x. any reason why this might happen?
i dont think i messed anything on the cpu up, made sure to dust it off and wipe it down with alcohol on Q-tips before putting it back in.
Reflash UEFI with EZ flash 2 and a FAT32 formatted flash drive. Use a single memory module to ensure the system is stable during the flash. If that does not return control of all multipliers, then you need to RMA the board. You can ask for advanced shipping in the USA.

Tried rom 0903 as well. it still shows the intel graphics in the device manager and i seem to be loosing video quite often, maybe once in 2-3 hours. I have turned multi monitor to disable in the bios, but am still able to see the additional graphics in the device manager. Anyway to turn this off? Thanks guys.
hi, I just got a P8Z77-V and updated to bios 1205 but now my ps/2 keyboard can't access bios, I keep pressing DEL and can't access the bios. Keyboard works fine inside windows.
I have read couple users have same issue too.
I and dernettemann tested several Ivys on a Maximus V Gene and we noticed a really strange behaviour.
Even after a reboot the vCCSA and vCCIO a set to 1,4v and vCore also. We tried several Bios versions and CPUs.
Is the insulation not good enough or is the problem anywhere else?
Thanks guys!
Just thought I'd mention that my torture test of Prime95 blend failed at 12h:02m! (3770K @ 4500)
Unbelievable. That's a long time to wait for failure. One of the 8 workers stopped with a hardware failure.
So I bumped Vcore another .01.
Takes me to a Vcore of 1.3000 in bios with 1.344 under load due to LLC.
This particular CPU is a bit of a dog. 4600 MHZ is impossible at less than 1.4V. I don't know how people are getting stable 4500 at ~1.2V.
I'm guessing that my 32GB of G.Skill RAM at 2400 MHZ isn't making it any easier.
Yea, the ram will be a problem...
My badest ivy did 4500 on h2o with 1,23v under prime95. Just try the 1:11 Divider, and i think you will need much less vcore...
brillant und erstaunlich!! I just switched over to the 100:133 ratio. Makes perfect sense. No need to force the CPU to run the bus quite that fast.
Already got it down to 1.25 Vcore at 4500 on this 3770K. Prime stable for 5 minutes already. At 100:100 it would have crashed instantly. This is good! I suspect that I may be able to get Vcore down even farther. Overall stability will likely be improved as well.
Thanks much.
I'm getting this cursors shadows in AITweaker when moving the mouse fast, is that normal?

when the maximus 5 will be on stock ???
would expect it within the next three weeks! there is a thread discussing this on the asus rog forums: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...imus-V-Formula
some ppl hope its earlier but i doubt. monitoring online shops here in europe on a daily basis and there is not a single sign of this boards on any retailers list. it should pop up there some time before availability in stock ...
Iam having a problem with the sound card and the P8Z77 WS i7 3770k, Win7 64bit.
The issue been a crackling sound with i play SC2 for example. The "sound" is like a distortion some times.
When i play two different sound sources ie the game and Winamp, i noticed that the game volume will get lower when winamp is playing a song. Stopping winamp the in game sound will come up to normal level. Duing this time i hear sounds "crackling" from time to time. This also happens when in simple idle mode (desktop environment).
I also experience lag, which it seems is consistent with the sound issue, ie "crackling sound then lag". This lasts for 1 or 2 seconds only. It is random ie start of game as well while in game with out having heavy CPU usage.
I have notice the same while playing MKV file or any large avi, or mov file. (files from a handheld video camera for example)
Disabling the on-board soundcard, and using a USB sound card from my steelseries headset, i do not have this issue.
Both game and winamp play with the same volume. No other sounds, while in desktop or while browsing the net.
Drivers have been removed and reinstalled few times.
No IRQ conflict has been detected.
DirectX tests showed no issues.
All HW updates where implemented at the time.
Any pointers welcome
guys between the ASUS sabertooth Z77 and the M5G Z77, i know the last is the best but i have a pro audio soundcard that needs a PCIe connector and as its microATX my SLI covers it
what do you think ?

My Asus P8Z77-V Pro produce some errors in the windows event log. I believe itīs about the WLan.
Here is a Link with a screen shoot (yes I know its in German) but just to get an Idea.
Any advice, how to solve this?
I have a P8Z77-V Pro and I'm having one nasty problem.
I'm not able to save the boot options. The ssd is set to first but it doesn't start by it saying that I need to select a proper boot option...
Every time I boot I have to press F8... I don't have any idea of why this is happening.
It's all well set but in the end it just acts like if the dvd drive was set first...
It's just strange...
Sometimes it boots in the right order and sometimes not.
Let me see if clear cmos helps.
Anyone with mouse problems in UEFI bios, on Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe, with the latest Bios?
My mouse (Roccat Kone+) doesn't work on any USB ports!
Already tried a usb Corsair mouse, and doesn't work too!
How soon can we get our hands on Asus' ThunderboltEX PCIe addon card?
I'm having a problem with my new P8Z77-I Deluxe. I need some help.
External drive docks connected to the ports(on the backplane) aren't present at POST, in BIOS or Windows.
I have 2 ESATA docks from different manufacturers, multiple cables, drives etc. All hardware in question works on my DFI NF4-UD system as well as my laptop with any cable combination, so I know the hardware is sound. The drive docks work connected to my P8Z77-I Deluxe via USB. It's as though the ESATA ports arent connected to the controller at all.
My BIOS version is 0504 which I believe is the latest. I've looked for settings that might be the cause of this problem and so far have come up empty. IDE, AHCI, RAID makes no difference re detection.
I was really lookin forward to high speed ESATA transfers. I'm open to suggestions.
1 Thermaltake BLACX ST0005U
2 Thermaltake BLACX ST0014U
3 Other brand(loaned it out today will hopefully have it in hand this evening) Edit: VANTEC, NexStar hard drive dock, Model: NST-D100
I see no revision information on the docks. If you can tell me how to find the firmware version I'll get that also.
if its any help raja, Im using Thermaltake BLACX ST0005U on gene without issues shows in the bios etc.
Do you have any suggestions for me to try troubleshooting it from this end in the meanwhile? BIOS settings etc...
Edit:
Thermaltake says there is only one firmware version(the original) possible for the products I own. No hardware revisions either apparently.
