Yes, just because you have a tracking number doesn't mean the package has left the warehouse. The tracking number is created and issued from their system before it ever goes anywhere. You will need to just keep checking to see if the item is actually in transit.
As well as the number of negative feedbacks and amount of bad publicity Tiger Direct would get from this would outweight any monetary value that they received by overcharging for these processors on launch day. It would be a completely bone-headed and imo the worst marketing mistake a company could make. The other thing is that as most people will tell you the majority of people that post reviews about a product/service are the people that have a negative review about it. Tiger Direct would literally come up with hundreds of negative reviews. Also when I called them the person on the phone said he had 440 of the E6700 in stock, and as you can see all of those are now sold out. I assume they are just backlogged on the shipment and our tracking information will come up as "origin scan" or such.
You guys are making me feel better about overpaying for a retail 6800 a couple weeks ago. At least I avoided the scramble.

You guys look at the ZZF page? E6300s are now listed as "delivery august 7th".
If that includes the one I ordered last night with next day air that was "in stock". I will never stop talking sh@t about these people.

A friend owns a shop and this is the information he got today on the C2D.
There is supposed to only be sales today (27 July) on Extreme 6800 and the launch Date on the E6600 will not be until the 2 or 3 week in August with the 6300, 6400, 6700 launching on Aug 7,2006. I should say that there are reseller's and distributes that have them in stock but Intel has emailed them all saying they can not sell them until after August 7th with the 6600 being on August 14 or 21st.

Called up zipzoomfly today and the guy said they are supposed to be getting their E6600's in on monday 7/31.. but again, I believe they won't ship them until the next monday 8/7 :\ BAH Intel
i feel like intel will be banking on our excitement for this chip...
they've picked up on our trends of buying the lowest clocked chip with equal cache to the higher models with intentions of OC'ing. they saw what we did with the amd opty 165, X2 4400, PD 920/930...
they will hold the E6600 hoping that those that were looking to buy that will want it so bad that we will just bite the bullet and purchase a 6700... they know we wont step down to half the cache, only up... BS :mad:

When you get tracking numbers you need to click "see more detail". Having a tracking number may or may not be meaningful. If the detail shows "billing info rec'd" it just means the number was pre-assigned for a shipment sometime in the future. (could be a week or more before it actually ships).Quote:

intel will release the lower clocked chips first and then they will release the middle ones in hope that some people will upgrade as chips are released.

My order for an OEM E6400 from TigerDirect now has tracking info in UPS system for an Origin Scan. They're shipping me something...
I just got off the phone with one of my suppliers, and the good news is that I have enough 6300's coming in to cover all existing pre-orders, and they are on the way as we speak (No word on other models, yet).
The more interesting bit of news is that he BEGGED me not to ship them until after the 7th, because Intel is demanding that nobody ship until then apparently. Thus, I would not expect any retailers to ship any more prior to that, lest they face the wrath of Intel. This certainly explains everyone giving the 7th as an ETA.
I'm curious if there will be any fallout from the few that have been leaked out so far.

Intel is just being stupid with this August 7th crap. First they have an NDA date and then they have an "official" launch date and then the X6800's are shipping but nothing else is and now they are saying the rest of the lineup won't be allowed to be shipped until August 7th. They should of had ONE date and they should of lifted the NDA, officially announced Conroe, and had some ready to hit retail channels and that date should of been TODAY since it was suppost to of been the 24th and then got pushed back.

I have to say, I have been a little weary all day long. My original plan was to get the E6600, so all day i've been considering my decision, wondering if I wasted my money by not waiting for the 4mb L2 Cache from the E6600. But after doing some research, i'm glad I went with the less expensive chip, for two reasons:
1. I only play CS:S
2. the extra 2 mb cachhe doesn't seem to make enough of a difference to convince me to spend an extra 100+ dollars.
Anyway, i'm quite excited...I do have one real concern; my ram. I am affraid my ram will be a complete bottleneck. :confused: :confused: :confused:
