Where do you guys get your EV ratings from?
My camera doesnt seem to show it, I get it displayed under live view, but once the shots been captured its automatically displayed as 0.0EV

What exactly do you mean? I can set it on my Nikon D60 by going to the image settings and then changing it manually. If you mean how we check what it is when we've put the picture on the PC, it's in the EXIF.Quote:

What I was asking was how you found it after you took your image. Once Ive taken an shot, Jpeg or raw, my camera shows 0.0EV as the exposure level under image properties in my camera, I go into the jpeg's exif, which also shows it, as well as photoshop with raw files.
The only time I can see my EV level is through live view when I'm about to take the shot. Once the image gets captured nothing to do with EV gets stored :shrug:

Oh. Just read my manual, "Exposure Compensation cannot be set using M mode" Hmm..
That's kind of annoying. lol
I see, that's like me not being able to turn off the flash with my Nikon D60 whilst using "M" mode. I just don't get it, full manual mode hello?
Guess I'll have to live with it, had a google to see if there's anything around would measure exposure, guess not.
Oh well, I'll just to have edit exposure if needed in photoshop if I feel I need to after taking the shot. Would have been nice to know the actual level's though. :down:
If you think about it this makes sense... When using manual-mode you can adjust aperture and exposure yourselve using the exposure graph (displayed in most viewfinders). If you want to over- or underexpose the picture just adjust the exposure (or the aperture) yourself, what do you need the atomatic for? Think about it, the camera would have to choose between changing the aperture or the exposure...Quote:

This doesn't make any sense to me and I don't think this is a typical behaviour for a DSLR in manual mode (the DSLRs I've seen had a flash-button you had to push for this matter). You sure you can't disable it via the menu at least?Quote:

If you look at the bottom right options, "S, M", you can see that I have three options for my flash when it's in this setting. "Aufhellblitz" (lighting things up), "Reduzierung des Rote-Augen-Effekts" (Reducing the Red-Eye-Effect) and "Synchronisation auf den zweiten Verschlussvorhang" (Synchronization to the second shutter movement). The auto option includes the "Off" setting, as do a few others, but not the full manual setting. just testing out an old IR filter i have.
funny how the Lumix FZ5 allows IR pictures but Canon wont. (well my 20D wont)
the Lumix allows for 100% IR pictures using what ever IR filter you have. it WILL auto focus and take great shots, even in regular auto mode.
