about 17 minutes before core 0 failed, with core 0 on CPU-Burnin and core 1 on prime it went for over 1hr. so, core 0 is definatly the suck. i still think its entirely my mobo holding me back. because i can't get fully stable at anything above 323HTT. i don't have the money at the moment to get a new board. when i do i'm going to get a new board, ram, and psu. i currently have too much money tied up in my CCBBE 0610DPMW's

with your setup Repo i'm sure you can hit 3+ on 1.45 or lower.

I just got my stuff in today...a few moments ago. I got the cpu, and it's a CCBWE 0551 UPMW. >:O

I think this one is gonna go on ebay then.

man that sucks. i'd try it out first, see if you can get 2700 stable, it will make it more valuable if you have proof of it doing 2700 stable.

I'm sure it'll do 2700 stable. I seem to always get these really :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty processors...and steppings. They ALL however can do 2.75 without a problem. Not one have I ever had that couldn't do that. But, my goal is really 2.8...so, I guess i'll have to try again.

Pinnacle: You are right, I won't...it's going straight to ebay. Damn 170's. :(

um... why? most 0551's have hit 2600 or higher. so i would say he has a good chance of hitting 2700 or higher. with those speeds it makes it very marketable on ebay.

I had it and it wont go past 2.64 on either a A8n32 or a Dfi Expert, not even with crazy dividers, but this was on Air, maybe on water and crazy voltage you can hit 2.75, maybe.

I will however try again with another one...if only someone could tell me where the good steppings are.

haha. well, if you want a guarantee on the stepping you have to pay the price. you can still pick up a

I've been to tankguys before, never bought - however, I'm looking at it now, and I see 0551 stepping..where is this 0615 you speak of?

Eh, i just like the 170's...don't know why...don't care. Think i should still give it a try?

Some of these results are a bit inconclusive if you ask me...not many 170's for that stepping...and it should differ, correct?

Also - tankguys and flickerdown all sport this same stepping...so....should i trust it?

What 170 stepping? If you're talking about 0551 it sucks. You'd be much better off with a 0615EPMW 165.. don't know why anyone would get a 170 when you have a choice of 0609 or 0615 165's from 2 different retailers :slap:

Not gonna happen with a 0551

You can run 312x9 with a 165 with a 180 divider and it will put the RAM at exactly 280.8MHz. Performance would be no different than 1:1 with a 170 (except for the 8/0.8 extra mhz you get with the 165 :rolleyes: )

Tis a tough choice here bro.

Any other good steppings I could try to look for in the 170 range?

Haven't heard of anything good since 0550VPMW (back when it was worth buying a 170 since they did better than 165's). Maybe that's because no one buys them though :confused:
