This sounds nifty. Would love to get my hands on it. Need it Beta'd?

What might be causing this error with CPU-Tweaker final:

It did work fine few days ago.
Windows Vista X64 SP1
OK, thank; :)
MemSet 4.0 has been updated with tREF calculating in clock. (in spd table)
=> BulldogPO: try this version too.
this one is not the one that sets tref automaticaly according to memory speed tho or im missing something? because a lot of people would need tref numbers between 4041 and 5376
FELIX,
Automatic tREF calculation isn't working. Mikeyakame gave me a copy of that version that should have automatic tREF calculation. It would be nice if you could put that in MemTest. If it's already in that MemTest version, I have no idea how to use it.
Don't blame mikeyakame because he couldn't know that since his DFI board always sets the right tREF.
...blame mikeyakame  weird idea. :)
MemSet apply nothing automaticaly, simply, in spd table, tREF is calculating in
clock now, instead in time in old version.
it's work only on 965/P35/P45 chipset.
Working for me. You know, this is a really GREAT memory utility. Many thanks FELIX.
Felix, I am sure this has been asked and answered but I could not find a definite answer.....
Will Memset, or CPU Tweaker ever work on X58 for live changes or is there some physical limitation stopping progress?
*throws an exception at FELIX* :D
Pass the value you printed in the SPD table window to the function that handles the tREF Drop Down box in the main window, show current value as a faded box and in drop down menu selection, also have in drop down menu an option that is something like.
sprintf(tREF_buf, "Auto - %i\n", Passed_SPD_tREF);
then just pass tREF_buf to the drop down box handler and make it selectable!
All it has to do is write that auto calculated value to 268-26Ah/668-66Ah as you do normally. You've done the calculating function already it seems.
Done :D
Oh and add a refresh button to Memset :D :D In case memory frequency is changed with SetFSB or the likes if possible so one doesn't have to exit and reopen it! And with that refresh if Auto - 1234T is selected have it recalculate a new value!
Awesome work anyway, apologies for the exception hope it didn't hurt too much
Hi, Felix/Guys, I've been using memset 3.5 and love your utiility! Great Job!
Recently, I decided to upgrade to 4.0 so I uninstalled memset 3.5.
When I downloaded memset 4.0 I noticed it no longer used an installer but seemed to operate from the executable.
In any case when I use memset 4.0 the readings are no longer accurate.
It has my chipset p35 listed correctly but many of the parameters are completely off the wall. I'm running 5,4,5,15 pl6
memset 4.0 has me as 547515 pl 15 trfc 56 etc.. Inaddition I can not change any parameters as the apply button is shaded out.
Is there a different install procedure for memset 4.0 ?
Am I correct that there is no longer an installer?
In any case I searched the net and found memset3.6 with installer and installed it without any problems. It seems to be working fine. Any ideas on memset 4.0 problems?
I have an Asus p5k deluxe wifi board.
regards,
Bcc335
Felix,why MemSet v:4.0 beta4 cann't download?
=> mikeyakame: There are a lot of feature I could add in memset,
but I don't have time for do it. However I'll try to add some values in tREF combo.
=> Bcc335: Try to load 3.6 first and 4.0 in same time and tell me the result.
Could you send a register dump (with cpu-z->last table->registers.txt)
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr .
=> stasio: Why do you want to download MemSet v:4.0 beta4?
4.0 finale version is better.
Why are the apply button's shaded out? evga x58 sli and i7 965 with vista 64bit sp1! Thanks!
Alright Felix, I installed 3.6. It worked fine. I then ran the executable for 4.0 with 3.6 installed and it worked fine.
Was I correct in assuming that there is no installer for memset 4.0 and that it now only runs from executable?
Tks for your most execellent piece of work Memset! Felix! :)
regards
Bcc335 :)
Does anybody if the core i7 supports independent RAM speeds. In other words, is it feasible to have a DIMM running a 1333 while another DIMM runs at let us say 800Mhz. I have looked at the IMC register definitions, the settings seem to be all there. Is there something in the architecture that I am missing that makes it impossible. I have a i920 system using a gigabyte motherboard, and RAM timings can be set independently for each channel, but there is only one frequency setting for the DRAM in general.
I have been using CPUTweaker on the i7 as well, and in some instances, the reported CAS latency is different than the one reported by CPU-Z, more specifically I set one of my DIMMS to have a CL of 15, CPU Tweaker read it as 7 while CPU-Z said 15.
Thank You.
Moussa
As far as I know you cannot set each memory channel at a different clock frequency.
Hardware limitation.
To FELIX,
I'm using Bar_Edit V3.0 with my ASUS Rampage Formula X48 and Windows XP X64 to set tREF timing at 4352T. This works very good for my Memory at 1117MHz. I like that program very much. There is one thing that isn't working. Saving settings and load them at system start seems not to be working on my ASUS Rampage Formula X48 and Windows XP X64.
With MemSet V4.0 loading settings at system startup does work but I can't set tREF at 4352T.
=>A-Grey: I supposed that you know how work BAR_Edit, but:
-First make sure that your BAR_Edit.exe is in a "BAR_Edit" folder.
-Click on the "Save" button in the "Register" box and check that the register data you save is write
in the BAR_Edit.ini by click on the "Show Ini" button in the "Save" box.
-Then click on "Apply Save at StartUp".
Theoricaly you get a "BAR_Save" folder (tipically C:\BAR_Save) with a BAR_Edit.ini,
a StartUp.ini and the BAR_Edit.exe files...
