How does nb freq help me oc my 9850? i always run it at 2000mhz. didnt even know how to up it til yesterday. my highest clock is 3.333 at 1.5v with 16.5x202. does it make my cpu stronger in benching?
Just purchased my 940!
9850 on this board @3.5 in Vista 64

Check PM
I feel left out,,
im waiting for Febuary,,
Oh man,, 940 going lower i may have to buy sooner.
I have to hold out,,
Peer preshure @ Xtreme gonna ,,wanna ,, needa buy urge is getting to me.
Pull ,, Ram and CPU and Battery . Then reinstall Battery,, CPU with one stick of Ram.
All Phenoms B2/B3 boot with 302 ,, Even 940 can boot ,,
Once booted up and you can download Bios,, FLASH and USE the 602 Bios for ALL PHENOM for optimal performance and stability on ASUS M3A 79-T Dragon platform:yepp:.
Note:
Some ram may not default to JDEC ( reconized by Bios)
While using 302 bios It can under volt some types of ram( 1.5v instead of 1.8v ) cause a no boot.
Happens with some new and old Dominators and Kingston 1066mhz modules. Most *00mhz sticks should work fine.
1.22v - 1.28v is all that is needed.
I run mine @ 1.28v 24/7 . I have also pushed the HTT to 294+...The Higher the HTT then this becomes a factor if you have drive instabilities using High or even meduim HTT of 250.
In fact the SB @1.28v is actully good if running lots of hardware (drives and two+ or more Vidcards.)
P.S. i know ,, i coulda edited the above.
well, that didn't work..
anyway system is up and running,

thx to my little X2 4000+ for the flashing work :p:
Hey all Im all set up I got up to 3.5ghz stock voltage bench stable.....3.6ghz wouldnt get into windows so I upped the voltage to 1.4v (stock is 1.35v) and Im running benchies now. Im on vista 32 ultimate.
Bench just finished
19,475
sm2 7479
sm3 9899
cpu 4910
one thing......my multis only go to 20??
ASUS knows about that and the next BIOS should fix that 20x problem.
Also the SP2 beta works great with Vista 32.. Helped me get better performance all the way around , With my 9950. When i was using SP1 i could not exceed 3.5ghz.. Ive now run @ 3.6ghz on this old 140watt'r,, go figure:D
What i understand ,, ACC actually dosnt apply the the 940BE from what ive read...
Thats why it dosnt work on many mobos with ACC enabled,, Causes BSOD's or Noboot.
If i find a way to use it with 940/945 or if i hear of a( ASUS update CPU code) i will post it ASAP.
ATM ive seen and heard nadda about ACC and 940/945 being 100% workable.
For base Voltage i always run 2.8vdd (default is 2.5v) then i use whatever vcore which makes the Volts stock 1.3v (before i Oc). If i need more then i raise CPU/NB volts above stock setting. Thats how i get highest stable clocks with out ACC. Some chips will use less volts than others.
Note:
Phenom by far is one of the hardest platforms ive ever tweaked.
Just when you think your done theres a nother way to get More..painstakinly fun i must say.
Thanks for the tips on the SB man! I'm not sure if there is a sensor on it, I still haven't even figured out what TMPIN1 is in AOD but I'm assuming it's the mobo/NB.... Did you ever do the "finger" test on your SB @ 1.28v's?
Call me old school but it's always pretty reliable... :D
The Asus 79-T is the first board I've had with this option, I've never quite figured it out either.... What software do you use to check for the 1.3Vcore using Vddc, CPU-Z? I've played with it a few times but have never seen any performance increases so I usually just leave it on auto.Quote:

i wish i can get some of your overclocks , then again im only on AIR most of you guys are on Water
Titan7171: Cinebench really likes 64bit OS's, if your running 32 that may be why your scores seem low (I'm on XP64)....
Nice clocks BTW...
Yep get that 32 bit garbage off there. vista or XP X64 and your scores will be a boat load higher.
Anyone have 8 gig in this board?
If so, how does it do? OC?
I remember reading in the manual way back when, that it will downclock to 800 from 1066 or whatever you have. Did I remember that correctly?
250htt on 800mhz divider
Here is all four DIMMs @ a 800 divider...

Exactly ,,
The above " how you would also run 1066mhz+ with four sticks..."
There is always a way.
Thanx for posting that Honda,, You reminded me that simply Showing a nice Sreenie is sometimes easier than explaining the whole shibang:D
Note:
Everest and AOD should show the VDD.
VDD is actually the Base Volts,, It mearly helps the Mobo not fluctuate as bad under load(Vdroop under load). The Higher the VDD the stronger(more Stable) the Base Volt will be during load provided im remebering that correctly:D
