yeah buy a spare one xD
i'm curious if there will be better biosses in future as amd now becomes more popular again and a am3 UT board as well..

I thought it was supposed to be Design For Innovation? .......
I absolutely hated my cfx3200 board..might have been b/c of the OCZ psu I used that crapped out, then the enermax i put in it w/known issues with DFI.... BUT
I then get this board and so far I haven't had a problem.
I do need some help understanding and getting straight all the settings in the bios for these Phenom II chips.
I understand that there is :
NB multiplier
CPU multiplier
NB speed setting (whether 1.8ghz / 2.0ghz...etc)
...many more also
Is there a post/explanation somewhere of how all this works together to get the desired HTT MHz and so forth? I"m trying to learn all the settings and how they affect each other.
----EDIT: has to do with memory setting in BIOS , whether 1066/800/etc. I realize that
And also, what happend to the MAL - max async latency setting that was in the DFI bios on my 6400+BE?? 11/27/08 bios I believe
Campbell, I've been running my setup (M2R board) at 1.46v @3.74ghz 220FSB and I haven't noticed any problems or high temperatures... my only problem I need to figure out is how to get my HTT speed down, I set in bios HTT @ 1.8ghz but its not running at that due to I guess the NB Multiplier , its at 1980Mhz. THe Areca card also beeps at me twice during restarts...so I reckon its recieving a boot from the mobo twice...idk why.... maybe high HT?
After all of this I may downclock to where I'm happy and eventually buy the new ASUS board or some other brand that is better
You guys have been warned! My best advice is wait for next Bios to overclock . From what the Note Pad Read me said in 1/16/2009 ALPHA they said the voltage issue was under investigation as well as cool & quiet not working properly.
Another thing D.F.I 1/21/2009 "Beta Bios addresses SPD Not being Read Properly issue fixed now when I submitted the Bug report I was specific with the OCZ 2X2gb Reaper with OCZ Tony's Phenom SPD now in 1/21/2009 the SPD Profile is Read correctly when 1066 is set in Bios but..... I have a set of 2gb Kit of OCZ Flex 9200 that I flashed with Tony's Phenom SPD and when 1066 Bios is set it read TRFC @127.0ns should be 195.0ns:yepp:
Also on D.F.I JR 790GX you also need to correct SPD Profile not Read Correctly when 1066 Dividor set in Bios on Both 2x2gb & 2gb Kits that support OCZ Tony's Phenom SPD
1/21/2009 Beta Reads Values of 2x2gb Kits wrong and 2gb kits wrong on Tony's SPD File before 1066 set in Bios!
Unless DFI gets their balls sorted real soon, my next board ain't going to be one no matter how the M2RSH works out for me. It's a shame, but on DFI's part, not on mine.
Anyway, I love your sig BE, although Ive a more in-depth opinion about his stuff which prolly might get me banned, but I love to see that sig there:up:
Well as a Humanitarian and advocate of what America used to stand for my Position is for the Common working man and average Family which is what built this country not these Ass Holes that are in suits that make their living from others sufferance. My point of view does not make me popular because I am not able to be brain washed by the Media or TV and I see things for what they are.......and also I am not a Brown nose YES Man so that works against me as well. But......Someone has to stand up and tell the truth regardless of consequence or outcome! People say I am Unrealistic but wasn't it Unrealistic People that Founded this Country?
My bios is 12/11/2007 & all is ok except Vista saying unknown but CPU-Z gets it right. so i think i will install upto the latest AM2 Phenom1 Bios to be safe.
I can live with the Unknown. :)
Get away from that Bios it was crap in Alpha & Beta Release and should never have been made official!
You said 12/11/2007?
I know it should never have been release to public!
y might try 03/07 or 05/05 too..
mmh.. 05/05 doesnt let me change nb multi when using cnq.. and 1066 mode doesnt work..
back on 01/21..
ok, I understand all these multipliers and such.
Question tho: What happend to MAL - MAx Async Latency setting in bios?? do we no longer need it or is it adjusted elsewhere? On my previous setup that severely affected my overclock...changing it 2ns looser got me 300mhz and faster memory
OK i did testing with 01/21 on OCCT & no V-drop no ripple like the Asus so it must be my power supply playing a part here i had a slight drop on the v5& v3 on the DFI but no ripple.
Feel free to correct my typos when you Quote me :)
