Yep,
IŽm submerged:surf:
This is absurd... how can ASUS allow such poor quality on their top board?
Ah well iŽll guess that its yet another RMA. But iŽll try 0507 just in case....
IŽll let you know how it goes.
Cheers

tested both and above settings only in blue 3d stable.
and 10-15mhz lower frequenzy in white slots
but i think you really have to digg deep into that mobo to know the quirkses and need luck with every hardware.
Yes, I was surprised when I read that. Will probably try the white slots soon but I wonder why would ASUS make the secondary slots the better OCers?
You can try 0703, Im 100% estable on this one, but I fail on 0704 and 0801 with the same settings
Hi Slim!
Well i actually went trough all BIOSes starting from 0507-0801 (well the ones i have anyway) No luck i´m afraid:down:
I´ve also tested every slot with both the 2GB OCZ 1600 modules as well as the Corsair 1800 modules. The first two slots are the ones that functions at all.
Putting a module in slot 3 or 4 results in a no POST with the LCD error msg DET DIMM and thats it...
So i just got my fourth RMA process started. I still think that its a good board if i just could have a board that would work:rolleyes:
Cheers friends
Come On damnit, We need a new bios.
Hi all, been reading this thread for a bit, and now I have a Striker II extreme on its way, as I needed some SLI action! LOL! I know its a bit of a gamble, and I know all the problems you people are having, but im hoping that i'll be a bit lucky, and maybe help add to the great advice in this thread.
I was just wondering one thing... has anyone watercooled the NB on this board, and if so, did they use the fusion block that comes with the stock heatsink, or something else like an MCW30 (I have 2 sat here). If you guys are using a 3rd party block, does the stock cooling come appart like on my rampage formula, or do u have to find cooling for the PWM's and SB too?
I would guess that your 3rd and 4th slots are defective, if you have tried different sticks and different brands then I think you can just RMA your board. Good Luck with the process.
I wish there was a new one every day lol
If you are going to use Vista, you might be on the safe side with SLI, cant guarantee that though but there is a higher chance that you will have it working as it should.
If you are going to wc the NB, make sure you DONT use the plastic crap that comes in the ASUS package, I heard most people bought them from good brands and their NB didnt leak at all.
You dont need the SB to be water cooled, but a fan blowing towards it would be nice.
Since you are going WC, I recommend you WC your CPU and NB and leave the mosfets with Thermalright heatsinks and the SB with a low profile heatsink that was mentioned here back in page 40 I believe.
The NB plays a big role in the Striker II and having it with low temps helps a lot.
I just broke 20,000 in 3dmark06 with my 8800GTX OC2 at stock.
Im sorry, I knew I was wrong lol, Here it is the heatsink Im talking about

I read somewhere that a few people found their NB waterblock to have been cracked/have leaks. Id definitely be sure to give that a triple check.
Agreed Coupa
However, I havent heard that lately because 1) Like you said, people are triple checking and buying 3rd party things instead of using the ones that come in the box and 2) ASUS seems to have addressed this since I heard the first batches were the problematic ones.
Crazy man, broke 20K with a single GTX! Can you share what CPU and what clockspeeds you were running on both the CPU and graphics card? The best I've ever done with my GTX on the Striker was a bit over 17K (but quad-core was only at 4050Ghz)! In anycase great job on that uber score!
Up time so far is over 3 days solid.
I'm going to go 500FSB for next round...

The 177.35 Drivers are working really well for me. Theres a link so you can just download the inf file then get the driver off Nvidia.
I hope this can solve your SLI ups, cause its really helping with mine.
You havnt used 177 drivers yet have you?
I was thinking about it all day long, and will do it now that you recommend me those :)
And to answer you, no I never tried the 177 series, hopefully this is what I was waiting for?
I was going to say WooooT!
Noway in earth you coulda have break 20k with a single card, I barely make 19k with 2 8800GT in SLI
Coupa
System froze exactly at the same time it freezes when watching movies with any other driver. Im tired of this.
I have watercooling using stock waterblock - it drops about 10C. For me its on 45-50C. The real problem is the SB - right under GFX card - hot as hell - watercooling NB has almost no effect on SB... At the same time in same system CPU on load is max 50C, and 34 on idle.
